guys do not shoot me down, and i do not have any science to back up my prediction but i think we will hammer st johnstone by at least 4 goals tomorrow. there is a real performance in that team and we need to back them to achieve it. hh.

What team have you been watching our defence has been torn apart with a lone striker if we win if we need to stop losing set pieces and hope that celtic have to be careful because this is the most important game they have to win nothing else will be the league finished and it has to be players playing for there manager if they don't it will be chaos.

At start of season we all said nothing else mattered except 10 in a row.
Looking at some stats and even if we averaged our league form to end of season we would finish with 87/ 88 points.
In season 17/ 18 we won league with 82 points and in season 18/ 19 we won it with 87 points.
Losing 4 games and then 5 games.
Leagues not over by a long shot, tomorrow could and I think will start a strong roll leading up to ibrox.
Tie up Cup final and start nipping away at their lead, keep the faith, 10 in a row is alive and well.

If Celtic won the last game against Sevco. We got hammered the last game against them not just lost like we got hammered the two games before that also it's not a knee jerk reaction its fact facts that in Season 17/ 18 we had a good manager in charge since then our performances have been poor to be polite it's never a knee jerk reaction to the issues we have just now it's fact that we have very little plan when we are playing and most certainly no plan B substitutes are always 60 plus minutes and never a change in formation in state of play all other teams know what we will play it's just embarrassing.

Sorry but playing frimpong at RB just does not work. The lad is a poor defender and get caught out up the pitch far too often leaving tons of space.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2020 00:12:59
No way should Frimpong be right back or right wing back, I think the boy is very talented, but he has to play more forward, he just doesn't have a defensive cell in his body,

Ed 007 if we lose tomorrow I'd just put your phone and laptop away and take a week off.

Anyway to get away from the gloom and doom I'm beginning to feel like I need counselling. I was just reading an article there about Maradona. I saw him play for Argentina against Scotland at Hampden in 1979 the year after Argentina won the World Cup when he was 19 and scored his first goal for his country. I travelled in myself on the train to see him because even at that stage he was being hailed for his talent.

I didn't see Pele in the flesh but I've seen some fantastic players over the years but Diego was beyond a doubt the best football player I've ever seen.

So lads whose the best player you've ever seen in the flesh and whose your greatest Celt. Two names allowed only no two from six Timallloy permutations allowed.

For me (1) Maradona and (2) Larsson.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Maradona is by far the best player ever to play the game but I never seen him live. I really can't choose the best player I've seen live but Paul McStay is the greatest Celtic I've seen playing.}

05 Dec 2020 18:14:40
Ed McStay is next on my list. The best midfielder of my time and what many forget nice Paul was as hard as nails. I don’t think we’ve had anybody close since at splitting a defence with one pass.

Kaka and Larsson for me JFP.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Dec 2020 18:30:42
I would say Messi is the best I’ve seen in the flesh.
He’s played against Celtic 6 times and scored 8 goals.
Messi has only scored more goals against Arsenal (9) in European competitions.
I’ve witnessed loads of great Celtic players in the last 40 years of watching Celtic and Larsson for me was Magnificent.

Don't know who the best I've seen is as I've seen a lot over the year's Mcstay mcgrain and Burns are my all time hero's Larsson was different gravy but as a curve ball the best individual one off performance that always sticks in my mind was Robert prosineki what a player he was that night in paradise.

Have to say messi for the best I’ve in flesh .

From Celtic players mcstay dalglish Henrik And Lubo
I’m my time with honourable mentions for McClair Nicholas (even though he’s a ahole) and big roy.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've seen CR7 and a young Giggs & Beckham, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Raul, Figo and Bobby Carlos win the CL at Hampden against Ballack, Paul Scholes & Keane being the best midfield pairing in Europe, Berkamp & Terry Henry, Maldini, Seedorf, Kaka, Crespo & Pirlo playing at Old Trafford........
It's so difficult to pick a best but I guess if you held a gun to my head I would have to say Roy Keane 😁 in all of God's creations he stands up there with anything...

Rafa van der vaart as an 18yr old at celtic park was unreal. Really thought he was going to be the best of his generation. Messi cr7 iniesta xavi all unreal. Big Ron. saw him at Barcelona and was mesmerised then managed to see him at old trafford for real madrid. Always remember nesta saying one of the best sights in football is ronaldo running with the ball.

Best Celtic player I've seen is an impossible question to answer, but it could be anyone of Johnstone, Hughes, Connelly, Dalglish or Larsonn, best foreign player is Maldini, best non Celt is a guy called Hamilton, Willie or Johnnie or something, who played for Hearts, at the end of his career, I was young, and all I remember is he had a huge beer belly, but he could do things with a football that were amazing .

06 Dec 2020 11:37:33

I’m old enough to have seen Charlie Tully and he was a bit special, but the best display of football I’ve ever seen was Di Stefano in the 7-3 European Cup final at Hampden. I was in the old schoolboys’ enclosure and I can relive the buzz to this day!

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Dec 2020 16:56:48
I think too much has been made of the Dundee United team photo which was taken last week probably to sell calendars for next year.
There’s a 15 minute rule in place and I don’t think it would take 15 minutes to take a photograph.
It’s looks like the drama queens from the Southside are looking for a free weekend.

