New image uploaded to the
Celtic Player Sightings page entitled, Our 1st 11 with the exception of GK is strong but our squad has some holes. Some good young players in reserve, maybe time to use them. Also for me I think we can do better at LB.

Christie where McGregor is and McGregor where Brown is, sorted.

03 Jul 2020 11:00:49
No Christie in the starting line up? Surprising.

It's more to do with the squad. Not overly fussed who starts and who doesn't, all good players. We have some serious gaps in the squad it will be interesting to see which players fill those gaps.

Whats the window wishlist bhoys.
A keeper or two. tbh I was a bit surprised about the forster situation. I genuinely thought he would be right up for it.
But I guess there still sometime to go. i don't think its completely dead.
My priority is a LB. one that can get to the bye line. And has a bit of stature.
A Cb to challenge ajer. i have watched a lot of games in lockdown and ajer imo had a pretty dodgy time of things last season.
I still think something could be done in the middle of the park also.
But totally agree with what was said previously. There are games especially at CP where we could be giving some youngest a chance. ofcourse it a big year but some could contribute in some games. (as long as we are five upšŸ¤£šŸ¤£) .
Hope everyone is well.

For me GK number one priority CB Priority and if any more a striker.

03 Jul 2020 01:14:34
Agree Tony. Still think we'll get Forster. A commanding centre half to play beside Jullien should be next.

By the looks of it we can't rely on elhamed to be fit so for me also a RB.

03 Jul 2020 08:30:56
Goalie, Centre Back, Left/ right winger and a Broony clone.

03 Jul 2020 12:08:57
Frimpong Liamlennon?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jul 2020 13:32:12
Think we need another to challenge frimpong and without sounding to negative he has a lot of weaknesses.

03 Jul 2020 15:23:37
Goalkeeper, maybe 2. LB if Bolingoli is still on the naughty step. RW to challenge Forrest (Roberts) . CB, preferably left footed.

A mate has just text me saying Forster will start for Southampton on Sunday. He has the remainder of this season to stake his claim for their number 1 jersey. I don't think this is true I'm not sure they'd be allowed to register him for the squad at this time but I could be wrong.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Jul 2020 18:51:06
Not sure he can play for them this season. He was registered to us for the full season.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 19:40:38
His loan deal with us has expired I was thinking it was more he's not in their premier League squad that gets registered.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 20:46:07
Did Southampton have a recall clause inserted in loan deal? If they did, that says to me that they would of registered him and if they needed him back could play him.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - After a quick Google it seems that on the 11th of June Premier League clubs were reportedly been told players returning from loan spells this summer would not be eligible to play when the season resumed - unless there are "exceptional circumstances" such as selection issues caused by illness or injury.
It says that it was under constant review and since then I can't see anything that they changed the ruling.}

Official from the club 17.000 on waiting list but don't expect to read that in the rags.

02 Jul 2020 14:53:34
The record have done a piece on it.

02 Jul 2020 15:05:16
Someone from inside Celtic Park also stated that Celtic had in fact sold more season tickets than Sevco. Which obviously comes as no surprise. šŸ€.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 17:03:19
Celtic SLO said more than 40,000 last week. C.V. or no C.V. it was always going to be a sell out.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 21:30:25
Absolutely no chance there are 17,000 on the waiting list. The club are trying to scaremonger current season ticket holders into renewing. Last week there were just over 7000. If there were 17,000 the club would not have extended the renewal deadline last week.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 21:56:25
Ice man you think the club is daft enough to take a chance getting caught out in that type of lie your on the glue.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 22:24:45
I am currently on the waiting list and know for a fact that last week there were just over 7,200 on the waiting list. Fast forward 7 days and all of a sudden there are 17,000. Not a chance. Ask yourself this if there were 17,000 on the waiting list Why did the club extend the renewal date for a third time two days before the deadline and not just sell the remaining seats to fans on the waiting list.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jul 2020 07:10:39
Ice Man
The club extend the season book deadline every year nothing sinister in it. Also maybe they are just showing a wee bit loyalty to support with season books at this difficult time.
Ed can a PLC realise statements that are inaccurate.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm no expert but I wouldn't imagine so as it could be seen as misleading shareholders, investors and sponsors by claiming the business is stronger than it actually is.}

Now that FF has decided not to return to Celtic Park. I would like to give my take on the next first choice keeper.
Vaclav Hladky is my choice for the following reasons, He was the second best keeper in scotland last season.
He is a good age can still develop and has a excellent chance of increasing in value which is the club DNA.
A number of previous young keepers have come to scotland and are now top class international keepers, FF Schmicheal Randolph. I am sure you can up with others
There have been others mentioned some are unknown quantities with little knowledge of British footbal and some are getting on in age.
Scott Bain and thegood young keepers at celtic aren't yet up to the role for a full season.

