I would definitely loan lawal out this season.

The reason I am suggesting that is he is at a vital stage in his career and needs to play regularly to keep progressing. We need to ask ourselves is he better that McGregor, hatate or o'riley at this present time?

I say no and for that reason do t see him playing regularly at Celtic.

However, with another season of playing regularly on loan he will come back and be in a better position to challenge.

We also have Holm, iwata, Kelly? And likely Bernardo, all fighting for space on our bench, which makes game time even harder for him.

I think it would come down to who has the most potential to make an impact next season. At this moment in time both Kwon and Holm are nowhere near it and I doubt they have much of a future with us and should be sold if possible. Lawwell could be used and developed in some home games to give mcgregor a much needed break from time to time. We should have many more games with the champions league next season. Time to see what he offers.

A scenario for our central midfield that I think could work for us going forward but many fan wouldn’t be happy with would be the following if/ when MO is sold.

We sign Bernardo on a permanent deal.

Move McGregor forward along side Hatate.

Have Bernardo, Holm, Kelly? Compete behind the starting 2.

Give Lawal a year to develop further playing under Rodgers in the holding role with Iwata backing him up, with McGregor still able to play there.

We would potentially still need to sign another CM depending on what happens with Kelly and if Holm is ready to be relied upon.

In this scenario our youth have a pathway to first team football. Lawal looks the closest player we have had since Big Vic and time playing within our team rather than another loan could be vital to his development.

from the limited games i've seen lawwal play i've never been impressed, your playing with a midfield without mor so i presume he's gone and if that was the case i also presume another mid of some talent would be bought. i also presume to much.

Oden is a player and if anybody can’t see that, they ought to chuck it. He needs game time. He shouid be kept and not loaned out.

Based on what a few cameos. you might be right hopefully but apparently his attitude ain't great abd was struggling to get on our bench.

I agree with you there Magicpole. The potential is ripping out of Holm and Lawal.

MO developed with game time in the hoops and these players can do the same. These are players where the scouting and recruitment has been good and now game time is needed for them to flourish.

If we invest our money in starting quality players for GK, LB, CB, RW and also sign Bernardo and Idha it will be an excellent transfer window.

I definitely wouldn’t loan out Lawall, he has had a full season playing with Fleetwood . Now it is his time to benefit from the one on one coaching from B R, who we are told is one of the best in the game at one to one coaching . Bosun will benefit from playing with and practicing his skills with the better quality players in Lennoxtown . Working daily with the quality Celtic players will determine whether. B L can make the step up .
The player I think would best benefit from a loan is Dane Murray, who definitely needs game time.

It is the coaching that makes the difference. Holme, not so sure about Lawal, Kwon after seeing him last night have potential but that can only come to fruition with serious game time.

Are we as supporters prepared to risk the silverware and CL qualification on giving these players the time they need to develop.

It's a fine balancing act, I would be comfortable in SPFL but not in CL, where we want improvement.

The question you need to ask is, is he better than. Hatate, MOR or McGregor?

If not he won't play. If he does not play he won't develop.

11 Jul 2024 17:59:08
O Riley will be gone. hatate and mcgregor can’t play over 50 games in a season as last season proved. injuries happen fact of life especially when competing in high tempo champions league games. we need a bit of muscle in the middle of the park. we won’t know if it’s Lawal until he’s tested in the spfl. he certainly acquitted himself well in a robust league last season to the extent he attracted championship level interest.

I'd loan Lawal out. As said, regular game time is crucial for him at this stage in his career. Holm, Yang, Kwon, Murray and a few others could do with a loan and regular game time too. The younger ones needing a step up from what the B team in the Lowland league can offer to see if they have what it takes to make the step up to the first team.

Weejoe . What do players do at Lennoxtown, on the days they don’t have games . I would imagine BR would spend time with younger players training with ist team squad, and they should improve with his coaching and development, more so than at most clubs they could be loaned to.
