Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

Hi Ed, there's been talk of a breakdown/ non-existent relationship between NL and John Kennedy.
Do you know if there's any truth in this at all?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I've heard the story but I don't believe a word of it.}

02 Dec 2020 20:53:20
The timing is too convenient. It's the same as all the rumours after the Rangers game where Christie and Brown apparently tried to batter Lennon in the dressing room etc. There was no sniff of a bad relationship between Lennon and Kennedy until we started losing games.

David Munro will referee the Celtic V St. Johnstone game on Sunday.
This will be his first ever Celtic match.

Let's hope he can do us a favour lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 17:53:23
Cannot believe that people on here are saying that we should sell Christie. If more players showed the passion and commitment that he shows we wouldn't be in the position that we are in now. Only player that did an interview on Sunday. Where was Brown? As the club captain he has to show he has the balls to face the media and not leave it one of the younger players.
There are a lot more players that should be shown the door. Realistically we will struggle to get TIAR. So we should be looking to restart and rebuild for next season. We will take a hit on a lot of the bad signings and that have been made and a couple of the long term players.
Bain:- Out
Barkas:-Out
Laxalt:- Out
Ajer:- Out
Duffy:- Out
Bitton:- Out
Ntcham:- Out
Brown:- Out
Ajeti:- Out
Klimala:- Out
There will be some out there who disagree with the above. But as they say it is all about opinions and not looking through Green Tinted Glasses.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

02 Dec 2020 18:26:56
Agree with a lot of that Claymore although I think Laxalt is a player we haven't seen the best of yet. Brown out of the team yes, but definitely not out of the club. HH.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 20:02:05
Claymore at first I thought feck sake that’s a bit of a heavy duty list calm doon. But after reading it again you’re maybe no too far away although I’m with Bestybhoy and think Laxalt is a player and Broon has earned the right to stay at the club in a coaching role far more so than John Kennedy.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 20:07:41
Claymore 10iar is not out of reach yet and there is an excellent opportunity to have a clear out in January and get players in.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 20:22:01
No way laxalt should be on that list. He may not have played great against ross county but he has been one of the best players since he signed. And as has been said brown in a coaching role with the experience he has. Would also add eddy to it. The guy have given up for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 20:36:47
The problem with Christie is he is one of the players that don't want to be here, all he does is run about like a headless chicken and blast the ball over the bar from 25yrds
His crossing is terrible also.
I wouldn't have him anywhere near the team.

When he leaves I don’t think I’ll remember French Eddie or Mouusa. But I’ll remember Larson and he’ll give me a smile on ma death bed. Especially that chip over Kloss. The best ever foreign player to play in Scotland beyond a shadow of a doubt.

What makes yous think please will spend money in Jan? Hh.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 23:28:06
We wouldn't miss most of that list bar Laxalt. He's been our best player since he signed imo. A rebuild is on the horizon as a lot of players will want a crack at a better league not sure Jan is the time for wholesale changes though. If Duffy is going then we need a new CB get McKenzie done early before we lose out on him. If we are genuinely interested in Osayi-Samuel, Doughty, McCarthy then pay to get them in asap instead of pre contracts these guys will freshen up the starting 11.

Everyone ready for a 4 day rollercoaster?

I'm not expecting anything from the AC game. All I ask is for a performance and a move in the right direction.

Sunday against ST Johnstone that's when we need to be at it.

I'm kind of hoping that the idiots that turned up at Celtic Park to protest might actually have done some good in respect of the players knowing how enraged the supports are.

We can only hope.

02 Dec 2020 18:33:55
Good point mate 👍.

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Dec 2020 20:22:28
Could be a 7 day roller coaster if you include Lille next week. Whoever is in charge, a couple of things must happen in team selection. Brown and CalMac must not play in European games. Give them a rest.

Turnbull, Soro, Barkas and Duffy must play both European games. Give them games.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 20:59:29
I don't see that the people that turned up at CP were idiots IMO they shouldn't have done it but I can see the frustration that they felt after that game. The frustration that a lot of us feel now Lennon and ALL THE BACKROOM STAFF should have been sacked or resigned after the Sevco game last Christmas getting absolutely pumped twice in what 3 months? Should have been the end on top of that the Cluj game should have been enough for the club to take action but they never this full season has been a total disaster but we still have no future direction from the club.

02 Dec 2020 15:03:54
Glad Lenny looks a bit happier in press conference. Here's hoping transmits to players. We have a lot still to play for COYBIG.

Hopefully he drops likes of edouard, Christie, Ntcham and Ajer. Personally I pray Ajer is not selected to play against Milan as no doubt he will put a man of the match performance in to try seal a transfer.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 16:31:03
Philtim88 I don't believe for minute Milan actually wanting ajer and certainly not on recent form unfortunately I think ajer does believe it. He will end up at championship team in my opinion to all the rest of the wantaways Dae wan.

