ED 007 how is Leonardo Jardim? He is quoted with grandnational betting to have odds on being celtic manager?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know that much about him buddy but he does seem to fall out with people wherever he goes.}

25 Jan 2021 18:58:53
Ralf Rangnick Is He to ambitious for us as manager? Or is there any chance that Celtic would look at him?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2021 19:17:21
I think the majority on here would love Ralf to be appointed Tony.

It's a YES from me!

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 19:26:49
ED007 has mentioned him am sure as an option think he would prob avoid celtic cause i think that the core aspect to us standing a chance in getting a quality manager in who has no affiliation with the club must have full control of footballing matters and until that happens we won't attract that quality of manager in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's a DOF we need to have full control on footballing matters. Managers and head coaches - like players - come and go but the Club needs to have processes and systems in place that aren't affected by whoever's in the dugout.
People who talk about Brendan Rodgers wanting full control of footballing matters are very wide of the mark, he's had no problems working with Jon Rudkin who's been Leicester's DOF since 2014.}

25 Jan 2021 20:29:38
We can only dream. He would be ideal for a Director of Football.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 20:56:07
What exactly does a DOF do?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 22:07:16
I’m no expert aindoh but I assume he runs the football side and would leave business to business men.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 22:54:36
But I mean what does a manager do then?, I am beginning to feel like a DOF, is just one of those in phrases, like wing backs, who are neither wingers or backs, or zonal defenders, who can't defend but stay in their zone, it just all reminds me if that book that Ronny used to read.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2021 08:56:36
We would have a head coach instead of a manager, it’s the way football is going and it’s time we caught up.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 18:20:16
I know we've all had better years than 2020 and 2021 isn't exactly looking like a barrel of laughs either so far globally or for us on the football front. But if you get a chance maybe you could have a wee look at Mary's Meals appeal on their website to support children caught up in and suffering as a result of the current conflict in Ethiopia.

This put it all in a bit of context again for me today and gave me some much needed renewed perspective. These guys can feed a child in a place of education for a year for £15.90 in some of the poorest countries of the world so a little goes a long way.

Even this year Mary's Meals have been able to distribute take home rations despite school kitchens being closed during the C.V. C.V. Where there a will there is a way.

So maybe if we're fortunate enough to have a pound or two that we can spare we could help Mary's Meals support these children in Ethiopia. I don't think we ever lose what we give away. If we can't spare the cash maybe we could keep the children and Mary's Meals in our prayers. Thanks troops. God Bless. ☘️.

Great post JFP and so, so true. Mary's Meals does a fantastic job and has core values that I'm sure many of the bhoys on this site can identify with.

Good man JFP, HH.

25 Jan 2021 17:26:00
We can blame lots of things on why we didn't get 10, but for me one of the major reasons was not signing McGinn. The obvious loss of the player (who is now worth about 10 times what we needed to pay) the relationship breakdown between manager and board, the burden on the old guard to keep going to the well, the manager leaving followed by KT and a load of unsettled players. One player doesn't make a team but the impact of not signing him had big ramifications.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2021 18:25:18
McGinn didn’t want to come once he had a concrete offer from the Hollywood league and peatrie didn’t want to sell to Celtic. why rake up auld crap? 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 18:43:29
Losing McGinn has NOTHING to do with the board. The reason McGinn went to Villa was that he wasn't given assurances regarding guaranteed playing time which was totally down to Rodgers.
McGinn has said so himself and people need to get off the boards back.
Rodgers was always going to jump back into the PL as soon as his agreement with Liverpool ended, why do you think Lawwell got him to sign the deal he did.
It's also been mentioned on here any other places that KT was always going to leave but that was accelerated because Lennon came in.
And what other manager worth his salt would knowingly admit to the press that he knew of certain players that didn't want to be at the club but continue to play them?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 19:31:10
So why did BR try to get the board to sign him the day he was on his way to sign for Villa? It was the Board that messed about, had they done the deal early and just paid Hibs he wouldn't have had the offer from Pub league. Its a fact PL played low ball and asked Hibs to keep us informed on the hope when another offer came in he would match it but if not we get him on the cheap.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 19:55:22
James forest's injury has been a huge difference this season between us winning and drawing games in my opinion.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 20:25:41
Chinks did that story come from the same BR that told everyone that he loved the club and then walked out 24hrs later and tried to take the whole backroom staff right before the Hearts game.
McGinn himself said in a tv interview that the deal was agreed with the clubs and he was wanting assurances that he would play and that we wouldn't give him it but Villa did.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2021 06:36:16
The injury to Forrest was not the reason, the reason was there is no depth of squad. With Forrest out a back up should have been in the wings
Purely a team management/ resourcing issue.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 15:16:12
Ed I noticed you said about the league being shutdown, do you think this is something that could viably happen and is the reason we aren't bringing anyone in?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It's certainly viable if CV cases continue to rise. We'll need to wait for the window to close to see if we haven't brought anyone in.}

