i think today we seen a wee boy become a man. stephen welsh, he read the game had loads of pace and defended when he had to. looked like he had been there for years. i hope the young man pushes on and becomes a true celt. well done young man hail hail.

I see a clip of him celebrating Eddy’s freekick goal as if he was in the stand with the fans. He had a great debut.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 22:49:13
Agreed robroy, wee Welsh did himself proud. He could become a future star for us. HH.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 20:07:13
If the top 6 stays as it is I think we will have played all the other 5 teams twice away from home.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 21:03:55
They will still make sure we have at least two away games after the split and that is why this unique fixture jiggery pokery - peculiar to The SPFL/ SFA is a total farce.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 23:09:21
Whatever the jiggery pokery is we can deal with it and take pleasure in doing so by keeping on winning. It's what we do. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2020 10:03:08
What yous wanting? to play our final 5 at home and Sevco to play their's away😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2020 11:16:46
In ANY other league teams play the exact same games, home and away. The 'split' contradicts fair-play and because it's the top six sides (at the time of the split) , it dictates unbalanced/ extra away games. Since the start of the year, the fixture list has allocated us five home games and nine away (before the split) and no matter how much you say the fixtures even themselves out - clearly the timing of these 'random' matches guarantees we play twice as many away from home - from January until the end of the season. If and when we win nine-in-a-row, it will be due to a magnificent 'away' achievement.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 19:10:59
Some fans getting a bit carried away I think. If Sevco win their game in hand then there are only 4 points in it with lots of games to play including 2 against us. It's only February, and whilst the last couple of games have gone our way it's far from over. Keep the faith but remember to keep it real too. HH.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I bet you're a riot at nights out, Besty 😋

02 Feb 2020 19:39:35
Always Keep the Faith but by feck mr pessimistic we will win 9 in a row by double figures.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 19:44:57
Av picked the wrang week tae gie up the glue ed 😭😭.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You still hammering the Tipp-Ex thinner but?}

02 Feb 2020 20:19:21
Here's a question for someone in the know to educate me if and I know it's a big if the trifc make it through to the next round of the Europa then when will they play their game in hand as it's currently scheduled for a European week and if they can't play it then they're in danger of having to play it after the split.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 20:24:59
Haha Ed, 😜I'm not saying they'll catch us but it's just a bit early to be celebrating. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I always celebrate a Celtic win.}

02 Feb 2020 21:14:08
If Sevco get into the last 16 of the Europa and Scotland beat Israel in the play offs there will be no midweek spaces until after the last game before the split on the 4th April. The following week is the Scottish cup semi final. If St. Johnstone or Sevco are still in the cup then I can’t see it being played before a big semi final. It would then be the middle of April before it could potentially get played.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 21:35:59
It's a bit of a mess they should have been told to play it when we did but th more turmoil for them the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 22:05:22
It is a mess Jaw. We Played our game away to Hearts on the Wednesday 18th December. Sevco couldn’t play that midweek because they played on the Sunday before and then the Friday night after. Bad planning from the league and broadcasters but any extra pressure on them is good news.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 23:30:11
No matter when they play it the league will be as good as won by then anyway.
By the way are all the panty wetting non believers who called some of us deluded when we were saying we would win the league by double points margin calmed down a bit now? 3 seasons on the trot now at the winter break we've had the same ones reaching for the Tenner's.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2020 07:52:27
*I meant Tenna's 🤣.

02 Feb 2020 18:58:22
What did everyone make of their red card today? On first viewing I thought it was a soft free kick never mind a booking or sending off. But watching the replays the defender pulls leigh down. But did that make it a red?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 19:10:58
It was last man. If it's a free kick then it's a red.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 19:11:20
Going by the book, it’s a straight red. But does seem harsh.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 20:16:24
I thought a bit harsh, but thank you Replay on TV. When you look another angle the ref got it right. Not being biased tho. Griff was maybe a little lucky himself tho. See what happens there. ED007 Can Griff get punished now even tho he got a yellow or is that it dealt with. ?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The ref dealt with it on the park so that's it.}

