"I don't go along with the idea Brendan will leave Celtic in the summer. "He loves his job and if he wins 10 in a row he could walk on water and I think Brendan would quite like to walk on water! He's living the dream as it is" (John Hartson) Sorry Scotland Brendan is going nowhere imminently.

It was the same with Martin O’Neill after he won the treble. It’s pathetic and those who perpetrate these lies should be embarrassed by it, That wee tit Nicolas is probably the worst as he was stating it as a fact that he would go in January and now here we are in February and he’s been proven to be bare faced liar but he’s not man enough to admit it was all fabricated. He just continues to spout nonsense and take the money. Horrible wee individual.

I am a huge admirer of Rogers and hope he's here for years but I do fear he will walk away in the summer. He is clearly not happy with celtics transfer policy and may feel treble treble is as far as he can take celtic and as good as it can get. Getting out on a high may be on his mind. he's not stupid and knows he can't keep winning every trophy every year and winning a double would be seen not as a failure but as step down in a way. And let's face it with our transfer policy and Roger's seemingly unwilling to change his approach in europe we aren't going to progress on that front anymore than we are now. I think we could be in for some serious changes in coaching and playing staff in the summer.

Rodgers was well aware of our transfer policy/ budget prior to taking the job👍.

Do you work for the Dailly Record Kiwi?

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2019 09:29:35
Or Irish kiwi, maybe winning 10 in a row is what he wants to achieve, is that a step down?

20 Feb 2019 11:00:52
If Brendan is still manager next season, he will definitely stay the following year also.
He will not want to miss out on making even more history with 10 in a row.

20 Feb 2019 11:05:36
No this sh@t again.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Feb 2019 11:36:20
I wouldn't be surprised either way tbh. I think he's set to stay but also if he gets a big offer in England I think he would leave.

Getting hammered regularly in Europe with us won't help his reputation either.

Don't need to be a prophet or psychic to know BR will leave the club at some point and the continued speculation and predictions will be true eventually and then the 'told you so' brigade will pontificate.
Until then let's enjoy one of the best periods in our history, with domestic dominance not seen at Celtic for a long, long time, with records being set left right and centre; a full trophy cabinet and some of the best attacking football/ players in a wee while.

20 Feb 2019 13:29:51
Getting a bit boring all this talk speculating on BR leaving and I'm not going to lose any sleep over it because as OAB said above one day he will leave. I hope its not for a long time yet and just want to enjoy things while he is here.
Already for me he is virtually irreplaceable because who is big enough to come here on the back of Rodgers success. As things stand if a new manager won the double it would be considered a disappointing year. Stevie G caan go to rangers and spend a fortune and win nothing and there will still be positives, like theygot past the first qualifying round of the europa league or they managed to beat an understrength Celtic team with only a few thousand Celtic supporters present. s such he will be given another yeaar or two to turn things around. How could a new manager here improve on what has been done in recent years with Rodgers at the helm, back to back invincible years with maximum points and a 100+ goal difference?
I remember thinking the same when Big Jock left and they gave us King Billy who possibly was the only one capable of taking on the managers role after Jock.

Malky what's funny? If Brendan got offered say the Arsenal job or whatever are you trying to say he would sit here on a poor budget?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2019 18:11:39
Can't imagine Brendan going to Arsenal, they don't seem to want to spend any money and have a lot of ground to make up on the likes of city, United, Liverpool and spurs! He would need a couple of hundred million to spend with the ridiculous prices for dross down there! He's here for 10!

Thursday night do we rest players or go for it with possiblity of injuries?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Really? Why would we rest players 1st goal and were back in the tie.

We go for it and give it 100%, don't hold back.

Go for it you never know although not many score 3 or more at there patch.

20 Feb 2019 11:41:23
We have to give everything we have. What's the point otherwise? Will it be enough? Possibly not but if we field a weakened team then we'll never know. HH.

So the missus still isn't speaking to me after I sacked her off on Valentines Day to go to the Valencia game. How am I supposed to break it to her that me and the kids won't be taking her out for Mother's Day as that's when we're playing the Zombies 🧟‍♂️ 🙈.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

19 Feb 2019 16:49:52
Take her to the game ;-) On 1/ 1/ 1958 my dad brought my mum to the Old Firm game and it was only the second day of their honeymoon.

19 Feb 2019 16:57:58
Lol don’t be worrying mate I didn’t even get my misses a card for Valentine’s Day if we’re playing sevco on mother’s day, her and the kids will be getting ditched. Not the best boyfriend in the world but I make it up to her between the sheets lol.

She isn't yer maw so nothing to worry about.

That being said if she is intent on doing something, just tell her going out on mothers day is a rip off as they jack the prices up and suggest you go out the weekend before.

Failing that pump her best pal and make sure she catches you. That way she won't want to do anything on mothers day. Then later you can tell her you were drunk and it didn't mean anything.

Time talk sport had a word with that Durham always having a dig at our club and now broony getting it for celebrating a last min winner man's a clown.

His producers will be giving him a pat on the back because every time he bumps his gums about us he gets the exact reaction and publicity he's after.

19 Feb 2019 22:21:25
Exactly kevbhoy, I do like listening to talk sport, but Durham pisses me off that much I start shouting at the person radio and my hemeroids start making a reappearance, he definitely gets the reaction he's after, and after my outburst I realise the person has just got another over on me by making me react, at the same time hearing ally mccoist eat humble pie and admit celtic are playing good football balances out my mood immensely.

