I was having a wee gander thru some comments on a fan forum on facebook and they were having a conversation on the current state behind the scenes and they were claiming that there's been a big bust up between the Lawwells and Desmond regarding the wasting of funds on pish from the summer window and that desmond has taken recruitment away from the son.

Hence why nothing spent in January. In turn Daddy lawwell backing the son and unhappy with desmond. Desmond reportedly said no funds available in january until players moved on and funds got back that was wasted.

That was the run down between 2 or 3 fans and the admin on the forum. Not sure where they're getting it from but it doesn't seem that far fetched and id say there is at very least some part of this will be true.

So the attitude is because you mucked things up (Lawells) we going to muck the season up just to spite you. Seriously!

Celtic have still made a net profit on transfers this season, as usual.

Totally understand that buzz but what i think they were getting at was the summer window was that bad desmond wasnt going to trust young lawwell with recruitment again. Another bad window and there might not be a net profit.
Like i mentioned chasa i doubt all that was mentioned is true but i think there is a good chance of a bust up behind the scenes of some sort, whether that be over recruitment/ funds etc, that would be anyones guess. But i do think recruitment is a very realistic one. Plus if desmond doesn't trust the current recruitment then its unlikely he will give them more money to plunder. One way or another its obvious something is up and we will find out about it sooner or later if people start getting sacked or walk.

DerryTim,
It been woeful for everyone and I would be more concerned, if there wasn’t any disagreements and fallouts on the back of this season so far.

100% agreed buzz. For the sake of how bad things are let's hope there's in fighting because as you said we are in even more serious trouble if they're not.

Think if DD was unhappy with current recruitment team in such terms they would be gone. Doubt he became a billionaire by having hissy fits then taking a huff. As mentioned somewhere else, he wouldn’t accept this in any of his other businesses, he would be ruthless. Can only hope that above the manager there is plenty of infighting, leading to a slaughter!

And yet he was happy to sell jota and starfelt oor dermot under lawells stewardship. cannot have it both ways.

DD decisions would be more of a policy thing rather than individual players I would think. And didn’t Starfelt want to leave, also, couldn’t really refuse Jota money ( his eyes were seeing $) . The pisser there is that we never spent adequately to replace them.
Only hope is that DD flecks off to sort his golf handicap out and leaves junior to progress the club, hopefully before the Lawell cult brainwash him.

You nailed it buzz: sell more than you buy. That’s all. The rest is static. Our fan-atical support reduced to brand loyalty at best. It’s $hite.

07 Feb 2024 18:20:27
I think if DD was unhappy at recruitment he’d have made a decision and communicated that before the January window.

09 Feb 2024 07:53:38
I can see any of that being true. Lawell can’t make the decision if DD says no. Just guys making rubbish up about stuff they would never know, even if it was true.