02 Feb 2020 20:19:16
Behave yerselves, it's a red every day of the week. If that had been us v the dead mob they would've been screaming for the offending CFC defender to walk. The rules are the rules, goal scoring opportunity, you walk.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 21:05:55
Frimpong got the very same punishment from Gollum.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 21:07:19
the rule was clear. was he denied a clear goal scoring opportunity? and the aswer is yes.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 21:30:06
Ed did a Hibs player not get a retrospective red card for a foul on Izaguirre at Celtic Park a couple of seasons ago although the ref booked him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I have no idea.}

03 Feb 2020 13:16:48
Was he not booked for the pushing afterwards? as their player was booked too. If that's the case then they could ban him.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 18:40:38
Odsonne has turned into some player. I used to think he was gangly like Morten Wieghorst, but his close control is superb and he uses his physique really well now. He seems happy in the hoops, but I expect our resolve will be seriously tested this summer.

Incidentally, these are some of the qualities we've admired in Rogic off and on for so long. When you see a player who can do that every game it shows you, I feel, that Rogic is a bit of a fraud really.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 19:41:19
If we didn't have Edouard we would struggle big time.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 21:19:01
Rogic is class👍.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He is that, sadly not just Celtic class though.}

03 Feb 2020 12:02:27
Utter Nonsense Ed 007🙄.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There's some great well thought points in your argument there 👏 have you ever thought of a career in the legal profession?
Now can explain to me how a player that has been here for eight seasons managing only 181 apps (averaging 22 games a season & 58 mins per appearance) plays as a CAM in for Celtic in the SPFL and has only managed a paltry 37 goals and 33 assists (that's a goal every 5 games and an assist every 5.5 games) in his Celtic career and who has spent 527 days out injured (missing 94 matches) is Celtic class?
Rogic is injury prone and struggles to last 90 mins, he is lazy & inconsistent and disappears for large portions of the games he is actually fit for, pitching in with the odd wonder goal now and again doesn't make him Celtic class.}

02 Feb 2020 18:27:47
An important 3 points today on a terrible surface also no injuries. I am just waiting on the outcry to get Leigh Griffiths a retrospective ban . While not condoning the incident I don't think it was any worse than the Morelos stamp on Ralston last year that went unpunished even after the referee had a second look at it . So we will just have to wait and see. As long as we keep winning there will be calls for every challenge that we make to be punished.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 18:58:44
Don’t think you can as he was carded on the pitch pal 👍.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 19:03:09
I could be wrong but ed could maybe help with this. but because Griffiths got a yellow card they can't do anything about it as the ref dealt with it at the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The ref dealt with it so that's it done and dusted.}

02 Feb 2020 19:06:54
BT were certainly going over board with the Griff incident. They must have shown it 20 times with Fat Swally crying that if it was morelas it would have been a straight red (he mustn't watch the orcs that much)

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 19:18:36
Thanks ed, think that's the first time I've been right lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And now that's twice..... think about it lol

02 Feb 2020 19:19:33
It was more a misstep as a stamp. Fella caught Griffith's foot and he's trying to avoid standing on the guy.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 20:07:12
i think griffiths may have got booked for his push on logic rather than the stamp i wouldn't be suprised if he gets banned, i thought christie was outstanding when he came on certainly grabbed the game by the balls, haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 21:11:10
guys today we had a referee who had a terrific game and got EVERY decision in my opinion correct. we need more of that kind of officiating in the run in.

Hope u r right gd positivity. Did you hear that lads.
Its in our hands we seem to be handling the dodgy teams who shut shop. I'm happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 17:40:45
Not as confident as that yet UB; although we are in a great position, whereas they have stuttered and faltered, just as they did after last seasons winter-break.
The 'random' fixture list gave us SEVEN away games out of the first nine of 2020 and we need to keep up the momentum at Fir Park on Wed right through to Pittodrie on Feb 16.
The players have responded brilliantly to the Sevco setback and we have two new signings, Eddy-on-fire, a resurgent Griffiths and hopefully Frimpong and Elounoussi on the way back. COYBIG.

