In one word sum up last season.
For me it was "painstaking".
Was delighted with the final outcome though.

“Relief”
Because there’s no doubt the Celtic Board underestimated our nearest rivals last season.

Brendan. Without him the boards ineptitude would have cost us the title.

It’s a very strange comment to make that without BR we wouldn’t have won the league. BR did a great job but he wasn’t the only person . We got exceptional performance from Scales . Previous season he was on loan with Aberdeen, and few would have a good a season as had . Other that surprised many was Taylor, MO’R and Idah towards end . It isn’t just the performance of your top players but how much better than usual u. get from your back up players . Last season was very diff But we had long term injuries at the one time to key players . We suffered from bias ref and VaR officials so much that Head of Referees Crawford Allan had to resign , some of our negative supporters Kept claiming we wouldn’t win, but team had other ideas and won by 8.

Turbulent.

Strange in your mind maybe. We are fortunate to have an elite manager who overcame all the issues you listed. exceptional and scales is not a phrase I have seen often. Brendan managed the ref issue very well by calling out Beaton and marking everyone’s card. he overcame the horrendous injuries. He brought idah in and his goals were crucial to winning the double. He brought Forrest back in and dumped the under performing wingers which were forced on him by the board. i notice you never gave a response to the one word topic that wee Joe posted. Away and have a lie down.

I definitely felt relief at the end.
I think all the crap in the media about us, coupled with the dodgy officiating against Hearts, irked Brendan. After that he seemed to go into another gear and developed a siege mentality within the squad. I am sure getting over the finish line and ramming the hacks words back down their throats felt sweet for the coaching staff and players.
It was also turbulent as there were lots of bumps along the way. ?.

It was great how Brendan worked the media and Clement.
He stayed Calm with all the “Good Girl” drama the Scottish media built up.
The same when he was facing a disciplinary hearing and a ban.
Brendan knew exactly how to address the awkward topic and he always looked in control.
Brendan played Clement fantastically well.
Clement got frustrated when Brendan mentioned he was the 5th Sevco manager he had beat.
The cherry on the cake,
Was when Clement lost the plot because Brendan mentioned our players were being sent out to have fun in another Glasgow Derby. ?
It was a frustrating season for Brendan but his experience showed in the end. ?.

It was fergie-esque, how he played the baldy skeletor. ?.

Buzz and wee Joe. Spot on.

How are we fortunate to have an elite Manager, before BR came we had an elite Manager Ange, who walked out on Celtic who had given him the opportunity to manage at his highest ever level in Champions League . We replaced an elite manager with an elite manager.
22 Jul 2024 05:24:54
The poster @weejoe was referring to last season. maybe you should read again. We have a few elite managers through the years with Stein, ONeil etc.
Do you not think we are fortunate to have Brendan? If you don’t that’s all well and good but I’m sure that is very much a minority view.

North 18, I just can’t see how when the Board get something right like employing an elite. Manager to replace an elite manager that we were very lucky
I have been told that after the Board got over its shock of what Ange landed them on days leading up to Scottish Cup Final, the Board including Dermot Desmond, their biggest shareholder plotted immediately to get who they considered to be the best Manager they could get and made him a fantastic offer and conditions to come back to Manage Celtic . Why are the Board not considered unlucky when they don’t get what they want, yet are considered lucky when they achieve what they like.

I believe Brendan is an outstanding manager as he has proven with Celtic twice now and over a fair number of years in the EPL. We are fortunate in that he is a fan and loves the club and the life his family have made here. i have never mentioned the words lucky or unlucky in any of my posts so stop putting words in my mouth.
