We are being linked with Alfie Doughty from Charlton.

Ninja1967

1.) 06 Sep 2020 14:08:06
Well just had a look at him- at least he can beat a man on the outside and get to the BY LINE .

Is he worth a punt. don't see why not if we can't get Bakka.

2.) 06 Sep 2020 15:19:33
guys am scared to put ma boots on and go over the park in case am linked to celtic. i can go past men nae bother. only joking lads i know its all about the rumours.

3.) 06 Sep 2020 18:16:57
This must be a development project signing, if we are battling with LUTON to sign a Charlton player who was recently loaned out to kidderminster, this is a worry. not the lads fault but even I would struggle to put a positive spin on that sogjing

It cannot be right.

4.) 06 Sep 2020 19:47:25
Aye but Lubo apparently he played subbuteo when he was younger and always chose the green and white stripes, like u said was the case with Ryan Fraser so the boy MUST be a Tim eh 👀😂.

5.) 07 Sep 2020 12:39:29
Bowyer advising him to stay.

6.) 07 Sep 2020 14:22:31
Lubo

They dumped the interest in Ryan Fraser for him 😉😉😉.

7.) 07 Sep 2020 15:09:50
Bower is a banger anyways.

8.) 07 Sep 2020 16:13:03
For the “ older ones “ on here - remember the last time we had an Alfie in our team .
What a Conn that was 😉😉.

9.) 07 Sep 2020 17:19:25
@peterBoy I mind when the papers had headlines of us signing Alfie Finnbogasson every window for about 3 years. That was another con.

10.) 07 Sep 2020 19:18:25
Would rather have any of the Alfs in the posts above any day of the week than the current Sevco embarrassment.

03 Sep 2020 08:53:06
Sly reporter tweeting Celtic made enquiry for Colley Sampdoria. Celtic denied any bid last week.

Ninja1967

1.) 03 Sep 2020 12:13:24
Ronnie has been pretty spot on in terms of his Celtic coverage this season. Must be something in it, have you heard anything on Colley ED? First enquiry went in this week.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know of any bid but Celtic have previously scouted Colley and asked his agent to keep us up to date on his situation. I really don't see any deal for Colley happening.
Omar Colley (CB) A Plan B to Martin Hinteregger for Southampton. Roma were keen but opted for Gianluca Mancini who was seen as a better fix for perhaps a little less money. Newcastle and West Ham have shown an interest in talking with his agent. None of these options seem to be an improvement over Sampdoria though.}

2.) 03 Sep 2020 13:39:41
Thanks ED. Seems like he wants the premier league then? Or a higher up Serie A team. I assume we are actively looking for yet another CB?

In that case I wonder who else we are after.

{Ed007's Note - I think we found out early doors that our interest in Colley would be futile. What about someone like Lewis Gibson from Everton?}

3.) 03 Sep 2020 14:27:20
Is he left footed ED? I don’t know much about him. I have heard the name! Is he well sought after? Mbe Soh looked like a no brainer for me from PSG and we have been linked but that seems to have went quiet. Might be worthwhile getting a “Project” in to sit alongside what we have and to eventually take over from Ajer.

{Ed007's Note - He is left-footed and can play both CB and LB. After a couple of minor injuries Gibson's game time has dried up and without some sort of road map for his future the player has to consider options away from Everton. This may be a loan or sale which include old club Newcastle, Southampton, Ipswich, Brighton and possibly Celtic. Feyenoord, Fortuna Dusseldorf, Hoffenheim and AZ Alkmaar all offer options a little further afield.

4.) 03 Sep 2020 17:12:18
is that the boy that was on loan in germany ed?

{Ed007's Note - No mate. He left Newcastle at 17 in 2017 to join Everton and was loaned out to Fleetwood Town for the second half of the 2019/20 season.}

5.) 03 Sep 2020 17:45:43
Thanks for the information ED! Seems like there is plenty interest then, it wouldn’t be odd to see him move to England and develop. Seems like Dortmund are utilising the English market to tempt players into set ups where they won’t stagnate.

{Ed007's Note - A lot of teams on the continent are monitoring the youngsters in the Pub League these days which could maybe cause us some problems in the future when it comes to our targets down there.}

6.) 03 Sep 2020 22:20:46
i remember watching a game think it was stuttgart and a boy the had on loan from everton scored with a great strike. thought that's who it was. cheers ed.