Agree4 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 17:45:36
Motherwell, aberdeen and livi all away coming soon so don't count your chickens.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 19:10:20
We still have some very tough away games and have to play them twice so nothing has won yet.
They will drop even more points so hopefully this will be wrapped up before the split.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 15:37:15
Delighted with 3 points. All subs played a big part in victory, shows what I know when I was shouting for Klimala. Only negative, their goal almost carbon copy of the mobs against us and was from their first or second corner. We on the other hand had 15 last time I looked and done very little with them. Small gripe though and can be happy with outcome.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 16:05:47
I think you will see Klimala in team soon for I think Griffiths may get a retrospective red card for stamping on the Hamilton player and there was no need for him to it then getting involved with another player, just cool it Leigh.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 16:21:32
Cant give him a red card. The ref seen it and dealt with it already.

Agree4 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 18:16:28
Unless there is a rule Change ☺️.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 18:22:35
Maybe The S. F. A, will make a new rule for Celtic only, a Red card even if the ref saw it, but if you play for Sevco the referee will not see it but the compliance person will deal with it in a couple of days, and a red card will be handed out.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 15:29:27
Resident stattos, I'm thinking Leon, did we cause direct action from their keeper straight from any of the 15corners we had? Other than that minor issue we got there in the end. Young Welsh looks decent and could turn defence into attack with his pace.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 15:12:04
Great 3 points a battle as always there the young man Welsh can be happy tonight never put a foot wrong and adds to the squad.

Ignore my last message 🙈😂
The game changed when we brought on Ed’s favourite player 👀😂.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Yeah Hayes did do well when he came on.}

02 Feb 2020 14:34:47
Hayes certainly made the difference when he came on, just what we needed.

02 Feb 2020 15:02:50
Wow amazing tactical change ntcham off. offers a lot not often enough Christie everytime glad he's back. He knows wher the goal is. Well Lenny and the bhoys.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 15:13:57
The game was crying out for more directness and pace, but I feel there is an apprehension and self inflicted mental-block, when it comes to these pitches. However, the substitutions (and I have queried these at times from NL) changed the game to reflect the difference in class and points between the two sides - even though Accies did cause our defense some problems and exploit a weakness.
Delighted with the win, the four goals and the three points; Well done NL and the team.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 14:02:34
This is dire today, sometimes I think as soon as we turn up to these plastic pitches, we have a thing in our mind that we aren’t going to play well. We haven’t tested their keeper all game . After yesterday result, we should have come out all guns blazing. It’s all in front of them.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 15:05:16
But of positively Quinn at least once would be gd
Great second half this week great first half last week. The subs where amazing. Hamilton really physical and run at us. Hamilton also played magic when down to ten men our subs changed the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 16:29:15
Fitness guru, you are right regarding both halves. When I wrote that it was one nil to them and it was. Quite flat. I did post another message pretty much directly after. I just feel we have a little mental block on these dire plastic pitches, after yesterday’s result I was worried we were going to miss out on an opportunity . 🍀👍.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 17:45:28
Fair doos quinn1888 first half flat second half gd. The energy is always higher when Christie is on just sometimes I think ntcham is not direct enough or not direct often enough. We do lose a few goal with other teams scoring first IV stopped panicking when that happens as we have dealt with this scenario many times and won. Hail hail to you. Quinn.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 13:33:49
Have said it before on this forum - am not a fan of Julien. For a big guy he gets bossed physically and rattled mentally far too easily. Needs to bulk up to be able to handle physical aspect of the game. Can you imagine a 50:50 between him and Mjallby or Bobo?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 14:42:27
Wind your neck in. He’s a fantastic player who scored some really important goals. He can have a blip the odd time fgs.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 14:53:46
You must be watching a different player mate. Sure has chipped in with a few key goals, but as a defender he is judged on his defensive qualities first and foremost - which are not at the required level IMHO.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 15:18:52
He's more of a footballer than a 'stopper' and Ajer is no Bobo either by the way. Probably why CB was an area we needed to add cover. However, the windae's shut noo and as long as Jullien keeps scoring -to make up for any mistakes - then I'm happy enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 15:47:21
Celtic has conceded a total of 14 goals this season which demonstrates what a good player Julian his.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's 15 league goals after today.}

