Maeda has been outstanding in two positions for us since he arrived and a revelation after Kyogo effed off. If nothing else it protects the club from bargain-hunting pub league sniffers.

World class negotiations from Celtic! It’s always best to do deals when your desperate.
Why did we let the deal drag? He was a no brainier and surely the delay was unnecessary. Seems fairly clear the approach hasn’t saved money. I wouldn’t be surprised if the player has spent the offseason with his head up his backside; he’s more than likely not match fit and won’t be up to scratch with our pre-season. That’s not the end of the world but in the meantime, we’ve ran Kyogo into the ground and probably disrupted our chances of moving on Mikey J (and making a couple of bob) . Doesn’t look like we had a plan B either.
We need a few more, but we can’t afford to move at this pace. Anyway Good luck to the bhoy.

In fairness Gerry I think B R can at the most name the players he wants in certain positions. The Board are not likely to report back to him on any of these players until he has something concrete to tell him . Either positive , player is on his way for medical or negative, player is doing a medical elsewhere for a fee and terms we have no interest in matching .
BR is very busy at this time of year and he hasn’t time for the minute details of every contract and he rightly leaves that in hands of Board.

Our Board and Nicholson in particular are notoriously slow in getting deals done, the perception not just by myself is he is weak and easily influenced by others around him
Also with Brendan he should be more pro active and keep chasing Board until players are brought in
Look what big Ange achieved he literally contacted players he wanted himself and then made Board sign them.

Where does the weak comments come from about MN. He is/ was Head of Legal at a legal firm. You don't get to that position and do that job by being weak.
The people who say this are using him to blame for us not having signed 5 first team players in the first week of window.
I have absolutely no doubt we are chasing players but understand we are not the only club chasing the same players, or that those players want to come to us or the SPFL or that clubs players and agents are buying their time to assess their options.
MN is 1 of many CEOs and their recruitment teams looking at the same players, who make offers for players based on their assessment of their current worth, potential and future worth.
Ange had a soecialist knowledge of that league and players, he identified players who fitted his style of play in a league few clubs were really looking at.
The price of the players made it easy for us to do deals quickly as those clubs got prices they found acceptable.
In Europe it's different as there are many more teams looking and players have many more options.
We just need patience and ignore all the media headlines trying to tell us our board are slow at doing deals, or we missed out on this player or that player and that our boards slow action has already made our Managers mind up not to sign an extension.

Seriously we need to seek and sign young versatile players coming towards the end of their contracts . We know £20m doesn’t guarantee a top quality player, yet it’s outside our range . We really have to buy smart, if we intend to have any success in Europe. European success is very difficult to achieve and although we deserved the success we had last year and with luck could have more, repeating that level this year and next will take a great effort from a good Celtic team who even then will need a bit of luck . Hopefully we. sign a couple more youngsters like Nygren to help us to earn our luck .

Benji has a brilliant left foot and it’s impressive to be the club captain at such young age.
It was great to see a superb goal direct from a free kick in the video.
His Danish club also played on a plastic pitch.
