Apart from KT, does anyone think they know for sure who we are looking at / considering in the forthcoming window?
1.) 27 Dec 2024 14:05:28
Are we really looking at KT or is this just lazy journalism?
2.) 27 Dec 2024 15:35:53
I don't know, the reasoning is, he is 27 in his prime, big talent with huge experience, loves Celtic, knows Celtic inside out, will not cost us a fee and this fact will offset his personal terms. Loads of pros but who knows?
{Ed007's Note - In his prime ??
3.) 27 Dec 2024 17:13:12
Ed, Kenny Dalglish went to Liverpool aged 26 1/ 2 yrs, in his prime.
{Ed007's Note - KT's prime was between 3-5 years ago, KT turns 28 in the summer, he's in the later stages of his career and will probably be retired or thinking about it in 3/4 years time because of the injury problems that have ravaged his body for years.
The only reason any Celtic fan wants KT to return is because he is KT and played for us before, he is nowhere near the level of player he was even when he left us, this is a rumour/signing driven solely by sentimentality - or birthday caird pish to put it another way.
If this was any other player at KT's age and with his injury record the support would be questioning the manager, the scouting department, Tisdale, Nicholson and even probably Peter Lawwell would get dragged into it.
It goes against the entire ethos of the Club & player trading model we use and it goes against the type of player Rodgers has said he wants.}
4.) 27 Dec 2024 19:24:56
The only way signing KT is a pay as you play. But can't see that being a goer. We can get better, hungrier and younger.
5.) 27 Dec 2024 23:12:10
Comparing Dalglish to tierney ?? surely your at the wind up.
6.) 28 Dec 2024 01:19:35
Fact is that Tierney without the injuries wouldn't even be in our stratosphere, ccv best defender we’ve got has been plagued by injuries but when fit he’s best by far we’ve got. Way i look at tierney signing is we manage his game time and if all goes well got a LB and CB who is genuinely world class when fit and loves the club and future captain when mcgregor decides to go or hang up his boots. Anyone moaning about wages etc who cares leave that rubbish to the board he’d run through a brick wall for us that's good enough for me. If taylor doesn't want to be back up or wants away can see this happening tbh.
7.) 28 Dec 2024 10:59:14
Get your point mate and take on board your comments about keeping him fit he would do ok for us but in my opinion he’s never been world class, in fact a would say he wasn’t good in Europe for us even in the pub league he got found out and was targeted often by opposition. Diehard are the McGregors n Forrest’s not Tierney, let’s move on am sure some of our posters have other suggestions.
8.) 28 Dec 2024 11:40:55
He splits opinion but in his prime he's as good a lb as I've seen and I've seen a good few, if and it's a big if he can stay fit and give us 25 games a season then for me it's a no brainer, agree with Ed unfortunately can see Jim retire early but dearly hope am wrong. regards leaving the club he's not alone they all leave so we can't beat him for that.
9.) 29 Dec 2024 17:32:14
Whatever the story is with KT, we potentially have a problem at LB come June.
GT could well be out of contract and leave, Valle will likely be back in Spain, and, to my knowledge, I'm not aware of any youngsters at CP who can step up?
I'm sure this is top of BR's list and as always, I'll watch with interest.

10.) 29 Dec 2024 17:35:03
Agree with you Mally ?
One think I would add, GT played the best football of his career under AP and that was nowhere near the player that KT is.

11.) 02 Jan 2025 00:25:08
If we signed K T it would be a year down the line before we know he could stay fit and give us 25 games a season . Of course KT is a far better lb than G T but having said that, if we were satisfied with KT playing 25 games per season any other lb would be better than him in approximately 35 games.
21 Jun 2024 16:51:25
Perhaps we are sizing up some of the Euros talent on display? Whatever is afoot is being kept well under wraps.
30 May 2024 14:59:18
Media reports stating that we are apparently going after the Man U number two Keeper Bayindir (Turkish player with some Caps) .
1.) 01 Jun 2024 09:20:53
Think celtic and man utd have rubbishd this.
31 Jan 2024 11:57:52
Well, it looks like Idah is the target. I'm always optimistic that Celtic have done their homework correctly and we will have a fan's favourite. However, I also respect Chris Sutton as a man in the know and a good judge of players. Chris is underwhelmed by the news.
1.) 31 Jan 2024 14:51:03
I'd tend to agree, given big Sutton played that role and Norwich was his first club, he'll know more than most.
I just hope that when called upon, this lad does the business, whether goes scored or created.