25 Jan 2021 16:45:44
The news today is good, numbers steadily coming down and the nicola advising the lockdown is working which is great don't see football stopping to be honest I just think we don't want to waste money as the season is pritty much over and a change of manager will come in the summer, rightly or wrongly I'll add.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - After this length of time I don't think anyone can confidently predict what's going to happen in the next couple of months. Just look what happened to their plans for Christmas.}

25 Jan 2021 16:58:25
I agree thoe Iam just pointing out football has not been stopped yet and numbers coming down due to lockdown i can realy see it being stopped and especial likely we will get to the end of February still playing by them 30 games played with vaxs on the way up they could suspend the game for the hole of march and still finish the season in april with 2 games a week, in other words we get football and the country gets well happy with that .

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 17:03:32
Can for the couple of spelling errors I ment to say can't see it being stopped and vaxs on the way up 👍.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 17:08:36
The big problem (as if we haven't had enough of them) is over confidence because of the vax program - even though it will take several months to complete initial jabs for everyone (who wants it? ) .
There is still a risk of C.V. even up to three weeks after the first injection and some contradictory info on the most effective time for the second. Add to that the number of daily confirmed cases is still very high considering we have been 'locked-down; since Boxing Day and I really doubt anyone has a proper handle on this?
Both governments have also made serious errors of judgement in the past and by all accounts we are in a worse position than last year.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's what I'm saying, OAB, I don't think anyone has a proper handle on it and there's no point speculating and guessing about it. As we've seen since March last year there's no way of predicting what's going to happen in the coming months. The OP asked if it was viable that football could shutdown and of course it is while the virus is about and people are dying from it.}

25 Jan 2021 17:40:57
I do agree the numbers are still high but with lockdown in place and the numbers starting to go down it's looking very positive for football to go on and while ofcourse it will take many months for the vax to get sorted out remember the more weeks go by and the more vaccins come out even thoe it will take a while for everyone to get it the numbers will still fall.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 18:04:02
It will take a hell of a lot longer than a few months. If a vax program gave 50000 a day 7 days a week for a year that would be 4.2 million. that's only getting the first dose out and there's far more folk in Scotland than 4.2 million. there's no way they could manage 50000 a day 7 days a week. All the numbers and stats they put out regarding the vax program are totally bollocks. The maths far out weigh their projected pie in the sky figures.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 18:27:11
Pud sorry I must have miss typed my point is if it takes 5 month 3 month 10 month 1 year what iam saying is every passing week the vax is getting put out the numbers should fall with the lockdown in place which should see our football and people in a better place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 19:37:17
Hi Ed, I agree. My thoughts are with Tim just now as I'm only 5 days out of hospital myself for C.V. Pneumonia, what I seen the hospital is everything is a trial and they seem to be getting a handle and an idea on different treatments. The vax is a hope but they honestly don't know what the end game is or how to control what's actually happening.