{Ed007's Note - Jonjoe Kenny spent last season on loan to Schalke, it must be him, Liam.}

7.) 04 Sep 2020 08:29:57
Maybe we have enquired about the bhoy from Sampdoria but I don't think that means we have put an offer in. I am probably wrong though lol.

8.) 03 Sep 2020 22:52:00
thats it ed i remember now you say it.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

Italian website claiming Celtic have bid €8.5 million for Sampdoria Omar Colley CH.

Ninja1967

1.) 29 Aug 2020 18:15:08
Supposed to be linked with Southampton and villa as well. we’ve no chance if any them are in for him the one thing we had as a sweetener we don’t have anymore. Also the wages they can pay compared to us.

2.) 29 Aug 2020 22:42:31
Thats never going to happen if we do get ch it will be either Duffy or McKenna.

13 Aug 2020 21:40:26
Report Aimnes are in for Bolingoli loan with option to buy.

Ninja1967

1.) 13 Aug 2020 23:37:29
Bite their hand off if it's for the fee quoted at the end of the loan.

2.) 13 Aug 2020 23:50:53
I take it I'm alone in thinking Boli could have developed into an asset for Celtic. The lad really struggled with confidence for some reason, and panicked when he got the ball. But he stuck at it and showed up in some good places early on, in the European games if I recall. That's damning him by faint praise, I know, but I would have preferred to see him fail as a footballer at Celtic, if he had to fail, rather than be traduced like this. We have quarantine breakers in our own ranks. Football is full (fool as Ed007 pointed out the other day) of daft, arrogant pricks who don't give a toss about the ordinary punter. Maybe that's Boli Bolingoli, but something tells me he's not that guy. Or I'm a scunner for the underdog.

3.) 14 Aug 2020 00:29:45
Please let this happen 🙏.

4.) 14 Aug 2020 01:05:08
Give him away for free.

5.) 14 Aug 2020 07:24:57
Hes useless and was an accident waiting to happen.

6.) 14 Aug 2020 07:33:20
He was good going forward, but defending was horrendous, with no positional sense and too many costly mistakes.
Any potential was cancelled out by his wayward temperament and severe lack of discipline and stupidity - that may cost us very dearly?

7.) 14 Aug 2020 08:30:11
i would hold on to him for the length of his contract and stick him in with the boys. do not reward this clown with a transfer because i think this was his endgame and he has put 10iar in jeopardy. he knew exactly what he was doing.

8.) 14 Aug 2020 09:09:50
Send him to Spain, he seems to enjoy a couple of days there.

9.) 14 Aug 2020 10:08:42
Rob Roy So stick him with the boys and let his contract run down paying him his wages for 2-3 year however longs left on his contract? Not very good business sense that lol.

10.) 14 Aug 2020 10:24:20
weewhitey you are correct not good business sense, but it will send out the message to any body else who thinks they can do what they want and risk our club and all its employees. personally if it was me i would have taken a baseball bat to his knees, then fly him to spain.

11.) 14 Aug 2020 11:27:38
I would get-shot asap not just for the damage he has done; but he has a record of disruption - having shot-a-craw at Kilmarnock last term - and keeping him within any part of the club is asking for trouble.

13 Aug 2020 11:43:47
Ajeti deal done 5 million 4yr deal.

Ninja1967

1.) 13 Aug 2020 14:27:30
Don't think we should look too much into his season with west ham, his appearances were practically all from the bench in a west ham team who didn't exactly attack last season, 43 goals and 21 assists in 93 appearances for basel is a very good record, that's what we should be looking at.

Can't fault the club for pushing the boat out for this one, it can be frustrating when it seems the club are playing the waiting game with signings but that's the best part of 9m on a keeper and a striker, surely this points to 2 up top?

2.) 13 Aug 2020 14:50:26
We should be playing 2 up top every week the only time we should be playing 1 up top is against European teams of a higher class than us ie Barcelona bayern psg teams of that ilk when we don't want to concede any goals and be far more under pressure than we would against teams from the SPFL.

3.) 13 Aug 2020 15:27:59
Agreed, no celtic team should be playing with 1 striker in the league it's got to be 2 all day long and we certainly shouldn't be playing this 4231 just to suit certain players.
It's totally different in Europe when we need to be more compact and resilient against better teams which works well with 1 up top.

