Milan say we can have laxalt for 7 mill aye right we could get 2 better players for that dosh.

Mallythetally67

1.) 06 Jan 2021 09:24:33
Like boli and taylor lol.

2.) 06 Jan 2021 11:44:57
See if they fancy a swap deal for olly ntchambles.

3.) 06 Jan 2021 13:50:36
Danny rose available just turned 30.

4.) 06 Jan 2021 18:31:47
Danny Rose will be on about £100k a week.

5.) 07 Jan 2021 05:08:29
Danny Rose a player who is still very capable but only going to regress with no sell on value on astronomical wages is the exact opposite of what our board would sanction.

6.) 07 Jan 2021 12:51:10
Laxalt seems to be flavour of the month; but is not the answer.
He gives away too much possession and free-kicks and like his counter part on the other side (Frimpong) has no quality final ball.
If either of them could cross or pass more accurately we would have scored four or five at Ibrox.
I don't know the stats, (where's Buzz when I need him) - but I would even say Taylor has had more assists and even tackles than Laxalt.

7.) 07 Jan 2021 13:19:17
Danny Rose is an absolute clown with a massive chip on his shoulder. I wouldn't touch him.

8.) 07 Jan 2021 21:11:03
OAB
I seen a comparison last night between both Left backs.
Going by the statistics Taylor comes out on top.
Celtic have an average of 2.42 points with Taylor in the team compared to only 1.67 points with Laxalt in the team.
Which also means Celtic have scored more goals and conceded less with Taylor in the team.
Taylor commits less fouls himself and is also fouled more than Laxalt.
And Taylor has had 50% more crosses than Laxalt.
Laxalt is ahead with 10 shots at goal,2 on target and with 1 goal.
Taylor has only had 2 shots this season with 1 on target and no goals.
Taylor has played 205 minutes more than Laxalt.

Declan Gallagher linked with Celtic out of contract in summer . might be good signing.

Mallythetally67

1.) 05 Jan 2021 09:20:32
100% Mally, I just posted the same😉. Would be good addition and in my opinion is a far better defender than Bitton, Julien and Duffy.

2.) 05 Jan 2021 09:34:42
Big solid no nonsense defender watched him a few times with Scotland and never put a foot wrong.

3.) 05 Jan 2021 12:45:55
Gallagher would be a good signing. But he would go against the grain. We usually sign defenders who can't defend, it would never work. If any rumours emerge of a bombscare being available, that's who we will sign. Its the way we roll. Never in my whole life supporting Celtic has anybody ever said, Celtic are really strong defensively. Celtic, where bombscares are always welcome.

4.) 05 Jan 2021 15:34:17
There are bombscares all over the pitch it's just that general opinion is that if a defender makes a mistake which costs us a goal and ultimately the match we are all over him even though in the same game 2 or 3 sinners missed by a forward are overlooked. We never think that it was the 3 mistakes of the forwards which cost us.

5.) 05 Jan 2021 16:50:50
Our defence has cost us the league. Cost us the CL qualification, cost us a humiliation in the EL, cost 7s against Ross County in the BetFred and now having to play a midfielder at CB cost us the game. Missing chances has also cost us, but the defence is a shambles. Unti we fix that, we will struggle to put Sevco under pressure. If we bring in an. actual defender this window and a winger who can make a final ball, we can. If we don't. well it will be all over in weeks culminating the worst season in years. Bring in players and see how Sevco's bottle holds up. Can we win every game if we sort the defence? I think we can.

6.) 05 Jan 2021 19:07:50
It wasn't having a midfielder playing at centreback, that cost us the game, it was having a centreback playing at full back, because the fullback was playing as a winger, and forgetting he was meant to be a fullback.

7.) 06 Jan 2021 00:03:16
Magicpole

You must be very young if nobody in your life has said that Celtic are not strong defensively.

You obviously never saw Simpson, Craig, Gemmell, Murdoch, McNeil, Clark play as that was a REAL defence.

Pity we don’t have anybody like that playing for us just now.

8.) 06 Jan 2021 17:49:08
Ok, we get a defence every 53 years.

9.) 07 Jan 2021 05:15:43
He is decent, had a few good matches for Scotland a side who don’t have much off the ball and like Motherwell defend deeper than we do.
He might struggle with high line but for small few aid guess maybe £500k on a low wage I think it’s a good gamble to take.
He won’t be available on a pre contract as if he plays 5 more games it triggers year extension so not in final year of contract then.
Not sure how that would work as you would think as it stands he’s in final 6 months and could sign pre contract but then if he triggers the extension next month does that mean we can’t get him till he’s 31 in 18 months tbh.

West Brom enquire about ntcham sell sell sell imo.

Mallythetally67

1.) 31 Dec 2020 17:50:00
Agree Mally. His time is up and the squad needs trimmed. Clearly a talented player but never able to perform on a consistent basis.