02 Dec 2020 17:45:05
P73 I agree mate, sooner they are out the door the better.

I still think we can do this if we get these players out the door and a few new faces in, including backroom staff. If Lennon ends up hanging onto his job, Kennedy must be demoted at very least. He is not an assistant manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 14:23:38

Neil Lennon's press conference earlier today.....

Believable3 Unbelievable0

02 Dec 2020 14:43:24
NL commented that he thought the body language of the players was good against Ross County. I don't agree.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 15:06:26
Pedro we can read more in between the lines than what he said. Confidence is obviously low which is everything. I remember watching Celtic running out the tunnel against them during their 9 in a row and the players didn’t even look as if they believed they could beat them and that was before a ball was kicked.

Neil knows his jacket is on a shoogly peg from listening to that but despite our conflicting opinions he is going nowhere just now. We can also take from it that events after the game made his departure even less likely which is understandable.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 15:28:45
The only way Lennon is going to turn this around is dropping the players wanting away and getting a highly experienced assistant manager in. Kennedy brings absolutely nothing.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 16:49:40
Make Scott Brown the assistant manager, he could fire the team up before and during the game, and would be more beneficial to the team effort than being on the field .

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 17:05:03
I got to "Flick of a switch'& my tablet started to Buffer. Even my Internet is sick of soundbites. Beleive in the players? Ntcham Ajer Moi Eddie Calmac Corpus Duffy Brown Laxalt Rogic will be of for the start of next season. Turnbull Soro Klimala Ajeti Frimpong Bitton Griffiths Barkas Taylor Elhamed Johnstone Forrest will be what's left. Fringe players ( Welsh Connell Hazard Ralston Dembele Henderson) Lawell will slip away in the summer leaving somebody to Rebuild a squad around what we have left. He will still be raking it in when he leaves due to his shares SPFL and Euro positions.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 18:17:38
He actually said that he didn’t see a hell of a lot wrong with the performance against Ross county! Absolutely frightening honestly! If he can’t see what was wrong with that on Sunday then we are more f**ked than I thought!

Good morning lads.

Many of you probably know but many possibly don't that Ed007 collects funds for Hamilton Foodbank via the banter site each Christmas. A cause very much worthy of our support this year especially although I have my suspicions he doesn't push it too hard.

Maybe those that have a few bob to spare that use the site could support his cause as a token of thanks to Ed007 for all the hard work he does and for listening to our sh**e during the year.

Just thought I'd take the opportunity to promote it on his behalf unsolicited I may add. We can achieve together what we can't achieve alone and many a mickle makes a muckle.

If you're interested I'm sure Ed will post the link to donate.

You never lose what you give away.

Thanks lads. God Bless. jfp ☘️.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Thanks JFP 👍 I can't believe it's already at £800, that is unbelievable considering it's only been running for 25 hours, my heartfelt thanks goes to everyone who's donated - and if you don't or can't donate that's no problem, it's a tough $hitty world out there and this year has been one of the worse in living memory.
I also hope & pray that there's none of you guys in the situation of those we're trying to help, if things are that bad please get in touch with me in total confidence at ed007@live.co.uk and I'll do my very best to sort something out.
If you would like to donate there's a link at the top of the page or just click HERE. God bless 🙏

02 Dec 2020 14:40:19
Hi Ed I would love to donate to your great cause but my wife and myself distribute hampers at this time of the year and at Easter to those less fortunate than ourselves where we live and contribute to the local food bank we purchase all of the goods ourselves carry on the great work you do god bless.

Haven't got a clue what's going to happen this the season, but looking ahead to next season.

Might be unpopular but I'd punt (all conservative valuations)
Eddie 18m
Nitcham* 6m
Christie 6m
Ajer 10m
40m total, split it into 2, use 20m to bring in ralf rangnick and Alex Neil as head coach or ralf and Gerardo Seoane as head coach. let ralf use the rest of that 20 to upgrade what needs upgraded behind the scenes.
Other 20m get used to bring in some players who fit the system.

We have a chance next season to build and implement something exciting.

Can only dream eh.

02 Dec 2020 17:55:17
Sorry mate I don't see any manager getting even half of outgoing player sales. We've not sold a player worth anything since Tierney.

Player sales in January and the summer will be plugging the financial blackholes left by CL failure, C.V. and in all likelihood a drop in season ticket sales next year. Add in poor recruitment and money down the drain with signings like Klimala, Bayo, Bolingoli, Shved, Duffy etc. We can't keep pissing money away.

It pains me to say it but I fear the worst is yet to come.