Celtic 'Total Football Experiment'.
I saw the Bhoys in Feb 1967 play Dinamo Zagreb in a friendly.
Big Jock promoted the match by promising we would attack flat out, first to the ball takes shies, corners etc, no time lost. We played great, fast and furious, missed loads, and lost 1 nil.
Terrific to watch but you leave the ground thinking, 'How did we lose that game? '.
1.) 20 Jan 2025 08:09:00
Both clubs won European trophies that season.
2.) 20 Jan 2025 13:58:53
Did he play King Billie at centre forward in that game.
17 Jan 2025 19:48:56
The last time I saw him in the flesh was August 1966 when we beat Man United by 4-1 in a pre-season mega match.
RIP Denis Law.
1.) 17 Jan 2025 20:31:19
That’s sad news.
Denis was the joint top Scotland goalscorer alongside Kenny Dalglish with 30 International goals each.
RIP.
2.) 17 Jan 2025 20:41:37
I met him in Portugal while on holiday and he was sozzled by lunchtime every day.
I remember him talking about George Best and he said he was always out drinking with him but he used to leave about 10-15 minutes before George as he knew the reporters were waiting to snap George.
RIP the Law Man.
3.) 17 Jan 2025 20:49:42
R. I. P the 'Lawman' ?

4.) 17 Jan 2025 21:02:42
Yeah, in about half the amount of games as well.
17 Jan 2025 16:00:37
Most of these players being linked to us for Jan transfer window - I haven't a clue about. Never know who we've paid the big bucks for until you see them play for us a few times.
1.) 17 Jan 2025 17:31:39
I think any big transfer business will be delayed until our CL position has been decided.
14 Jan 2025 22:05:24
After our opener I thought we'd get 5 or 6, but those first half misses cost us.
Dundee had a feisty 2nd half and I can't grudge them a point from a game they came close to winning.
14 Jan 2025 14:56:35
Kyogo, fans love him, gives everything and is seldom injured. I always feel it's a pity that his role seems to be just to finish. He is very skilful and he could give us so much more creatively. I'll bet he could lay more than a few on a plate for Idah. He knows what pass a striker wants.
1.) 14 Jan 2025 16:21:57
I'm hoping we play them both in the next few games because he's got the vision and creativity we sometimes lack.
2.) 14 Jan 2025 21:07:57
I think much of our attacking efforts are trying to create goal for Idah.
3.) 14 Jan 2025 21:34:22
Don't think Idah is sharp enough to benefit from the kind of ball that Kyogo might put into the penalty box, he will get his share of goals much the same way as Oh scored a few, I think they are very similar players.

I guess Ange has finally scratched that elusive EPL itch, he will likely head off into the sunset, without ever admitting that your team must have the ability to adapt.
However, he was great for Celtic and for that alone, he is one of our heroes.
16 Jan 2025 18:05:45
Vosabhoy, hopefully we will have toughened up a bit by then and more able to deal with 'In your faces' opposition.
We need to handle the physical as well as the skill and tactical. Been getting pushed around a bit this season.
13 Jan 2025 13:42:07
Roy Aitken, one of my all time favourite Bhoys, the engine that never ran out of fuel, the clock that never stopped ticking, no need to kiss the Badge - he was the Badge.
Great captain and leader. Snatched us many a victory from the jaws of defeat.
11 Jan 2025 16:41:33
Agreed, Yang's end product must improve, but surely you remember Mikey J?
Yang ain't the worst by a long chalk, believe me I've seen 'em all over the last 7 decades.

Clearcut a penalty as ever was. Yet it had to go to VAR and take ages to get a review from the Ref. Without VAR we do not get the penalty or the retake.