4.) 13 Aug 2020 15:48:21
This is a very good idea

At Basel, like Celtic, he didn't counter attack. he was a penalty box predator ( unlike Klamala in Poland)

Had Griff been fit, he would have gone 3 5 2 IMVHO . klimala isn't there yet . he is fine with space to run in to . but needs to learn the the penalty box predatory role

Eddy and ajeti could be very potent

Both young with great track records

This is bad mews for LG however and his situation has just got tougher

The Toney thing is confusing . unless of course eddy is in fact for the off after champions league

For all we know he already has a deal whereby a value has been agreed ( a trigger value) but if we qualify for champions league he gets a wee bonus. or Europa league a lesser bonus and then he can decide to stay or go.

5.) 13 Aug 2020 16:06:50
I think toney was a back up incase ajeti didn't sign. Then the had someone ready to go. I don't think there has been much interest in toney that is why their owner came out and tried to force us into a deal.

6.) 13 Aug 2020 16:13:06
Like every player i will judge him on what he does for us. Seen players coming with big reputations and flopping with Celtic and seen players i've never heard off being superstars for the hoops. Time will tell. Good money invested by the board. CH and a LB and no top players sold and i will cut the plc some slack.

7.) 13 Aug 2020 16:15:56
Marco, Toney looked like our first choice, this is the deal because we didn't get toney.
Would worry if we still look for toney as that all but spells the end for ed.

8.) 13 Aug 2020 17:35:19
Celtic tried for Ajeti last season but he opted for West Ham allegedly.

9.) 13 Aug 2020 18:47:51
It comes down to this, Toney might be a decent player but if you were to have one i think ajeti wins it.
The simple reason is, the Swiss league is far stronger than the English league 1.
Like I said in my previous post above, 13 appearances for West ham in which he didn't even start a league game can't be criticised when he played in a team who didn't attack and were flirting with relegation all season.
His record at basel speaks for itself and if it's a toss up between a guy who's scored a decent amount of goals and has experience playing in the UCL with a track record I would rather spend the money on him than spend the 9m being mentioned for Toney who isn't really playing in a decent league.

10.) 13 Aug 2020 19:19:19
Good point, well made MarkM88.

11.) 13 Aug 2020 22:34:14
Mark mate8 You simply can’t ignore his woeful performances in BPL. If West Ham were not creating much and 2 different managers both opted not to start him to try and change it then that signals alarm bells for me.
Why was he available if he is so good? Toney is proven in UK albeit at a lower level but proven and in form.
Ajeti has struggled and is right out of form.
He has been replaced in Swiss National side by Cedric Itten who that mob bought for half the Ajeti fee.
I will support him regardless and hope he does the damage but personally I prefer getting players on an upward curve as oppose to players who have struggled recently. I’m hopeful he does an El enoussi (can’t spell lol) and Forster and recaptures his confidence and previous potential up here.

Dont care what anyone thinks. Elyanoussi is a Empty jersey. Offers nothing.

Ninja1967

1.) 30 Aug 2020 17:00:41
Needs a striker to play off. I think we saw today why Klimala doesn't start. Would loan him out to East Fife for the season that's about his level. Ajeti will be a great signing but is blowing out his arse after one run. Good to get the three points and let's see what happens over the break.

2.) 30 Aug 2020 17:19:31
move him in to the number 10 and he will be far more effective.

3.) 30 Aug 2020 17:25:04
Elyounoussi is awful👍.

4.) 30 Aug 2020 17:39:36
theres a player in klamila great running of the ball pulling defenders about game changer when he came on,
big hartson and strachan said what i said on here. he needs another striker with him. klamila and griff played well together imo past games.,
i think lenny know this, let's see how it all pans out,
jamesy woke up and frimpong found his calling.

28 Aug 2020 10:41:37
Lennon saying
He has no problem playing players that want to leave. Hopes they can refocus on season and not going to name players that want away.
this is our manager at one of the most important seasons we have had for year's. Weak Weak management from top to bottom.

Ninja1967

1.) 28 Aug 2020 10:44:57
Doesn't take a genius to work it out ninja don't think he needs to name them.

2.) 28 Aug 2020 11:14:09
As long as they play to the top of their ability, he should play them, every single player in that team, and every other team is only playing for the money and nothing else, .

3.) 28 Aug 2020 11:19:09
Mally
Agree we can work it out. My problem is Lennon bringing it into the public to save himself after a nightmare result. Then saying he HOPES! the players can refocus. Blind leading the blind. He's out his depth.

4.) 28 Aug 2020 11:23:28
Agreed mally

He won't drop assets . PL wouldn't allow it

The focus has to be on proactive replacements AND in the interim, try and rally the want away stars to re focus and work hard for their move.