20 Feb 2019 11:40:49
That Durham is a total hole. Always has been when he's spouting about Celtic. HH.

First of all the idiot that threw the coin, identify and BAN him from all games. The other abuse Boyd took, we cannot condemn sevconians or other fans for their chants if we do the same. Yes Boyd IS sad, fat and probably a fruit grown in Seville or Valencia but Celtic fans are better than that, leave these chants to the new club.
But to the damage, yes it looks bad but I do not think it was deliberate. I have been in both away stands at Kilmarnock and the seats are FLIMSY and probably put in using the cheapest materials. All the fans need to do is surge forward or jump and hug person next to them and damage is done. In saying that I expect Celtic to pay up as it was our fans that caused this.

We have Motherwell at home, then 3 hard games vs Hearts and Hibs away, Aberdeen at home. Win those 4 games and the league's over before we play that lot. Dundee, Livi and St Mirren the other games.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Feb 2019 09:59:44
We have not been as convincing away from home a few times this season, but the players look determined and are in good form - especially defensively - and we have plenty of attacking options.
The last minute win at Kilmarnock showed how much it means to the team and it opened up a decent gap and a sickener to any rival.
However, one major factor is the imminent return of KT at a very crucial time of the season and others returning from injury.

19 Feb 2019 10:36:17
League's by😉.

And that's why were champions with a leader like Scott Brown the Treble Treble is coming. The Cup Final is on the 25th May this year now if that's not fate what is . Well done the Bhoys today probably the worst fixture after a European game but Our Captain Our Leader the man who does not do losing let's all do the Broonie.

4 times walker says broony shot was going over the bar . but say not once it would've been a penalty as Bruce blocked it with his raised arm.

19 Feb 2019 11:08:40
Makes you wonder would madden have gave a penalty if it deflected wide? doubt it!

It was a stone wall penalty had it not gone in however i have my doubts wether Madhun would have given it!

19 Feb 2019 12:51:32
No mention of the handball in BBC report they just say Bruce was unfortunate it deflected in off him. If he never had his arm up it'd never be a goal no unfortune about it at all!

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 13:02:44
No chance he would of gave a pen if browns shot hadnt went in. But in all fairness he done a pretty good job at game. Surprised he didn’t give a penalty after it went in to give it another go to stop us scoring late on lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 16:44:54
Thank God the ref wasn't given a decision to make regarding a penalty
although considering he sent off bigfoot it's a bit harsh to think he wouldn't have given one.

Unbelievable the abuse you get for pointing out the stupidity of some supporter's actions. I am on a few Celtic pages on FB.
I have followed Celtic since the late 1950's (first game was against Third Lanark so you do the maths lol)
The destruction of seats, the coin throwing, the pyrotechnics and the crowd rush are all deemed as acceptable.
When I tried to point out that the authorities and media have always had a bias against us and that all we are doing is giving them an excuse with evidence to criticise and punish us the intelligent and obviously well thought-out response was.
"F**ck them, Up the ra, cheap fu**ing paper seats anyway, Boyd's a c*nt who deserves worse, SFA can get tae f*ck. " Of course, the usual, "They get away with it so why should we not do it? " was also used.
It hurts and saddens me to see these people still don't understand that the perfect way to really upset the authorities etc. is by winning trophies and not giving them any excuses to attack our supporters. (long rant but at least I get intelligent banter on here H. H.

19 Feb 2019 09:32:04
Neds will be neds Tim.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 09:48:54
Football fans are a different breed nowadays Tim. Not just alcohol, they are high on drugs as well. I drive fans to away matches and find all sort of drugs and substances stuffed down the seats. You always get some bams on an away trips, they normally sit at the back throwing stuff and destroying seats.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 11:59:40
Well said Tim, it's disgraceful conduct so called Celtic fans, i'm sure they apply such standards in all parts of their lives.

That's one thing I can say for the Ozzies here, very little trouble at the sporting grounds and you can drink a coldie watching the game, very pleasant indeed.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 13:41:02
Downunderbhoy, Very little trouble at football in Scotland either, which maybe explains why there is so much condemnation of someone tossing a coin, even at a low life like Boyd . We don't know whether seats were broken maliciously but I am sure Celtic football club will pay for repair or replacement .
We need extra care that we are not associated with this type of behaviour .
Talking about fan behaviour, I would like to mention again, the relatively small number of loud - mouths who roar abuse at individual Celtic players . That loud roar is bound to have detrimental effect on player at the receipt of abuse . It can also effect the nervous anticipation in crowd and turn a happy atmosphere into an angry one and effect other fans and can lead to more than words thrown.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 16:51:47
Acting like clowns, aye. However what is up with pyrotechnics at football?

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 19:37:32
Very good point, OMC, about shouting abuse at our own players. On a good night, the fans can be worth an extra goal. On a bad night, they can probably prevent us from scoring.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 08:15:24
Wgs take in broonys sending off was what a was trying to say the other day he stops 3 yards short of the crowd it's the punters that run to him.

It's has nothing to do with going to the crowd or not. He left the field of play and that's meant to be a booking.

Kev83, I am looking forward to u refereeing a Rangers2012.game. Diff interpretation than is normal for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 16:29:40
How many goals do you see scored when the player runs behind the goals but stops short of going to the crowd and nothing happens what a the official rule because if it's for running over the by line then av missed something because it goes in in every game.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 18:18:28
I remember Petrov and Bellamy scoring into the copland and both were booked.
All Bellamy done was sink to his knees, nowhere near their fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 19:42:07
Kev is correct. The rule isn’t always applied but leaviing the field of play is a bookable offence. If it had been applied in Seville, the game would have been abandoned as the whole Porto team would have been sent off.
