It was a massive shock that Butland actually managed to save a penalty on Saturday.
Butland had only saved ONE penalty in the last 10 years before Saturday in 2021/ 22 season.
The penalty he saved 10 years ago, was from Tavernier's only penalty before taking them for Sevco.
Butland's overall record before Saturday was
Faced 40 penalties and only saved 4.
( 1 of those saves was in a under 20s game )
Matt O'Riley must surely be embarrassed.
Joe Hart has also had a recent woeful record at saving penalties but he actually had a 25% success rate before he joined Celtic.
Maybe Butland has finally realised standing BEHIND the line wasn't such a good idea ?.

I now know why Butland was surprised and in shock that he actually managed to save a penalty.
Craig Gordon in disguise.

Guys, every shot Mat took was a right to left spinner, even his goal was right to left. If there is no variation, any keeper would dive in anticipation of a right to left effort.
I'm sure McInnes won't want the Title clinched on his midden and i expect a tough game on Wednesday.
{Ed007's Note - Apparently it's been noted over the years that Butland is slow going down to his left hand side.}
