Brendan Rodgers said that he had a meeting with Nicholson and McKay. In the meeting they discussed a time line for new transfers. Brendan then went on to say that they would have signings in by end of August.
The key point I took from that is that we have identified players, we are in talks with players and if we don't get players the blame lies with Nicholson and McKay.

I can see Celtic having a similar team which finished last season with Kasper, Idah and Bernardo being available for our 1st competitive match.
In the following 4 weeks, I’m expecting at least another 4 signings but I reckon O’Riley will be sold to fund it.
I’ve actually bet my Son Celtic will bring in at least 8 new signings before September. Only 6 more to go.
He’s probably already planning my forfeit. ?.

Going from Rodgers words the recruitment team and him have done their job, the players have been identified and McKay and Nicholson are working on getting the players in now.

I see the conversation between BR and Nicholson and MacKay as the two Board members telling BR who they are in negotiation with to fill his areas of concern . BR is happy that they are on same page, but reminding fans that deals may not be sealed before end of window .
To me BR is in a positive place knowing Board are working on his requirements.

I see it as Brendan Rodgers covering his own ar$e and letting us know the buck stops with Nicholson and McKay I don’t think it tells us for one minute that he’s in a ‘positive place’. He’s been here during his first tenure and he heard the same promises during the last two transfer windows that were subsequently panned in.

J I think he's right to cover his ar@e he's asking for help and it's up to the board to back the man. he needs new players and it'll he on rhe board if they don't deliver and we get mauled in the cl.

I agree he’s absolutely right to cover his ar$e I’m not pointing the finger at him he played a blinder last season I’m pointing it fairly and squarely at the board.
I was disagreeing that we can deduce from his comments that he’s in ‘a positive place’ with regard to Nicholson or McKay delivering.

Some people will find a negative where there is none . The fact that he said Celtic were working on players that he is obviously happy with as he says they are identified players, pleases me no end . 38 days of window left and Boards working on identified players is really good thing .
A negative and covering his arse would be him saying Board are trying to pick out the type of players we have identified, but it is a slow process and I hope they will find them soon
Then we could all be negative.

With roughly 2 weeks before the season starts not having signed 1 single outfield player yet baffles me. I get signings can take time, but we're constantly hearing bernardo for instance is imminent, at this rate its looking like that'll happen when oriely is sold. Even bringing him and idah back only leaves us where we finished off last season. Barely a mention of players needed in other areas. Think we can all agree we need another Lb, Cb, and Rodgers himself saying he wants 3 strikers, right now we only have kyogo. I fully understand there's still plenty time in the window left but surely we want guys bedded in as soon as possible.

The idea of Celtic signing 8 players this window was rather foolish . I would have been very happy 4-5 with a bit of quality . The 2 goalies are a sign of good intent.

so are they sayin that had that meeting not took place that they wouldn't have known who we wanted to sign? did brendan leave for the usa then think wtf i meant to say to them last week that a had a list of players lying around . now what did a do with it sh. who did a have on it. what a load a tosh!