2.) 01 Jan 2021 11:34:25
Really disappointed in Ntcham as when he first came, I really saw a player in their; but there you go. Agree we should sell ASAP, but if he was ineffective in a successful Celtic team, I don't see him excelling in a relegation battle with The Baggies? But's it's all about the money I suppose and I see him becoming a 'journeyman'.

3.) 01 Jan 2021 12:52:07
Just looks totally disinterested when he plays now also looks like he's unfit an put on weight too. Sell him and use funds towards a RB and RW.

29 Dec 2020 17:28:33
McKenzie allegedly going to genk prob be worth about 50 mill in 2 years. usual mince from us.

Mallythetally67

1.) 29 Dec 2020 19:14:46
typical from us according to anthony joseph we could have got him for pennies in the summer but went for duffy instead who admittedly i thought wpoul have been very good for us now it looks even if we did go in for mckenzie we would be priced out the boy looks a real talent.

2.) 29 Dec 2020 20:51:55
4mill dollars apparently but with a sell on surely a good investment.

3.) 29 Dec 2020 21:25:38
you would thinkso but going by lennons interview it looks like this window will be a quiet one.

4.) 29 Dec 2020 22:06:54
App just over 3.5 million for him. In today’s market that’s not a massive fee, if we aren’t looking ahead that is a massive mistake and more short sightedness from the club.

5.) 30 Dec 2020 08:42:02
Just another example of why we need people who can get off their arse and get things done. No one is surprised we seem to have lost out yet again. That sums up exactly the problem. We know they will feck everything up. Whoever looked st both him and Duffy and chose Duffy, needs sacked.

6.) 30 Dec 2020 10:25:21
That about sums it up Magicpole; Far too often Lawell and Co arse about in these windows with very short-sighted and tunnel vision.
Their fixation in saving a buck, haggling and dawdling has cost us millions in the long term with dozens of players who have never made the grade and are punted, offloaded and loaned-out.
Quality over Quantity should always be our recruitment motto.

7.) 30 Dec 2020 10:53:32
The next two games for Lennon are pivotal in the title race. he can't afford to lose anymore. so maybe the transfers will be held back just incase a new manager is brought in. hopefully not. so stop penny pinching and bring in the talent he needs to keep in the title race. match genks bid.

8.) 30 Dec 2020 12:31:43
Can’t see us spending at all in this market unless we sell first. Also is Lennon going to be in charge next season? Who knows, so I’d say there won’t be any new players in unless it’s loan deals.

{Ed007's Note - We might as well furlough Nick Hammond and all our scouts & analysts then eh? Do you also think Real Madrid, Barca, Man Utd, Arsenal, Juventus - the list goes on and on of clubs who might have different managers next season - won't be looking to bring in new players in January?
The window isn't even open and we've already got the preposterous doom and gloom pish being spouted by people that obviously have no clue how the Club is ran.}

9.) 30 Dec 2020 13:07:49
Furlough? I’d sack the lot of them. Are you telling me celtic are going to splash cash in this window? Loan deals is all we will get if any.

{Ed007's Note - I wish I could see into the future. So where on the park do we need to "splash cash" in January?}

10.) 30 Dec 2020 13:49:28
34 trophies won since 2000 so get the finger out board that’s not good enough eh.

11.) 30 Dec 2020 14:16:25
Your not picking up what I’m saying here, I’m saying I don’t think Celtic will spend this window with all the problems going on with C.V. I’m saying I think at best we will maybe get a loan or 2 and if we do spend it will only happen by selling one of the players. Where do we need to splash the cash? New goalkeeper, centre half and wide player. Where do you think.

{Ed007's Note - That's not what you said though but anyways.... All we need is cover for Forrest on the right, a RB if Elhamed moves on and the players already here to step up. There won't be any GK's or CBs brought in unless one of them leaves. The squad's bloated enough without adding players just because there's a transfer window open.}

12.) 30 Dec 2020 14:37:31
How did I not say that in earlier posts? I says I didn’t think we would spend and loan deals at best did i naw?

{Ed007's Note - Absolutely no mention of Covid and insinuating that doubts over Lennon's future will have some bearing on January's transfer activity.

"Can’t see us spending at all in this market unless we sell first. Also is Lennon going to be in charge next season? Who knows, so I’d say there won’t be any new players in unless it’s loan deals."

27 Dec 2020 20:49:46
Looks like typical Celtic dragging our heels with the boy McKenzie will end up a stand out in Germany or England knowing how we recruit.

Mallythetally67

1.) 27 Dec 2020 23:54:08
Lads mainly an arsenal fan but also closet rangers fan. Have always admired Neil lennon as a player and manager.
Arsenal have signed kieron Tierney and I have to say he is the best player on that team. The quality of Scottish footballers is overlooked by the premiership.
Good luck to you guys this season. Noel will turn it around. He is a good guy.

2.) 28 Dec 2020 16:12:34
Where are you hearing we are dithering again with McKenzie? I totally believe it though. Lawell only has one speed, haggle. I hope the rumours he is leaving soon are true and we get someone in with a pair of balls.