02 Feb 2020 16:13:00
How many from corners or free kicks. Should always be a man on the post every time.

NL has brought in the players i wanted giving Welsh and Aranzi a chance for Suminovic and Johnston.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 11:44:28
I know everyone likes to see experience players brought in to help with the 10 in a row but it's good to see Lenny giving our youth a chance. Welsh - I've never seen him play but good luck to him. Our development squad need encouragement that they will play for 1st team at some point so it's not always good for Celtic in general to buy buy. Hail hail.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Give it 10 mins and the first mistake he makes will see him being slaughtered and labelled not good enough etc etc.}

juve plotting a 150 mill bid for van dyke this summer. we sold him for 12 mill he was always going to be the player he is when he was at us. when it comes to edouards turn 30 mill is the starting price celtic should make this clear.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 12:16:40
We made money of him when he went to Liverpool, we will also be due a percentage of any future fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 12:22:13
as I said mate he was always going to be the player he is when he was at us and we got 12 mill for him. he was ballon dor runner up this year aswell. no more bargain buys from us we've proved the palyers wee produce can go on to the top level. so Edouard will be next so bidding starts at 30 at least.

Agree0 Disagree0

Taking Mrs T out for Sunday lunch today (my ex bears will be relieved lol)
But as much as I enjoyed them dropping more points, it only helps us if we win today, so please Mr Lennon stop going on about plastic pitches until after the game and if we have won then moan about the state of the surface.
PS Mr Lennon I need a win otherwise my appetite will be spoiled.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 09:36:24
ED has there ever been a game on a plastic pitch been cancelled due to heavy rain?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Off the top of my head I can't think of any.}

Yeah there was one about 2 weeks ago. can't mind team but Scottish lower league.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 10:15:10
Left back is still our weakest position and needs strengthened. The fact we have had to play Hayes there, who is not a full back, tells us that. We will need to cut our loses with Boli and get another left back in to rival Taylor for next season. The fans do moan out of frustration with the board. When was the last time we actually spent money on transfers in a season because for years we have made money on transfers?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 10:21:49
mate calm down the window has just closed. that mob droped points yesterday now let's kick on a cheer the bhoys to 9. let's worry about transfers in the summer.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 11:23:01
Well said U. I still wished we had signed the boy Melling for LB but transfers are over until the summer it’s time to give Ed a rest and get behind the Bhoys if and it’s a big IF we will have enough to see us win the treble.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's good to get back to just talking actual football mate.}

can't believe the reaction on here when it was reported we were after glen murray on loan for the rest of the season, i said all along he would have been a great signing until the season ends he absolutely ran the west ham defence ragged today.

How do these loan deals, with an option to buy work?, if Kouassi plays brilliantly in Belgium and Lenny realises that Kouassi should have been playing instead of Brown, once he was fit, can we cancel the option to buy part of the loan agreement, give Brown a coaching role and build the team around Kouassi?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2020 08:39:05
Probably could but that is as likely as Jozo playing 10 games in a row. He is rank.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 08:46:26
I think they have the option to buy just like every other team we also have the option to decline just like every other bid that comes in for any of our players.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 09:31:46
I don't think so wyllie otherwise what's the point in saying there's an option to buy? The price is agreed before the loan and Genk have the first refusal on that, the way we had with Edouard.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 10:09:37
Kouassi to replace Brown😂😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 10:14:09
If at the end of the loan they want to buy him then due to that clause we have to accept a bid from them for the agreed amount. We can't then demand a higher fee nor are we obligated to accept a lower fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 09:37:43
I was under the impression that if they have an option to buy then we must accept. Basically the fee has been agreed. Otherwise what's the point? We could agree a 1m fee then he plays well and we demand 5m. Doesn't make sense that way. Ed will know.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - An option to buy is a contractual obligation to sell at a fixed priced if both the buying club and player wish the option to be taken up. An obligation to buy is a contractual obligation to sell and buy at a fixed priced if the player wishes the option to be taken up.}

02 Feb 2020 10:39:30
Thanks Ed002.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

02 Feb 2020 11:02:38
I suppose the loaning club could always agree a fee which would allow them to break the obligation to sell but then that would just be a regular loan 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2020 12:41:56
Kouassi is a player. When Brown isn’t there we miss his leadership, experience and drive. Bit harsh to accept that from someone trying to break into the team. My fear is that the team is built around brown and he will be near impossible to replace.
