To everyone saying calm down, we’ve had two terrible transfer windows and can’t afford another. We’ve had a lot of time to prepare for this one knowing what we need so it was reasonable for fans to expect some early business done as proof of what was going on behind the scenes. But now, it’s as if we’re just starting to look.

I understand the frustration and need for fans to protest when it looks like we’re resting on our laurels but last season I think fan protests and disputes with the board cost us points. 99% season ticket renewals, we all buy tops and merch, I don’t know how to effectively protest without costing the team points but if we don’t deliver in this window there’ll be problems and we’ll have wasted a big advantage.

Don't buy merchandise, that doesn't cost the team points.

what was wrong with January transfer window? Cleared out some deadwood and signed a guy who contributed hugely to winning the league and cup double.

Last summer was awful, a scattergun approach which led to a bloated squad with very little quality added. Clearly we are doing things different this year. I'd like to have seen a GK added already as this was known for a while, but other than that, 3 or 4 players of first team quality will be more than enough - and the first players to move are always the worst, the ones teams want rid of.

So “2 terrible transfer windows” means that it’s time to have a melt down? You “understand the frustration and need for fans to protest”? This is the 9th day of the transfer window being open the 9th day.

Think there are plenty on here who need to take a hard look at them selfs in the mirror. Celtic didn’t sign players as quickly as I wanted so the toys are getting thrown from the pram. It is embarrassing beyond belief.

What benefit does the panty wetting and flapping have? Does it change a thing? No all that is achieved is more negativity spouted into the world and embarrassing your selfs.

It's getting worse if we had signed 4 players by now costing about 8m for the lot they'd be moaning.

09 Jul 2024 13:21:31
We need many first team players, i thought we'd be more active already, gk rb lcb lb dcm winger cf needed in my opinion.

09 Jul 2024 14:20:10
I agree Mally,
I would feel worse, if we had repeated what we did last season and what Sevco have already done this summer.

09 Jul 2024 16:15:46
We shouldn't be interested in any club in Scotland buzz bomb, we need many quality players for not being embarrassed in Europe again.

09 Jul 2024 17:10:41
Here's an idea why don't we go down the Sevco road and mop up all the free transfer galacticos and get rid of them the next window to mop up more bosman galacticos rinse and repeat? Staggers me why we haven't adopted this big club approach to our transfer strategy!

09 Jul 2024 17:13:23
Off course we should be interested in our nearest rivals because we need to know how to stay ahead of them.

If Sevco spend £25M this summer,
Our Board would be forced to spend £30M.

The Celtic Board got away with one last season and they know it.
Why else were they forced to back down with their GB disagreement.
( 10 points dropped in 10 league games )
Because the Celtic Board were in a panic, due to the horrendous season they were having running our club.

Celtic might have won 12 titles from the last 13 but Celtic are in a position to widen that gap, similar to the pre Gerrard days but so far, our Board are refusing to give the Supporters what we want.
European performances and hopefully results would also improve.

Celtic fans are not being unreasonable,
Spending at least £20M, plus any extra transfer monies brought in from summer transfers, would make a big difference to our team.

09 Jul 2024 17:33:59
Everybody. Calm Down!

09 Jul 2024 19:01:32
It doesn't matter how much we spend why are Celtic fans obsessed about this Is it so they think it gives them bragging rights from over the road?

It doesn't matter how much we spend, what matters is we make good appointments of players who make a contribution to the squad.

I will remind people
Barkas £5m
Ajeti £5m and both with their wages would have been the guts of £15m and a complete waste of money

On the other hand
Joe Hart £1m + £15k a week
Arron Mooey Free + 20k a week who both made telling contributions to the club winning 5 of the last 6 trophies

In my opinion for what it is worth is the signing if top level scouting people would have been the most important signings this summer and that hasn't happened, I happened to see something 2 weeks ago where Jay La Favre was listed as the clubs head scout obviously a promotion he has had as he was know as an international scout previously.

If nothing changes then nothing changes, it isn't any more or less than that.

09 Jul 2024 21:01:54
Celtic have only signed 6 players who have cost at least £6M in our History.

Edouard, Sutton, Hartson, Jullien, CCV and Jota.

Enough said.

Well not spend fortunes for Europe. Our board know the money comes in from beating the mutants and cl qualifying. Wete a business to them. If we kill of the scum for good were fucked financially. If you think we're getting sky broadcasting us against hearts over a season your mental. Our board are twats but far from stupid. The model goes from our board all the way to the spfl board. I never get why this is so hard to understand? No product. No world wide coverage. No money?

10 Jul 2024 08:03:16
We are a fickle lot. We got 9 in last window and moaned they were not good enough, this time the club are looking for quality not quantity, so taking a bit longer and the club are getting pelters again.

Maybe they could employ some of the guys on here to do the job for them, as its clearly an easier job than they are making out?

Now the Euros are just about over, I think things will start to move quickly.

Idah and Bernardo were always going to take time and just because there is little about other players doesn't mean nothing is going on.

If we start winning European matches on a regular basis, surely we will find it more difficult to win domestic matches . Surely that is the reason the perfectly programmed SPL computer manages to have us playing up in the highlands or at other difficult away venues the weekend after European games . The Masons running the SPL are no mugs, they have managed to get Sevco to finish 2 nd nearly every season, and put some pressure on us .
If you look at many clubs playing in Europe and look at their results immediately before Europe, European match and post European matches, they often find it difficult to win all . Winning regularly in Europe could well see points dropped surprisingly either before or after.