Look at the players who are likely to leave in the summer (or sooner) - Edouard, Elyounoussi, Christie, Brown, Ajer, Ntcham, Rogic, Duffy. I imagine CalMac will push for a move based on what I've heard. The squad will be decimated.

There's not much coming out of the youth team with most of the boys at a younger level leaving at the first opportunity and we are about to loose the best prospect we've had for years in Karamoko Dembele.

It would take some optimist to see us getting in a quality manager, replacing half the squad and hitting the ground running to qualify for the champions league within a 6 week period at the end of the season.

Change is needed and its needed now and not just the manager.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 21:58:41
@delbhoy I could handle not winning the league for first couple of seasons if was seeing progress each year. Hopefully by 3rd year being champs again and a young exciting team chapping at the bit to get into champions league or make a mark in the Europa.
If Brentford and an energy drinks company can do it so can we, just need to get the right football men in to do it. Look at that RB Salzburg team. I watched them last night, great team.
But I know where you coming from hence I can dream comment.

My worst fear is everything your saying panning out and we just bring in more s***e or just do enough to keep most happy.

Between ntcham and rogic there has not been a bead if sweat broken so you have 2 passengers right there so why does lenny play them and ignore young turnbull who must be champing at the bit to play. Soro as well cannot be any worse than what brown is bringing to the table. And he wonders why we're not getting results.

02 Dec 2020 08:43:00
Those are just a couple of the reasons we need to change the whole management team; with fresh ideas, motivation and perspective.
There's still no getting away from the fact that the players have had a huge part in the mess we are in; but the buck always stops at the manager and we can't continue with the way things are at present.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 09:07:51
CM agree but he's chopped and changed that much to find a solution i genuinely don't think the players know what he wants. that's no excuse for hard graft and the 2 I've mentioned you could add eddy who's not tried a leg moi doesn't exactly burst a gut and ajeti stands up top and waits for the ball no running channels or dropping off. He needs to get a settled 11 and run with it for 4 or 5 games and have faith in one system instead of changing half way through a game that's only going to confuse the wee souls.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 09:34:38

What has really impacted is the last 2 transfer windows. A complete disaster. Not one player has made an impact. that is where we have fallen down.
No point in naming them all. its everyone of them. even if 4 players out of at least the last 8 had shown up, then we wouldn't be in the mess we are currently in.

The team we need to play against Milan to give us some hope we can turn league around is

GK Hazard

LB Lavant
CB Julien
CB Welsh
RB Elhamed

DCM McGregor
DCM Soro

LW Moi

CAM Turnbull

RW Frimpong

CF Griffiths

Personally I think we are better off going 4-4-2 but Lenton will never learn.

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Dec 2020 11:11:08
Doesn’t really matter which player did or didn’t do or not do whatever. The manager is responsible for who steps onto the pitch and in a results based business Is ultimately answerable for the outcomes. If the manager perceived the problem is above him, he has two options, be the scapegoat or take action.
Love him or loathe him, maybe Rodgers just had the balls to say **** you to the people above him.
We fans never find out the true reasons because football is such a clique industry.

I don’t think Forrest will start training until the New Year.
It could be the middle of January before he’s back in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2020 12:19:57
I wouldn't worry about Forrest, he was just another player that turns up in about 6 or 7 games a season and does nothing the rest of the time, the exact same with Rogic.

Celtic are definitely missing Forrest’s goals and assists.

Jonboy. Forrest hits good stats for goals and assists most season he is direct and always drives in to the box and hits the byline something we were badly missing on Sunday. He brings a good attacking side. Quicker he is back the better.

Exactly welshy! The fans dug deep once again to pay for season tickets that get u access to a dodgy link for Celtic tv! Payed through the nose for club merchandise, all in the middle of horrible times financially for a lot of people! I don’t agree with what happened on Sunday after the game but the chancers running our club have to be taken to task for a massive drop in standards at our club! They have kept Lennon In charge for the sole reason of saying we are in charge and no amount of fans moaning will change that! Because they certainly haven’t kept him on for football reasons! A blind man could see that Neil is a spent force and will not turn this round!

Everything that can be said has been said. The board owe a duty of care to the NL, they can't at a human level let this continue.

I can only assume NL has not resigned as he is financially compromised if he does.

Well he deserves his terms settled, and thanked.

Anything less is wrong.

But there is a duty of care, and that requires those in charge to act.

The players, well they can't be sacked from there contracts. But shame on you all.

Alot of people a lot poorer than you, haven invested and support your lifestyle.

Zero to two shame on you.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

02 Dec 2020 10:52:35
He's entitled to a settlement because he has a contract and it's only right to thank him for what he's achieved DRB. Delivered 8 and Treble Treble. Last season delivered 9 and a potential Quadruple Treble. There's been good and bad over the past 18 months and it's not right to forget the good just because it ended negatively.