I've been lucky and on the road to recovery and Tim if you see this keep fighting the good fight, we need your stories 👍.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 20:31:27
The league will be played to completion unless there is a serious increase in C.V. cases way beyond what has been experienced before. The vax will help though particularly when herd immunity levels are reached.
I don’t believe fans will be back in stadia as they were before, maybe every second or third home game with a tv pass.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 20:35:37
Good news I hope your keeping well. Fingers crossed that Tim's on the mend. It usually takes about 4years of tests and trials for a vax being passed for use. I hope all that receive it do well. My gran got it but sadly passed 2 days later.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 22:56:43
Ldon looking through the comments I don't think anyone said that, sorry I might be wrong. what was said that every vaxs that's done should start to bring down the numbers and make it safer week by week.

One thing that may sound daft was coming on the site and just reading thru your many opinions. Just hoping Tim is on the road too as it's not the nicest experience but definitely opened my eyes to how unforgiven C. V is.

How do i see things playing out this week.

1 NL press conference will tell us a leverything. If the stance is we are not bringing anyone in that means NL stays and he's getting nothing else to work with.

2 that then could mean in order to sell season tickets they must have a manager for us to hear details of so we buy season tickets.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2021 12:18:05
What is everyone's thoughts on Philip Cocu as new manager for next season?
He would be my no.1 target.
Also would our board be looking at someone like that?
I'd say provided we are overhauling our set up, we should be an attractive project.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2021 13:30:55
1967 stephen. our board is probably not looking for anyone. They believe they have the right managerial team in place and that is why we are in this state.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 15:46:17
Unless Cocu wanders into the shower room I doubt he will be our next manager.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 16:04:34
He had a terrible time at Derby.
But Cocu had a successful period in Holland as manager.
I think he would be at the top end of our budget.
And I would say yes Stephen.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 16:36:50
No sure about him to be honest think we can do better.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 17:44:29
Hahaha aye will have to lure him into the showers right enough ahah.
Its his job at PSV that gives me faith, they hadn't won a league since 2008 until he took over.
But the focus on bringing through youth players is something I'd love to see, even if it meant taking a season to bed in.
Yeah derby wasn't good, but i think the 5 years at PSV and his reputation before leaving them is impressive enough. A fresh approach would benefit the club in my opinion.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 3 titles in 5 years in Holland is not to be sneezed at, Stephen. His choice of jobs since then has been questionable though as Fenerbahce were in a right mess on & off the pitch and Derby were involved in a will they or won't they drawn out takeover that still hasn't happened.
I definitely think Cocu with the right DOF and coaching staff would be a good appointment.}

25 Jan 2021 18:46:05
Yeah its very impressive, especially because of ajax's dominance and PSV being in the doldrums before him.
Certainly fits the bill in my book.
I really hope that he is on the radar.
Notice he also did well with PSV in the cl.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 21:25:07
dont think we will get a manager that's anywhere near the level of cocu, rafa, imo we will get one that's no better than lennon as the game up here just can't attract or afford them, unless DD pays them and i think DD has tired of the club and would rather play a round of golf than watch an old firm game and that been the case he will pass it on to the family to play with like an old toy, he would probably sell his share but its unlikly he would get what he needs for them, so we will continue as we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 11:52:03

Got to laugh, celtic fans scream at the board about lack of ambition from the board then say they'd take Frank lampard as a manager.

25 Jan 2021 12:59:04
Here is a club that don't mess about way their decisions not in good form less points than us behind replace manager now just like Lennon club Legend they still don't care who the guy is they make the decision based on what best for the club WOW shocked but decisive call made by Chelsea.

Agree4 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 12:59:55
Maybe too big a job too soon as the owner has a reputation for zero tolerance of failure and is impatient with managers at times.
Although Chelsea currently sit 9th, they are only five points behind Liverpool in fourth with half a season to go (not 23 points) .
Our Board are much more lenient and forgiving - or just incompetent?