5.) 28 Aug 2020 11:35:20
Just saw his interview on SLY; Wee bit of back-peddling, trying to defuse the situation simmering underneath.
Obviously we don't want to keep unhappy players; but as professionals have to play, as there are not enough quality replacements - as yet.
It's not like Argos, where you take it back for a better replacement, these transfers will take time and the window is open until 11pm on Oct 5th and when clubs know we have unhappy players they will 'low-ball' all day long. It's a mess that needs a level head, logic and assertiveness, to turn this around and lift the team spirit.

6.) 28 Aug 2020 12:30:36
Level head
Logic
Assertiveness

Celtic mad the job is yours.

7.) 28 Aug 2020 14:46:53
Sorry Lubo; I'm too stout to fit in Lawell's back pocket ha ha.

27 Aug 2020 08:37:45
All the smoke and mirrors about players want to leave. Doesn't hide the fact Lennon and his tactics cost us. Since i started watching Celtic in the 80s. We have always used the width of Celtic park to or advantage. On our left Elyanoussi and Taylor don't. Both can't take a man on both turn back or cut inside. This is easy to defend.
On our right both Forrest and Elhamad have the ability to use width but chose to cut inside. The few times they went wide at least we got crosses into box. Wee Frimpong had more effect in 12 minutes than they two had.
Midfield a blind man could see Brown isn't offering anything. To slow and his contribution is to slow game down with a back pass.
Lennon sat and watched all this very poor match management as game developed. Now we face a rubbish storm from the press with his players want out quote.
Many said only Celtic can stop 10. Let's not make it a reality.

Read an Article today from a journalist that's usually on the money with Celtic information. Celtic plc won't even discuss a price for Eddie until 10 in a row is decided. Also hinted if Rogic sale happens money will help the Duffy deal.

Ninja1967

17 Aug 2020 08:07:05
Ed
See wee Dembele mentioned a lot about leaving. Think its just a rumour that's growing legs. Question if he leaves next summer would Celtic still receive a development fee and if so what kind of money would we receive.

Ninja1967

{Ed007's Note - It's a complicated system but off the top of my head we'd get between 220,000 and 260,0000 Euros:

Between the ages of 12-15 (4 years) the compensation is always paid at UEFA Category 4 level of 10,000 Euros per season and between 15 and 18 (3 years) at UEFA Category 2 level (Celtic are in Cat 2) of 60,000 Euros per season. 3 years at 60k + 4 years at 10k = 220,000 Euros.
If the player moves to a higher category club (Category 1 is 90,000 Euros per season and in Europe only England, France, Germany, Holland, Spain and Italy have Category 1 clubs) then the costs are worked out on the average which is 75,000 Euros so that would give is 3 years of 75k + 4 years of 10k = 265,000 Euros.}

1.) 17 Aug 2020 11:54:47
Well when you look across over teams in other leagues and they play 16/ 17yr olds when they have the ability then I'm sure he's questioned why he is so hyped yet has few appearances, especially starts.
However I'm sure he will sign a contract after he is used more often this season, if not then its clearly a Celtic issue in progressing its top talents into the first team, we've already seen a few slip away with no financial return.

2.) 17 Aug 2020 12:32:02
Cheers Ed superb information as per usual. Not 100% convinced the boy will make it to the top of the football tree as predicted by many. Will have a career in football but i don't think it will be at the top table.

{Ed007's Note - He needs to bulk up if he's going to have any impact on Scottish football but I think has huge potential.}

3.) 17 Aug 2020 12:34:27
After what happened to Frimpong at Rugby Park last season I think we need to wait until he bulks up a bit yet. Fantastic prospect just not sure he is physically ready to go up against some of the hackers in our league.

4.) 17 Aug 2020 14:05:19
Know it’s not a comparison but Messi ain’t exactly built like Bobo and he done ok ish.

{Ed007's Note - Yeah all those years of cheating and being pumped full of HGH never helped Messi's muscle development at all. I doubt even his 'doctor' could have got him ready to be kicked up and down the SPFL.}

5.) 17 Aug 2020 16:39:11
Especially if he wore the hoops 😳.

6.) 17 Aug 2020 18:48:36
Hickey is built like a cigarette yet nobody deems him not bulky enough to play for us, strange comments, dembele needs to play and he will prove his worth, its that simple.

Its a no for me. Boy is similar to a Duffy type player. Reasonable with back to wall defending. Celtic CH need a lot of pace and good on the ball. Celtic CH see a lot of the ball must be comfortable with building from the back. Big kick the ball anywhere is prehistoric.
