A Great result today but Corners at both ends seem to be an issue.
In our last 5 league games Celtic have received 61 corners, with the minimum of 11 corners in each match.
Yet we struggle to create or show any imagination with set pieces.
At the other end,
Celtic have only conceded 4 corners in our last 2 league games, which has resulted in us losing a couple of goals.

A take it that’s JK department Buzz, BR appointed Toure last time he was here a take it to work on the defensive side of things, were the stats any better then Buzz and if so should another defensive coach be brought in.

WTF when we have a corner, why do we have five players in the box trying to occupy the same square foot? And then when the ball get knocked on or missed and lands at the back of the six yard box, there’s no one to there to take advantage! Also defending corner, put a man on the back post, we lost a goal to Motherwell and almost lost one today in injury time that could have cost us. This is schoolboy stuff. Are we being over coached in that players are robotically following orders instead of natural awareness?

chasaboy that scenario drives me nuts. Some of the tactics used at corners is beyond understanding. It is not rocket science - at least have man on front middle and back which allows the taker some leeway on accuracy. And, when the defence clears to about 20 yards out - please practise keeping the ball low when shooting. Constantly smashing wild high shots from that distance is embarasing for a good pro.

I think J Kennedy is responsible for taking the complete training. . B R said a wee while ago he details exactly what he wants J Kennedy to do and Brendan watches what is happening, BR added Kennedy did a fantastic job .
Years ago fans speculated about J K responsible for defending corners and I think it wasn’t right then either.

Keep watching other teams ( watch lots of football at all levels) and we seem to have no structure at defending. We are flimsy, floppy and chaotic, the goals we lose are childlike. I get that all teams lose goals but the ones we seem to concede are of a similar consistent nature therefore should be something to work on preventing but clearly not. All the best teams work on the principle that if you don’t concede you don’t lose games but with Celtic unless we at least 2 in front you end up watching the clock through cracks in your fingers because any set piece is a cause for concern. Glad we got 3 pts but that result flattered us today and we can’t keep relying on late flourishes or we are heading for some serious nail biting.
