I wasn't aware that Frimpong had a €40M release installed in his contract, which is about £35M.

Celtic sold him for £11.5 M.
We would get 30% of the approximately £23.5M profit if Frimpong was Sold.

Celtic would then receive approx £7M from any sale.

Celtic could possibly sign a couple of players that they wouldn't play.

The only problem is he's been getting sold for about 3 years and nothings happened.

More money for the Barrowfield and Hotel kitty.

His value shouldn’t go down anytime soon because he signed a contract extension a few months ago until 2028.

Strange how a cracking attacking full-back and yet an average defender caould be sold for £11m, and most of us were biting Leverkusen's hand off, pretty much giving us back the money we paid out. Good on you Jeremie.

Just out of curiosity, how does the sell on work? Is it valid only for the period of the original contract, say 5 years. Or is it until he leaves the club player sold to? Was wondering if contract extensions have any bearing?

{Ed007's Note - The sell-on clause is still valid, Chas even if a player signs an extension.}

Frimpong was very young when playing for Celtic . Not unsurprisingly the SMSM didn’t give the young player adequate protection and I imagine his agent advised him that he would help him to get a new club.

Sorry I meant Scottish referees didn’t protect him.
