Might be wrong but if CCVs contract expires next summer, do we stick or twist? Our best central defender but has been injury prone this season. What are people's thoughts?

We should all be laughing at the Scottish media trying to unsettle us by suggesting BR is one of the favourites for a job in the PL that isn't even vacant

CCV contract doesn’t expire for another 2.5 years but it’s still a good question.
It depends how available he is for the 2nd half of this season.
He was really the only top Celtic player who didn’t sign an extension a few months ago.
Celtic will have a decision to make in the summer if he doesn’t sign an extension because he will be at peak value.
Personally I would keep him as long as possible but that depends how fit he remains.
( the money only sits in the bank anyway )

It's the same with any of our key players who have been out injured - as soon as they are back on the grass they're straight into the first team. It'll be the same with Hatate and Abada. Hatate has been out injured with two leg injuries - if he's rushed back into the team and suffers another injury would that make him injury prone?
They come back in too early.

Pretty sure CCV is contracted until summer of 2026?
My thought's;- players get injured sometimes.
CCV is so much of a rock for Celtic, he could change his name to Peter.

It's a good point you make Stengo and this goes back to the lack of quality across the 32 man first team squad as a result of a shambles of a summer transfer window.

The man has been the best CB since VVD and it would be great to hang on to him not only for his presence and character, but for the influence and experience he can give his partner (s) .
Stengo makes a great point as it has shown with Hatate as well. The 'stalwarts' are over0relied upon because BR feels he cannot rely on several squad players on a regular basis to be able to rest first choice [layers because of the lack of quality or experience.

Celtic Directors don’t actually buy any players, they create and decide budget . According to many expert and experienced posters on here, they didn’t have any problem with the overall spending, just that the recruitment team bought
9-10 players and our people claim the money would have been better spent by our recruitment team on about 4 players . Our problem with placing blame or responsibility is who gave what instructions to recruitment team and when . No club releases that information preferring to keep fans in the dark.

Our medical people should be strong enough to prevent BR bringing players back early, surely that is an important part of their job.

Celtic might have spent £20 Million in the summer transfer market but we brought in £30 Million for Jota and Starfelt.
Maybe once,
Celtic can actually SPEND proper money in the transfer market, to help us reach a higher level.
Instead our Board members, are only interested in making a profit and a dividend to brag about.

Celtic will often pay in transfers less than they get in sales . This doesn’t necessarily mean that Celtic are not spending more on players than they received. Celtic usually extend or give a number of players new contacts and in some yrs at least when it seems our purchasing totals fall short of sales Celtic give out quite a few new contracts.