Ed007 I was between messi and Ronaldo but just thought messi edged it . But to paraphrase you if you held a gun to my head I would say dalglish was the the best player I seen in the flesh for Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Thankfully I can't remember Dalglish playing for us as I can't stand the man and I've argued with an uncle of mine for years about his credentials as a true Celtic legend just because they're friends from back in the day.
He was a world class player to be fair though and I can understand why fans of a certain vintage go on about him but growing up he was always a Liverpool player (legend) more than a Celtic one.
Can a player be a true legend at 2 different clubs...... 🤔🤔..... discuss while I'm away to my nest lol.}

RB Ajer
CB Duffy

LM Laxalt

Eddie with Christie playing right off him.

Back 4 just defend.
CMs to protect Back 4.
Frimpong and laxalt to play like wingers.
Christie Eddie to interchange and get into the box.

First and foremost we need to find a bit of solidity. 6 defenders in this line up but it can be attacking too.

We will win our next few league games beat Lille and win the Scottish Cup. Gub Sevco and it will be like the last few months never happened when we win 10 in a row and Another Scottish Cup in the same season.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Dec 2020 12:11:38
Celtic will need to step up a gear or 2 tomorrow.
St. Johnstone are unbeaten in 90 minutes since they conceded 2 injury time goals to Celtic a couple of months ago.
They’ve played 10 games since and have only lost on penalties to Dundee Utd in a league cup section match after a goalless draw.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 Dec 2020 12:22:48
As has been mentioned below; we are apprehensive about every game these days and even at Celtic Park where we have lost four on the trot in all competitions - unheard of in recent years.
It's easy to say things have to get better and Sevco will hit a bad run, but it's safe to say they will not hit as bad a run as we have and I a wee bit worried, we have given ourselves a mountain to climb, with no compass, guide or sure-footing to recover from another fall.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - So you think TRIFC can't lose 1 and draw 2 games out of 13, they've drew 2 out of 15 so far. That's our run in the league, we've lost one game and drew 2 in 13 and there's an absolute meltdown over it.}

05 Dec 2020 13:54:43
Of course that scenario is possible Ed; but in turn we have to go on an unbeaten run home and away for the rest of the campaign and at present that looks unlikely while the current goalkeeping and defending shortfalls continue - not to mention other hindrances.
If we could string at least two wins together it would be a start?
Mistakes are being repeated every game as are questionable team selections and substitutions and although NL has spoken of dealing in the Jan transfer window, there are six domestic games to go including a Cup Final and we are all hoping rather than expecting these days.

Agree3 Disagree0

05 Dec 2020 13:49:30
We have the best squad by a country mile, we just need to prove it. Know it’s not the popular opinion but I thought we looked sharper going on the offensive against Milan . At the back, gawd only knows. For three of the goals, we had plenty of bodies back, but they keep running into each other like keystone cops and not looking around, leaving people unmarked inside the box.
Hanker for the days of no nonsense defenders like Bobo, Elliot, Mialby etc. But at the mo I would play a flat back four ( all defensive minded, not wingbacks) just to try and find a solid base and build a bit of confidence. Need to get back to basics, and hopefully buy time until the board get their end sorted.

He proved doesn't matter if we lose he won't lose his job still picking the same players and nothing getting better we need a complete clearout as soon as possible and get players who want to be there and win stop the rot thus was the same and Sun will be again no trust in the manager or the board leads to getting humiliated st Johnstone are on good form I can't see anything but gloom its sad.

Agree2 Disagree0

I’m surprised Lenny hasn’t tried a 4-4-2 this season because it’s the formation he’s used regularly in management before.
I was looking at how Dan Petrescu usually lines up his teams.
He normally goes with a 4-3-3 in an attacking formation.
Petrescu sometimes uses 4-1-3-2 which I think could work with Celtic.
Calmac could play the holding role with Rogic in front with Elyounoussi and Christie on either side. We would also have the 2 strikers up front.
I don’t know if that would be leaving Calmac with too much on his plate because Rogic isn’t the fittest of players to track back and help.
Soro could play the holding role with Calmac in front of him or it could be easier to just play a solid 4-4-2.

Agree3 Disagree0

05 Dec 2020 16:07:22
Totally agree with that because it's logical and practical; something I've not seen enough of this season under NL. Especially when we have refused to play a front pairing out of all the striking choices we have long enough for them to remember each other's names.
However. a solid back-line is a priority right now as results show.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Dec 2020 16:17:25
Buzz bang on I just don’t get playing with one striker Eddy and have your pick playing off him Ajeti, Kimala or Griffiths.

And four at the back when we’re shipping goals has got to be the starting point.

Big Duffy needs told stop trying to play football player just head it or kick it the way you’re facing. If that’s row Z fine.

He’s also shown he can take abuse but he needs to start dishing it out.

agree the league is not as bad as every one is making out. its Europe that has made us look bad. the sevies have been a few games in front of us all season which is making there lead look worse than it actual is. silly to be conceding the league just now. i think we will win league and all this laughter from the sevies the last 2 month will make the league more sweeter plus it will be 10 in a row.

One of my friends has given me two decent priced each way bets for today at Navan in Ireland

Navan 1.08 A Great View 18/ 1 (Sky pay 5 places) but Betfair go 11/ 1 with their each way edge 7 places)
Navan 2.52 Pakens Rock 20/ 1 (with Sky 5 places but 12/ 1 with Betfair each way edge 7 places)

The choice is yours but in these big race fields the extra places can make a big difference albeit a smaller profit.

What the green brigade need to do if they want Lennon out is to shut up cause with the way celtic are playing the now hevwill do that himself this way of protesting is making the board unite even more. The answer is staring everyone in the face what wrong right now is stop thinking about 10 in a row they need to think of training today how to defend better tackle better then lay down the foundations better then take that into game one back to basics forget 10 concentrate on 1 game at a time defend first then the rest take care of itself those players should be getting drilled everyday on defending.