Some keepers at the lesser teams look good as they are having to concentrate a bit more and see more of the ball
different coming to a club like Celtic where thereā€™s pressure and less of the ball.
Massive season no time for experiments.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 16:06:45
FF was an experiment at one time and he started 10 in a row whoever comes in will have big shoes to fill.
Vaclav Hladky is possiblely the best of all options.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 17:29:03
Are we kidding ourselves that the st Mirren keeper is a choice to be our number 1 in the most important season off our clubs history. are we not taking this seriously by going after mediocre talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 22:04:22
To be fair to the lad he looks decent, but I'm with u scoop, no risks. I would be happy enough to sign him but as back up to a new gk and bain as 2nd choice. I wouldn't mind giving bain the pre season to stake his claim before trying again for forster. The big man might fancy it if he goes back down n misses all the fuss.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 06:44:09
im hearing the fraser foster move might still happen the big man is wanting a permanent move wile Celtic want a loan. Celtic are trying to get the asking price down. ed007 could you clear this up for us mate is there still a chance big fraser could sign.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'd say there's still a slim chance of Forster returning as there's been some amount of BS being reported over the last few days with people just making stuff up to look as if they know what's going on.}

02 Jul 2020 10:41:01
The papers yesterday said he decided to stay at Southampton after Hasenhuttl promised him a fair crack at the jersey. Now they're saying he'd have come if the transfer was a straight permanent deal rather than a loan with an option. The things you can get away with if you declare it came from a confidential source. If he was worth Ā£10M at his peak then a few injuries, a lack of playing time and a global C.V. should dictate that they'd need to have an asking price which reflects that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yet there was some places claiming there was an option to buy in the loan deal which means the price was agreed between the Clubs and it was Forster who turned us down. then - as you say, Kev - it changed to Hasenhuttl would give him a chance to win back the No.1 spot.}

02 Jul 2020 11:30:06
I might be being cynical but with 9 in a row, Moi re-signing and the Adidas deal maybe there was too much positivity for some journalists and this was a way to spread some misery around our support.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 12:20:35
Hi Ed, hope you and yours are well mate. If big Forster doesnā€™t come back to us, have you seen much of Padt. I thought that he looked pretty solid from what i can find and donā€™t think he would cost us a fortune considering the importance of this next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We're doing OK mate thanks and we hope you and the family are doing well. I've not seen anything of Padt to be honest mate, I remember he was well thought of when he was a youngster at Ajax but that's about it.
He only has a year to run on his deal so he might be available this summer.}

02 Jul 2020 13:03:59
Said yesterday don't believe the papers they're only interested in sevco feel good stories.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jul 2020 23:26:39
Ed my friend enrico read online 2 players have now left Burnley Robbie Brady and Jeff Hendrick. It also said wee Lenny had been keeping tabs on them . Do you think we will try and sign these guys?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I can't see is signing Hendrick and didn't Burnley trigger a years extension on Brady's contract, Enrico?}

02 Jul 2020 10:49:40
Hendrick is off to Milan apparently. yeah I know.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That might not be too far off the mark as apparently Hendrick fancies playing abroad and his agent has been hawking him around Europe.}

02 Jul 2020 09:00:17
Ed, who is going to be the next Celtic number 1; Bain, Hart, Marshall or someone not mentioned?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Right now I have no idea.}

02 Jul 2020 12:20:48
If it was up to you Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If it was up to me it would be Forster and I wouldn't go near either Hart or Marshall - surely there must be better options than those two but we all know Lawwell likes the cheaper options.
I'd take Barkas before Hart or Marshall, in fact I'd use Bain before them as well.}

02 Jul 2020 17:31:24
If hart or marshall come in I think they would either be behind bain or would lose their place pretty sharpish.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2020 18:00:25
I think the Southampton wanting Foster to fight for a first team place is just made up crap. I think Foster wanted a perm deal and when celtic offered him another loan he took the hump and the agent or Southampton came out with that story so our fans would be upset with him only my opinion though so do not shoot the messenger.