3.) 30 Dec 2020 11:42:09
We never plan ahead we will be playing european qualifiers with players out of position again next season as Ajer and Duffy won't be here and making the same mistake we do every season. Should have got McKenzie in now and bedded him.

The Benitez talk might be fanciful nut logically if he came it's not realky for the money. the man is wealthy so it might be the project and a crack at the cl again. you never know.

Mallythetally67

1.) 24 Jan 2021 14:27:18
A Spanish journalist who is friends with Rafa insists it’s a non starter unfortunately.

{Ed007's Note - And Wullie Ballache would know, BB. Him and Benitez are close friends and have been for years.}

2.) 24 Jan 2021 19:19:19
We will end up with Jack Ross or Kennedy and McManus. Scary eh🤬.

3.) 24 Jan 2021 19:43:35
i might be looking to much in to it but look how he worded the tweet. Celtic there was interest in him but not a option today he will rest for a bit.

maybe the interest was last time and no a option today because we have not made contact yet hahaha

what you make of it ed007 i am looking to much into it i think hahaha can only dream.

{Ed007's Note - I think you're overthinking it as well lol The jist (gist?) of it is that Benitez won't be the next manager.

23 Jan 2021 20:08:10
Benitez is out of our price range but I tho k Howe would be a good fit. he comes across well and by all accounts he has a good philosophy on the way he likes teams to play.

Mallythetally67

1.) 23 Jan 2021 22:02:40
Rafa Benitez may well be interested in more than the money and there is a fantastic challenge for him right here. Sometimes football is all about timing and who knows?

2.) 23 Jan 2021 23:21:14
Plus he and Gerrard
were frenimies. Wee bit of needle might just tempt him🤔.

22 Jan 2021 09:06:53
You knew the writing was on the wall when we exited the cl and Lennon called the players out. The ones that wanted away were to leave, but they didn't. not exactly great management and the season went south.

Mallythetally67

1.) 22 Jan 2021 10:32:41
Looking back Mally that was a massive fork in the road and what happened - nothing.

Tail end of January and all those players who wanted away in the summer are still at the club.

Not because NL has turned it around and hammered home the importance of winning the league this season, no, they've downed tools, the poor results have got poorer and NL is still coming away with the same responses in the interviews after every game.

Shambles.

21 Jan 2021 15:21:32
Another poor decision. why bring bavk young Robertson who was doing great down south and not even strip him last night. makes no sense and just holding the kid back.

Mallythetally67

1.) 21 Jan 2021 15:59:25
Most likely a precaution in case there's ever the need for a large number of players to self isolate again I'd guess.

This boy has potential. Hopefully whoever comes in gives him a chance next season.

2.) 21 Jan 2021 15:59:51
Very true.

3.) 21 Jan 2021 19:17:13
Spot on mall hh.

20 Jan 2021 14:15:27
Wouldn't surprise me if this game is off. Story of our season.

Mallythetally67

1.) 20 Jan 2021 16:20:48
I can’t see the game going ahead because the pitch seemed to still have snow on it at 12.37pm today.
I don’t think Livingston are trying all they can to make sure the game goes ahead.
They’ll be quite happy for their players to rest before they play their Semi Final this weekend.
Willie Collum will need to get a move on and inspect the pitch.
Maybe original referee Steven McLean would’ve given a decision by now.

2.) 20 Jan 2021 16:33:40
The game will go ahead unless there is another blizzard in livi tonight as the game is being show on Sly.
Reports saying that they have used a snow clearing machine and the pitch is fine.

3.) 20 Jan 2021 17:44:54
It could turn out to be a blessing that Steven McLean isn’t the referee tonight.
He’s recently postponed the Livingston V Aberdeen game twice.
In December he called the game off due to snow and then again in January due to a waterlogged pitch just before kickoff.
Hopefully Collum gives it the go ahead for his 3rd Livingston V Celtic game in a row.

4.) 20 Jan 2021 18:06:06
Speaking to someone who is involved in laying Livingston’s type of pitch tells me that using snow clearing machines damages the surface and shouldn’t be used. As we struggle big time on these surfaces I hope this doesn’t cause us more problems.

5.) 20 Jan 2021 18:20:27
I’m sure the criteria from the old SPL in the 90s was for the stadiums to be all seated and have undersoil heating.

6.) 20 Jan 2021 18:50:07
IMHO plastic pitches (or whatever they are technically made from) should not be allowed in any top league in Europe.

I'd give clubs with 'plastic' in our league a reasonable timeframe and even some sort of financial support to put a proper pitch in place.

7.) 20 Jan 2021 18:52:02
That would melt theirs though.

8.) 20 Jan 2021 19:02:38
Pedro
Livingston had a grass pitch when they played in the Championship.
They only changed to plastic in 2018 after they got promoted to the Premiership.

9.) 20 Jan 2021 19:20:08
Don’t know if any one else has noticed that the condition of a number of the hybrid pitches is poor? Seams to be worse than the old grass parks of old. Might be me remembering fondly.