25 Jan 2021 15:24:59
100% Rich T.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 16:39:56
Wouldn't want frank Lampard near our club. Doesn't have the experience needed to rebuild our squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 11:14:46
Now it looks clear Lennon is here till the end of the season we now need to get some good results and fast. Our main concern now should be finishing second and securing a champions league qualification spot. Aberdeen are only 4pts behind while we have a game in hand. The thought of not finishing second is unthinkable but in the current form not unrealistic.

The season has been a total sxxt show as we can agree but that's gone now and we need to ensure we secure second. Otherwise it will be so much harder to convince both a quality manager and players to come. It shows how bad things have gotten that it has come to this.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2021 12:27:40
It could come down to the game where we play them at Parkhead - that’s about 6 or 7 games away - now if we don’t win all of them and they do - that’s the title.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 16:54:20
Peter
Celtic have 9 league games and they only have 5 league games before we meet at Celtic Park on March 20th.
Celtic will play our 3 games in hand and Sevco won’t have a league game at the end of February due to Livingston playing in the league cup final.
They also won’t get a chance to play their game outstanding due to Scotland World Cup Qualifiers.
If anything Celtic will reduce the gap severely before we meet.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 10:47:13
Would anyone take Lampard, once he's booted from chelsea. Surely he'll be the next one linked.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2021 11:47:11
Eff that he's spent more than anybody down there and they're pants.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 11:47:26
100% I'd take him and jody Morris. Might be a bit like BR appointment. I know he doesn't have same experience but he didn't do too badly at Derby and if its going to be the usual names rolled out, he'd be a big pull for signings. He'll want back in quickly and couldbe a good fit.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 12:09:43
Anyone saying no is under the delusion that we can actually get rafa. There is no chance of getting rafa or anyone of that quality and experience. Lampard with the name will attract players and he done good at derby. And he hasn't done that bad at chelsea. 4th last year and only 4 points off liverpool in 4th. This season has been a strange season down south hard to judge on this season alone.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 12:41:57
Lampard would not come near Glasgow he's a home boy he will be no happy his dream job did not work for him and want to stay near home. He will have plenty of offers down south. Am sure that the Celtic board well DD has his man thought out and worked on its just a matter of when i would like to think now more than who.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 12:44:18
Why would anyone want Frank lampard? Failed at Derby, failed at Chelsea. Plays players out of position and it poor tactically.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 12:57:52
I think Lampard is too much of a London lad to even think about coming this far north. HH.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 14:42:38
He should fit right in so kev. All we need to say to him is follow the Lennon blueprint and he will be sorted.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 17:01:44
He didn't fail at derby.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 18:31:55
He got the Chelsea job off the back of derby so I wouldn’t say he failed. I don’t want him but he hadn’t done too badly really.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 10:44:43
My new thought on this with new change hopefully coming. Changes like new manager Lennon will always be one of the greats of this club. But like all great players their stay comes to an end pretty easy really that can happen in one day now. My question is if its whole sale changes how hard is it to change a chief executive? I think that's what's holding change back in my opinion?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Well for a start, Richy I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that we would need to give the Stock Exchange 6 months notice of any changes at that level. Someone out there will know better than me if that's true or not.}

25 Jan 2021 11:20:27
So with that in mind might DD have already started that procedure? Footballing matters on the park can turn on one good result or even a fresh player come in make things happen. Moving forward from now to the end of season i would definitely want a CB in to command that area which i would hope would bring a bite into that area cause it definitely lacks right now that would be short term fix for me with the hope of long term changes being made behind the seen now too.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Some people are suggesting that Lawwell will stay on to ensure a smooth handover to the a new CEO which is supposedly a common way for DD to do these things.}

25 Jan 2021 12:21:37
Would laweels pride take that ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't see why not. Contrary to popular belief Lawwell is a big Celtic fan who - in his own warped & misguided way - only wants the best for the Club. And if it's normal for DD to do that it might be part of his contract.}

