{Ed007's Note - Yes I think Celtic will bring in a CB and at least a winger this window with the thinking that everyone stays apart from Elhamed and Ntcham who I expect to leave. There was no move for Mar McKenzie either after Celtic opted for Shane Duffy over McKenzie, Gibson and Colley in the summer. January is the best time to move for Americans and after Genk put a decent offer on the table and there was some advice that it would be a good stepping stone to the higher-profile leagues - Germany is always a favourite for American players - and Chris Durkin played his part in convincing McKenzie to move to Belgium.
I've no names, Richy but it seems that we're looking for a permanent CB signing who will go straight into the first team so that we have at least 1 CB with first team experience at the Club for the start of next season with it looking likely that Ajer, Jullien & Duffy will be leaving and with Jullien injured any new signing will get plenty of game time.}

What makes you say Julien will be leaving at the end of the season ed? I fully expected Ajer and Duffy to be away but thought Julien would possibly stay, who else do you think will be leaving at the end of this year? Christie, Eddy, Ajer, Julien, Laxalt, el noussi, duffy leaves us with a huge rebuild and that's just the ones that spring to mind.
{Ed007's Note - Jullien wanted away last summer and was very forceful about it but the Club stood firm. Ajer's been accused of downing tools and not trying because he wanted away but Ajer never tried to force a move like Jullien. The Norwegian made it clear that he was interested in leaving but only if the Club and A.N. Other could agree a deal but he wouldn't force anything and he would respect the Club's decision.
Jullien's agent verbally asked for a transfer and when that was rejected he threatened to put in a written request which would have cost both him and the player money so he quickly backtracked when Lawwell called his bluff on it.
I think you've got most of the possible and probable exits there, Ryan and you could add Brown (retiring) Frimpong, Bolingoli, McGregor, Rogic, Hendry, Shved, maybe even LG (would a new manager wipe the slate clean or see him as not worth the hassle) and Barkas if he's still struggling to settle and we can recoup our cash.}

Huge Summer ahead then for sure, do you think Lennon will be the man for the board to rebuild or do you think regardless of the outcome this year next season will be a fresh start with a new manager? I for one would like to see us go for someone a bit different to the likes of a MON, Strachan, Moyes etc. A young manager with fresh ideas and big aspirations as the pressure of 10 will be gone next season and we should have a decent budget with the expected departures.

I can certainly see Christie leaving, standards have slipped big time, although a lot of his performances seem to have been as a makeshift right winger.
I like Frimpong but he’s not a particularly good defender and his final ball isn’t good enough to be a winger. So I don’t really know what his best position is.
Are there any players you realistically think Celtic can bring in? Or maybe a better question, any you think can make the step up? I. e. Connell, Oko-Flex, Coffey. Looks like Karamoko isn’t part of the long term strategy which seems a shame.

Watched the first half, but have seen him a few times and he is possibly their best player - and definitely their most consistent.
It makes a total mockery of the paltry fee we got for him compared to other full-backs (wing-backs) in that league at twice the price +.
He will be able to pick and choose ANY team (and wage) he wants.
Incidentally, I did notice that during that whole 45 mins the left CB of Arsenal never passed to him once.

Heard Damian Duff has left his coaching post with Ireland, I think his main reason for leaving Celtic was for family reasons so can't see him coming back. I think we lost out on Darren Fletcher as a coach who has just joined Ole's staff at Man utd. Would anyone want Maloney back as one of the coaches / Assistant next season?

the most sort of people who are kicking celtic when we need support most are our own fan for ten years rangers have went through hell their fans and the board got behind the team even though they have a huge amount of debt the fan never attacked the team bus putting their own players in danger i have followed celtic for seventy years and i have lost the feeling of a family support people who think get the youth in are deluded it takes five years to build a team from scratch do you think the fans in the mood the are in would put up with that second place in any other place would be ok. So lads a few posts either agreeing it disagreeing about our jaunt to Dubai.
Now certain part of Dubai have high levels C.V. and they have staff and like any other hotel chain etc it will be poor pay and locals who work there.
I for one was shocked Celtic still went over there with the state of the world right now and getting worse every day I also don't accept that footballers come under the term as athletes.
I think that's disrespectful to actual athletes, .
I also don't want the league called but if any Celtic player gets ill they will throw the book at us.
It seems this year there is so much self inflicted problems being created at Celtic I'm not sure any off us will ever know what's going on there.
The other part is yes Celtic are a wealthy club and throwing money about in Dubai could that money not be put to better use spending it here. Keeping players healthy in our bubble, I don't know the answer but pretty pissed.
It's taken soro and Turnbull to come in and change everything they have been there a while why was there potential not spotted sooner we attack through the middle and also not predictable.
It was also getting us off our seats as we look as if we are always going to score.
Soz for the rant but think Celtic should have stayed and payed private to get every person connected at Celtic the C.V. injection rather than risk as it's not worth the the risk to every person family member etc. Now I don't know the fact what if Celtic get told to isolate for 10 day sturgeon has just said anyone entering UK must isolate.

No rules broken in making the trip to Dubai but just because something is legal doesn’t make it right. We all knew that the price we were going to pay for getting let out to play at Christmas was a January lockdown and tighter restrictions. Not illegal but bad PR and none too clever on Celtics behalf and their could yet be further implications on their return as you say. Mentioned it before it is fairly reflective of a previous professionalism that now appears to be lacking for some reason from management to this to press releases that read like they’ve been written by a ten year old.

We all know we need a ( CB) (GK) and possible Winger. Looks like signings will be from either the SPL or England due to CV19 restrictions. If we can get the boy Gallagher from Motherwell then would be safe signing as he knows the league and from what I've seen is a good player. Could get him in on a Bosman but getting him asap with little compensation to Motherwell would be ideal. Stuart Findlay is another CB from Kilmarnock that's available on a free so he could do a job also. Ryan Porteous is the only CB I would spend money on from Hibs. Wingers for me is MJ and MOI should be dealing with they positions when needed with Forrest back in a few weeks. Goalkeeper wise I think Celtic will stick with Barkas as they paid 5M for him but can see us cutting our losses at end of the season.

Just read ourselves and Sevco have apparently attempted pre-contract agreements with Doughty of Charlton. Why we didn't just sign him when we had the chance, along with Ivan Toney and other missed opportunities reflects the incompetent and amateurish recruitment under Lawell.

Haven't watched Declan Gallagher and no absolute nothing about him other than he's an international no-nonsense centre half according to reports that scored against us.
Out first priority is to stop shipping goals particularly from corners every one of which is a goal scoring opportunity for the opposition. That makes a centre half who wins the ball in the air and can head it the way he's facing or find row z if need be essential. It also makes Declan Gallagher a better bet than Benkovic who hasn't played recently and isn't that type of player. We're trying to win the SPL not the CL.

I tend to agree with you all on this one, I really like the idea of a 100% (or as near as) Benkovic because he can play, but he hasn't played since he was last with us!
Right now we need someone to go straight into the back 4 and plug the gaps, Declan is 30 next month, knows the league, the club, is an international and is from Rutherglen - can it get any better than that? (LOL)

Christmas in April is trained by Colin Tizzard, whose daughter Kim Gingell passed away from cancer last May. The Welsh National is officially been run in her memory, would be a blessing for the Tizzard family if Christmas in April could win.

I would be a great model to follow. and i would love to see us developing home grown talent and playing great football, qualifying in Europe. Unfortunately can't see it happening with the current regime in charge. Can dream though. 😂.
