Just watching what looked like a slightly emotional Klopp at the start of the Liverpool game. Fans were holding aloft their scarves during YNWA ( not a patch on ours but that's not my point) . Some scarves bore the images of their legendary managers down the years. It got me thinking if we produced scarves like that, what legendary managers would be on them and on the flip side, for a laugh, what managers would be on a 'duff manager' scarf? Macari, Barnes .?
Apols for warped sense of humour ?.

Definitely 5 for a start,

Maley, Stein, McNeill, O’Neill and Rodgers.

I don’t think Ange and Jansen were here long enough.

McGrory, Hay, Burns and Lennon are Legends as players but maybe not as managers.

Buzz, sorry pal but no Gordon Strachan?
With what he was left with and what he achieved under strict financial constraints, I would argue he was one of the best managers we have had in our history.

28 Jan 2024 15:53:00
Have to disagree with Burns Buzz, He won us our first trophy in what felt like an eternity and played a style of football I've yet to see since!

28 Jan 2024 15:54:11
Mowbray on the reverse?

28 Jan 2024 16:06:39
Burns was also our manager when we went on our longest winless run in our history in 1994.

Burns was also our manager when Rangers took 12 points off us out of 12,for the only time ever.
Which helped Rangers win 8 in a row.

Legend as a player definitely but as a manager definitely Not.

Maley, Stein, McNeil, O'Neil, Strachan
On the other side, Macari, Brady, Dalglish, Barnes, Mowbray.

28 Jan 2024 16:09:02
Must include Gordon Strachan with 3 League Victories and Tommy Burn for his flowing attacking style of play.

Burns style of play struck me as a kid. Wasn't much TV of the dark nineties.

Tommy Burns never started Cadette and Hooijdink in the same team against Rangers, in the 11 months they were both at our club together.

In that 8 in a row season when Rangers done the whitewash, Celtic only scored 1 league goal in 4 games.

Rangers 2 Celtic 0
A fit Van Hooijdonk was dropped from the squad.

Celtic 0 Rangers 1
Cadette was sub.

Rangers 3 Celtic 1
We scored our only league goal against them, when Pierre came off the bench and both were on.

Celtic 2 Rangers 0 Scottish Cup
Pierre never made it off the bench in his last game.

Celtic 0 Rangers 1
Pierre left for Nottingham Forest the week before.

Celtic lost the league by only 5 points but we lost 12 points to Rangers.

Celtic terrorised every other club in the league, when both Pierre and Cadette started together but for whatever reason we never got the chance to see it against Rangers.

Jansen even for the fact he stopped ther corrupt 10 niar.

28 Jan 2024 17:33:35
TC

Wim Jansen was also the man that new about Henrik Larsons realest clause and signed him for circa. £650,000 has a better bit of footballing business ever been done? .

28 Jan 2024 19:59:33
Maley, Stein, McNeill, O’Neill, strachen and Rodgers imo.

28 Jan 2024 20:02:15
Jansen for stopping the 10 defo!

28 Jan 2024 21:03:15
What managers would you think should have statues built in the Celtic Way?

28 Jan 2024 22:26:37
Only Stein for me Stengo.

28 Jan 2024 22:47:04
Stengo

Mr Stein and Bill McNeill are already there but for me:

The one and only Tommy Burns should be there.

O’Neill, Wim Jansen and Dr Venglos.

The Bunnet absolutely.

Charles67,

Strachan could definitely be added to the Legends list.

He won 3 titles in a row with a few domestic cups added.

Strachan also Qualified for the CL last 16 in consecutive seasons. ?.