25 Jan 2021 12:33:19
I don't think there are any rules regarding the amount of notice you need to give the Stock Exchange in regards to changing a CEO.
It's more to do with how the share prices react to an announcement, Most companies will give as much time as possible so the share prices stay as steady as possible and will ask the current CEO to stay on for a negotiated time usually around 100 days to let the new CEO find his/ her feet but there has been other instances where the CEO is removed with immediate effect (usually because of a scandal) which could see your stock price crash for a while.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 12:47:15
So for example then Ross Desmond coming in would work alongside PL for a smooth transition how well do u think that would work? Could this also Work MON as DOF with Roy Keane as manager now Roy has said that he has big respect for MON could that have the makings of a good relationship or is that going backwards? What do you think to that ED007 and the rest of use guys?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Not for me, Rich.}

25 Jan 2021 13:28:32
Has Lawwell not already given notice that he is moving on, or have i missunderstood the post i read.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've not seen anything saying that mate.}

25 Jan 2021 18:35:57
Ed how would that work if god forbid a ceo got ill or had to leave if a family member was ill? I know it’s not the case but how can someone be expected to know 6 months in advance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think it's more planned changes, Steph but as I said it's just something I'm sure I read. I really should look into it lol.}

25 Jan 2021 10:27:41
Reading the DR cause papers always tell the true. But they have run a story on BR and the fact he couldn't get his way in the transfer market even after what he did in his first 2 seasons.

Apparently he wanted to new fullbacks Castagne as a replacement for Lustig and James Justin at left back to replace KT when he was sold.

Guess what 2 players were playing fullbacks when Leicester best Chelsea the other night.

As reported.

We could look at this season on isolation, C.V. and others. But the seeds where being sown years before this with the boards reluctance to bring in quality replacements.

As a result we have ended up with Lennon and a 3rd rate backroom team that's not fit for purpose.

Years and years of mismanagement.

Celtic let's not make the same mistakes or we could be in for years of dominance by the other lot 🤷🤷.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Brendan Rodgers wasn't Celtic manager when KT left.}

25 Jan 2021 10:33:39
Hi Ed i know that but apparently he was looking for his replacement as the inevitable sale would happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It was Rodgers scurrying out the back door that started the chain of events leading to KT leaving. If Rodgers had stayed (or the board had appointed a higher calibre of manager as his replacement) he would have stayed for the 9IAR and possibly a crack at 10. It was when Lennon was appointed permanently KT decided that he needed to move on to keep his own career & development moving forward.}

25 Jan 2021 10:58:50
And what a decision that was by KT given how the players now are totally void of any confidence hence the sports psychologist being brought in.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If Lennon hadn't left the first time it's likely KT would have moved on as Lennon preferred Izaguirre while KT was more than capable and was at the stage where he needed to be playing first team football.
Did KT maybe realise that the level of training & coaching - even the general standards - was going to nosedive from what he was used to under RD and Rodgers?}

25 Jan 2021 11:45:27
The point I'm trying to make is, this season has been in the making since BR didn't get his ambitions met. We can argue his scurrying out the back door triggered the chain of events. But the board looking at spreedsheets and patting each other on the back for profits being made lost site of actually staying in front of the competition and didn't see that lot coming.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - All I said was that Rodgers left before KT so I don't see how he had a replacement for him in mind when KT had no intentions of leaving for a while yet until Rodgers himself left.}

25 Jan 2021 11:51:18
And like the replacements for Virgil dembelle lustig forster our lbs are second rate.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 13:47:47
I remember us being linked with Justin and Castagne. It's a difficult one as the wage bill was already around 60m and certainly castagne would have cost a fortune in wages along with the 10m fee. When we only take in a couple of million for tv and league finish it makes it difficult. The argument is it would give us a better shot at CL qualification and so it would pay for itself. Going forward we certainly need to give ourselves a better chance of qualifying. Players out of position and no strikers is never going to cut it.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 14:17:54
Castagne said he wasnt coming to Scotland when he was approached and it killed any move stone dead but rodgers wouldn't let it go.
This rewriting of history needs to stop.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2021 08:40:17
@united Ireland regarding Griffiths, please correct me if I'm wrong but who was 1 one player singled out for coming back from lockdown seriously overweight and has brought controversy through breaching C.V. rules? We don't have a short memory and do not forget.

