Papertalk says brentford want to replace ivan toney (who lawell biscuit tinned) with kyogo . toney is rated £80 million plus but has a slightly lesser scoring rate than kyogo .2.49 2.29 . how much then is the asking price for kyogo . we've got to be asking like for like £80 million plus . I'd accept £50 plus hickey . i say this as in this situation as dutch clubs who are on a similar standing to us or smaller than us always get top dollar (and reinvest it) but our board and some fans have this "he's only playing in spl attitude " i say bleed them for every penny we can get . if we accept around a third (tierney fee approx) of what toney goes for we'd be as well giving him away free and bend over and let the big money epl league boys spank us.

My house would be worth far more if different part of Scotland. We play the hand we are dealt. Also as pointed out to me last night. Toney decided not to move.

Toney has shown that he can score regularly in the EPL against World Class defenders.

Kyogo was possibly worth £25 Million before the season started but Celtic would be lucky to get £15-£20 Million for Kyogo now.

I think both Kyogo and Brendan are making each other look silly.

Kyogo not adapting to Brendan’s tactics shows he not a £80 Million player and Brendan is showing he isn’t an Elite manager because he can’t adjust his tactics to get the best out of Kyogo.

There is something wrong with football when a player convicted of gambling including against his own team is being talked about as a transfer target of any club . He wasn’t sentenced to a long period of suspension for doing a shilling roll up.

Kyogo's age is what will stop him moving for a massive fee. Around £10 million is ceiling price, I would imagine.

At 28 this will be his last chance of a move to PL or somewhere similar but he won't go for top dollar if he goes.

Our play last year suited him better, his strengths do not match the way we are currently playing, play faster forward and he will get more goals.

Brendan can blame the player for not adjusting but why not play to his strengths to get the best out of him.

Our slow play this year has given teams a chance to block us out and git us in the break, which they struggled to do last year as our movement was much slicker.

A team doesn't just turn bad overnight, we just need belief and some of the players, a boot up the a***.

{Ed007's Note - Kyogo turns 29 next month, MIP.}

Brendan has said just the other day that not one thing has changed from last season regarding what kyogo is being asked to do. maybe he's off form look at the chance he missed last week against hibs we can't blame rhe manager for that or the one he sclaffed last night. he'll come good again all strikers go through this.

14 Dec 2023 16:17:44
toney recently confirmed on a podcast that he decided not to join celtic as he was not guaranteed to be the first choice striker as we already had Edouard and griff it was nothing to do with a biscuit tin. i know the board penny pinch at times but the way some fans go on about some moves that did not go through is wrong.

14 Dec 2023 17:23:53
Kyogo's constant movement is his key attribute. If we're not playing forward passes as often, looking for those runs, he won't do as well as he did under Ange. If he's not the manager's type, then we should sell him and put that money towards a striker that is.

14 Dec 2023 17:56:11
Thanks Ed. The defender marking Kyogo said last night he had never come up against anyone who moved like him. He was making runs the defender couldn't predict or keep up with.

That shows you he is a good striker that does not get the service Hatate provides him.

Kyogo has a shoulder injury which is most likely why he isn’t getting clean shots away like last season . He has had enough decent chances to have doubled his goal scoring this season.

14 Dec 2023 18:47:13
Kyogo might not have been asked to do anything different, but the rest of the team has, resulting in a dearth of chances being created.

£20-25M for Kyogo. He's got no sell-on but he's in his prime and has shown in the CL this season he can score at the very top level. I wouldn't sell him. If it was up to me I wouldn't sell him.

I can’t believe Kyogo didn’t get a penalty last night by the Feyenoord player using his straight arm across the neck to try to constrain .
I have to say the first thing I thought of when BR was confirmed as new manager was that Kyogo would be well looked after, as BR had Vardy making runs behind the back 4 for yrs.
