IF Celtic were interested in signing Van Hooijdonk (and everybody knows inc BR) we need a striker, then should young Sydney sign for Norwich and we then take a 22 yrd old, Adam Idah, from them on loan, serious questions must be asked. ?
How have the club and those who's responsibility it is to scout and sign players, allowed it to get to this stage with less then 48hrs of this transfer window left?

Pedro, We. Don’t know . There are many things we don’t know but it won’t stop us fans from making big issues of them and going down with the Titanic. We don’t know if Van Hooijonk is any better than Idah . We don’t know if he is like his father and likely to be moody and possibly a bad influence amongst the players . We don’t know how well or poor IdH will be when he settles in at Celtic.
I imagine he will have to perform well to get the support on side.

It’s got nothing to do with where he’s coming from.
Our fans are not happy because we’re going to sign a striker who doesn’t score many goals in the Championship.
Hooper was always a goal machine from non-league through to league One.

I would say a striker who scores 1 goal in every 2.5 games in the top division, is going to be a better striker than a 1 goal in every 8 games in the Championship.
Surely Celtic must see this.

On Van Hooijdonk Jnr,
like many I have no idea if he would be good, bad or just indifferent in a Celtic jersey although his goals in Holland, for me, make him better than OH and given his size he offers something different to Kyogo.
Bit that aside, what I do know is that Norwich, should they sign him, must think him far better than the player they're happy to move on to us.

Av seen the boy with Norwich and Ireland and he's never stood out at any time. i would think he'd be behind oh that's just my opinion for what it's worth.

Stengo, the year we signed hooper he was top scorer in the league and out scored Andy carrol who went onto move for 30 million.

Hooper was one of the top scorers in the championship the season we signed him so no I don't remember any fans saying the same things.

Stengo . hooper had almost 200 games under his belt and a 2.5 scoring avg before he signed for us . this is biscuit tin at its worst.

We should of went for somebody like Gary Hooper, who was a prolific scorer in the, lower leagues, we are not in Europe, we just need to win the league, we need someone who can score against Scottish defences, someone who has a terrible goal scoring record is not what we need, I hope he pvoves me wrong, but if he is not a prolific scorer by now then he won't become one.