Leigh Griffiths should concentrate on being a professional, setting an example both on and off the pitch before preaching the moral high ground.

Club has already supported Griffiths through his mental health issues and will be continually monitoring him, sickening when you have to bring that up to support your weak argument. Griffiths and any other persons suffering mental health issues, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect .

I don’t know if you see it yesterday Phil.
Since December 2016 Leigh Griffiths has only played the full 90 minutes in 11 League games.
Griffiths, Ajeti and Klimala haven’t played a single game of 90 minutes this season between them in all competitions.
Celtic need to sell all 4 strikers if possible and bring in replacements.

so leigh Griffiths comes back from lockdown over weight a man who is suffering from mental health conditions. with mental health conditions the last thing you won't to do is even do anything. most of the country probably put weight on in lockdown and if you have mental health issue it makes getting motivated a lot harder especially when your in a lockdown. lockdown is causing mental health issues with a lot of people mate so if its causing mental health issues for people who were fine what is it doing to some one who already had mental health issues making those mental health issues a lot harder to overcome.

griff was flying when he came back seem to be getting better then bang lockdown completely halted his recovery and set him right back to square one with a lockdown on top

i have a mate who has mental health issues and this lockdown is destroying him and guess what he has piled on weight to and its struggle to get him to leave the house for a walk and try get him motivated. so i have sympathy for Griff and can maybe see why he has came back in that shape

what is sicking Phil is you slating a man with mental health issues for being over weight and unfit during a lockdown that is causing even people who are fine to have mental health issues. so your taking on it is leigh get up get fit and lose weight and stop being unprofessional totally wrong way to go about it. its get your head right first then get fit and we as celtic supporters support you.

leigh Griffiths has scored 121 goals for this club mate in 246 games that is a great return for someone wee bought for over a 100 grand. in the last few season he has not being first choice due to dembele and Edouard 2 amazing strikers so if griff was number 1 what do you think his goal return would be.

Problem with your rational view on Griffiths being overweight and unfit coming back from lockdown was he played 32 games in total before previous season was called. A respectable amount of games for someone who had his issues the previous season and declared himself fit and ready. If the rest of the squad came back a lot fitter then Griffiths has no excuse.

Club would of looked after welfare of not only Griffiths but all of the players during lockdown and provided support when needed. So again no excuses there either.

Also lockdown couldn't of affected Griffiths that much if he was still able to go partying after league was awarded.

Buzz never saw that mate. Your right they need to be shipped out.

I commented yesterday on the griffiths situation and I want to clarify my point. Griffiths mental health issues are well documented and in the main I’d say he’s been heavily supported by the club and the support and rightly so. Now anyone who knows me would tell u I’m a massive fan of griffiths, infact on his game I’d say he’s every bit the player edouard is. My problem yesterday was griffiths interview, questioning the fans on their opinions of lennon, questioning fans” short memories “. For me griffiths should keep his head down and just fully focus on his personal situation and do his upmost in helping the team, Lennons a big boy, I’m pretty sure lennon would prefer to see griffiths work his ass off getting back to full fitness and doing what he does best than get involved in the media circus surrounding the club right now, and I certainly don’t think it’s advisable right now to question the clubs support.

