Yesterday we had a penalty shoot -out to decide the Ulster Championship . For 2 nd year in a row Armagh lost .
Yesterday Armagh and Donegal both scored their first 5 penalties, all brilliant efforts. Donegal scored their 6th and Armagh 6th first poor effort was saved,
Remember these were all amateur players in taking crucial kicks in front of over 30,000.
How often do super paid Professional soccer players fail at penalties, yet these players all hit their shots low and into the corners .

All I ever did as a kid was hitting it inside left post as hard as possible should be basic science of the ball travelling its distance faster as keeper theirs.

Celtic have had a poor record for scoring penalties for as long as I can remember. If Buzz analysed the conversion rate over the years I'm sure I'd grimace at what the outcome would be. Surely BR should be getting the players to practice every day. It's not inconceivable the cup final could go to pens.

In the last 3 seasons,
Celtic have now received 40 penalties in all competitions and we’ve only scored 27 penalties.

We’re basically missing One penalty and scoring Two for every 3 penalties taken.
( 67% )

Tommy Gemmell was probably our last good long term penalty taker.
Robbie Keane was good but we only had him for half a season.

Celtic have never had a good penalty taker in my lifetime, shocking.

It isn’t shocking, Managers and players know that it is such a rare event for Celtic to get a penalty, they don’t prepare or practice taking pens .
After M O ‘R took his first penalty for us against Rangers if I was his manager, I would have banned him from ever taking a pen for Celtic again . We have had a poor record on scoring penalties this season and he stepped up and took a panenka penalty . A panenka penalty is a high risk attempt taking a penalty . He scored but I have to say, he was thinking of personal glory rather than team winning in a game which was vital for all Celtic fans . I think MO’R is brilliant but I cannot forgive this showing off
Seriously manager needs to name 3/ 4 players who are normally regulars and tell them they are our nominated penalty takers and list them in order . I think as Phliphop says it’s a matter of hitting ball low and hard, but I would say inside either post . I wonder what happened with Idah’s last penalty for us, it seemed to be so bad he must have slipped or something for no professional could take such a bad penalty.

Does BR get players practising pens? I hope so. At the time I saw the MOR pen at the crumbled one, my gut told me he went Panenka coz he didn't trust himself to go hard left or right. He got lucky. I might be doing him a disservice but that's my gut and he got found out a bit on Sat. He's done very well for us but does anyone think Butland was slow to get down for the goal on Sat?

Yet in semi via dons they were all pretty good.

I think it’s a bit unfair to blame M O’R for what he described as a rubbish penalty on
Saturday, he had a very long delay before he got chance to take it . Delay made it hard for pen taker, . In the penalty shootout against the sleep, all our penalty takers just stepped up and took penalty without trying anything clever .
In the matches this season that we have got penalties, our penalty taker has tried to do something clever and has become unstuck.