{Ed007's Note - There's no way LG's interview wasn't sanctioned by the Club, Garry. He probably got a pat on the back from Lennon for it.}

phill when griff came back he was flying then lockdown happened a lock down that is causing mental health issues so that has caused a set back of course. and you say he was the only one who came back in that state he was the only one in the squad suffering from mental health. so i think the lockdown played a massive part in setting him back.

do you not understand mental health makes people feel they do not want to live anymore. aye griff had no excuse being unfit doesn't matter if he had mental health issue he should just get up and get on with it. he was over it a few month ago. people with mental health issue very rarely seem to fully get over them

how did you feel when kris boyd questioned griffs mentality were you outraged if you were mate you are a utter hypocrite you are basically questioning his mentality just now

and as for the partying the booze is something people with mental health seem to motivate there self for. its easy to pick up a can get drunk and take the depression away for a bit and feel good.

you say some one with mental health should be treated with respect and dignity yet your on here calling him out for being unfit and overweight. do you know the hard work that is required to be a professional footballer and be at the top of your game people with mental health struggle to even get up and get ready never mind put there self through hard core training. i tell you one thing phill never become a support worker to help with mental health because if its you helping them that person is doomed.

phill so we don't go back and forward. if griff never had mental health issues i would be asking why has he came back in that state when all other players are fit.

but he has mental health issues and that's why i am defending him its something i have witnessed with family members and mates and seen first hand how it can destroy some ones life and aiming criticism at them for not being motivated is a bit risky as that person is a ticking time bomb just need to keeping being positive with them and let them go at there own pace and encourage them. that's just my view on it.

United Ireland i probably understand a hell of a lot more about mental health than you ever will, being in a bad way aged 22 suicidal and required the need to be sectioned!

So don't ever question whether or not I know how someone with mental health feels or not. I'm giving you my opinion on a subject that you felt the need to raise regarding Griffiths.

He was unfit, overweight and totally unprofessional coming back from c. v. that's not being disrespectful, that's stating facts! If he doesn't want to pull his weight and work hard like every other one of his team mates then he shouldn't be playing football. Mental health has nothing to do with it.

on that note i completely sympathise with you on your struggles with it and hope all is well with you now and would give you my ear and time if it was ever needed.

but i know a lot about it to mate i have attended funerals because of mental health issues people have had and sadly they did not want to be here anymore that's why i feel very strongly about criticising people with it and its why i think griff has came back unfit and would never call him out on his motivation wile he suffers from it.

i would rather not argue with you over it anymore mate as i feel rotten now knowing you have struggled with it and its not a good subject to be arguing over if you have had your problems with it to. hope i did not cause any offence and i truly mean if you ever need a ear i can fire my email over and we can chat and things ever get tough you can come out a walk with me and my mate and have chat and clear the mind.

{Ed007's Note - Yeah I think that's for the best lads 👍 I try to keep threads away from talking about specific people's mental health, especially LG's & Lennon's as some of you have probably noticed recently with their posts being edited.

I know i love a transfer but if we can get one into boost the sprits up for me a CB who is going to put himself on the block winning the high balls in the box would be great it would lift the sprits even to get us to the end of the season that would be my wish for this last week of the window what would be your bhoys and ghirls?

Rich T we certainly need a commanding centre half we couldn’t knit one from the centre halves we currently have. But if football could potentially be stopped would we be as well holding off until new management team is in place?

I certainly wouldn’t trust Nick Hammond or whoever else is currently involved with recruitment at the club with any more funds based on recent acquisitions over the last few seasons. Bringing back Jack Henry might be an option given he is getting rave reviews for his performances in Belgium.

Yeah am awake early but hay ho never mind that i've been thinking about Benitez thing which i know wint happen i thought at first would be great but then reality hit me i then thought about it. Correct me if i am wring but i think that the reason he's so good was because he worked with the best always the best players i don't think he had a rep of making players better which really is not what we need we need a manager to make us better just my thoughts what do use guys and ghirls think? Or am i just talking rubbish cause its half four in the morning?

Stop dreaming guys, it ain't happening.
Not now, not in the summer, not ever.
Our club offers him little and he'll go to a much bigger and better structured club when he decides to return to management. HH.
