Heard that Dembele will be moved on in this transfer window, not to cash in but because of his attitude which is causing problems with players and management.

Source is a senior executive in a major Scottish company who says this came direct from PL - No reason to doubt the guy.

To be honest Dembele appears like a player whose mind is elsewhere, looks disinterested.

Martinj1888

1.) 05 Jan 2018 21:06:49
So pl confides in some guy and he goes and blabs confidential info about a multi million pound deal. i smell barry white.

2.) 05 Jan 2018 21:41:17
Absolute bullsh#t.

3.) 06 Jan 2018 10:30:57
If this is true, I will eat UJ’s bowler hat.

It seems people just love making up salacious tales of upheaval and fall outs.

Although, I did hear young Ajer is the kingpin in a international money laundering racket and is unsettling the academy players with promises of easy money.

You can take that to any dodgy bank of your choosing.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 11:05:46
When did you dream this up?

5.) 06 Jan 2018 11:22:34
This is purely out of your head or someone else’s! Until we actually hear anything of a concrete offer being accepted and beyond that MD agreeing terms, he is a Celtic player.

6.) 06 Jan 2018 09:46:32
Morning ED do you think that BR will ever buy the number 10 he's been wanting or has he seen enough in the likes of Christie that will be used in that role next year?

{Ed007's Note - I think it'll be the summer before we see a No.10 signed especially if Rogic leaves.}

7.) 06 Jan 2018 14:21:21
If rogic leaves? Please not. He is one of our best players.

Seen a pic of paddy on the plane to dubai. Is he back training? When is rogic back training?

Once we have those two back we will be fine.

8.) 06 Jan 2018 14:52:25
BR has been on the look for a 10 player surely by now he knows who he wants? ED way word that Cullker is supposed to be is going on a trial with West Ham do u still think he that's it for us getting him?

{Ed007's Note - Caulker would prefer to stay in the London area if possible.}

9.) 06 Jan 2018 16:29:07
Martinj don't know anything about Dembele situation in the dressing room but I don't think we will see him get back to last seasons heights. Agree with you looks totally disinterested, not making the runs, struggling to hold the ball up. Just wonder if he wants away and because club may be holding out for £20mill plus which we won't get by the way, if he has just chucked the towel in. He looks a second rate player now.

10.) 07 Jan 2018 00:43:08
If Rogic leaves? Have you heard soemthing ED? Rodgers not keen on him because of fitness/ injuries?

{Ed007's Note - That's the rumour mate. Rogic's ongoing fitness problems are causing concern.}

11.) 08 Jan 2018 00:13:53
Be gutted to see him leave on his day unplayable and scored some important goals for us. But can see what Rodgers is trying to do. Wielding the axe at all the injury prone players. Team will be unrecognizable come the summer if everyone goes that is linked. Jozo, Erik, Boyata, Gamboa, Armstrong, Henderson, Roberts, Griffiths, Dembele and a keeper or 2 as well as the loan guys like Allan, Ciftci and possibly even Bitton. Will certainly allow us to add some real quality.

{Ed007's Note - Rodgers is looking to put his own stamp on the team over the next 6/12 months so I'm expecting some major changes over the next few windows.}

Can anybody in Glasgow give me a weather update? Is there any danger of the game being off today? Setting off soon from Carlisle and the weather is brutal!

Craig Gordon has got to be brought back in as goalkeeper, at least until a replacement is found. Bain is hopeless, is living off a few decent saves early in his time at Celtic, consistantly pushes the ball into the danger area! finished with him after last night, a good goalkeeper should easily deal with the 25 yard shot that lead to the third goal, at least get it round the post.

There seems to be a school of thought that he is better with his feet than Gordon, call me old fashioned but the goalkeepers job is to keep the ball out of the net! I have no doubt we would still be in the Champions league today if Gordon was in goals.

Board and Lennon not getting away with it either, shocking tactics/ formation from Lennon and toatal lack of investment from the board. again!

Still raging!

Martinj1888

1.) 14 Aug 2019 09:27:31
Gordon done the exact same stuff against inter Milan and more.
If we are taking Bain out it has to be for a new keeper.

2.) 14 Aug 2019 09:40:53
No Gordon, no Bain, new keeper required!

3.) 14 Aug 2019 11:19:22
Gordon is just as bad. We need a new goalie a new manager and most of all a new CEO.

Lawell dithering cheapskate strategy of hope over reality has seen us going from investing to kill off Sevco to letting them become a threat in two years when they have feck all money. Cost us £60m two years running

If that’s not a sacking offence then nothing will get rid of the cant. Shambles but nobody is surprised we fecked up.

That’s the most saddening thing. We now expect us to do too little too late to save a few bob and ends up costing us over a £100m. What will it take for Lawelks fans to realise he’s the main fly in our ointment? Sevco winning the league?

I think a complete overhaul of the first team squad is long overdue, for me i would release:

Lustig
Comper
Hendry
Gamboa
Allen
Bitton
Sinclair

These guys are either offering nothing or are nowhere near getting on the pitch. I could be wrong but apart from Hendry are all the others contracts not up and the end of the season?

Theres also the Boyata situation, I would sell in January while his stock is still high from the world cup.

Obviously we need replacements, especially at Right Back, Centre Half, wide left and up font.

Getting rid of the deadwood should free up wages and allow 3 or 4 quality signings to kick on in the New Year.

January should be interesting!

Martinj1888

1.) 31 Dec 2018 15:35:36
See I still think there is a player in Scott Allen he needs a chance he’s done well when on loan he just needs to be given a chance.

2.) 31 Dec 2018 15:38:01
With new players required to improve us in several positions (1) are they available in the January transfer window? (2) can we get them? and (3) will they gel together and cut it on the park? After that display I think we’re deluded if we don’t think we’ve got a genuine title challenge on our hands. I’d like to think deals for new players are already done and dusted as we’ve known what’s needed since our last transfer windae was panned in.

3.) 31 Dec 2018 16:10:27
Again total bull about Sinclair offering nothing in the park.
Top goal scorer for the last 2 seasons.
Top assist maker for the past two seasons

3rd tip goal scorer this season already.
Over 50 goals scored in 2 and a 1/ 2 seasons.
He's not contributing?
Fecking nonsense.

4.) 31 Dec 2018 16:43:33
I must be deluded JFP. This is the closest the league will be until it is wrapped up with a minimum of 3 games to spare. We made the mistake in the summer of not strengthening certain positions but guess what we're still top of the league despite losses to Hibs Hearts Killie and the Sevies. Don't believe the hype with the Sevies, their points total this season isn't much better if at all than it was last season. Only last week many of their own were screaming for Stevie G to be sacked. The 29th was the be all and end all to them, their cup final, they were desperate and unfortunately wanted it more after going 12 games against us and taking many hammerings in that time, it is the nature of the fixture and has been proven many times over the years that the team that hasn't had a victory for a length of time has more motivation. We will strengthen this window and with the first trophy of the season already in the bag have a great chance of an unprecedented 3rd treble in a row. HH.

5.) 31 Dec 2018 16:49:13
Not been posting much recently, however I couldn’t sit back and let this nonsense go unchallenged- to mention Sinclair in with that crowd beggars belief.
Great follow up post kev.
Fair play it is Hogmanay- maybe you’ve started early Martin.

All the best for the bells boys

Also very sorry to hear about your loss mcgarvey - keep your chin up.

6.) 31 Dec 2018 17:04:14
To even mention biton is mental IC. If it wasn't for his injury he'd have played a lot in my opinion.

7.) 31 Dec 2018 17:12:32
Sinclair is just off the back of a hat-trick at one of the hardest venues on the card and although the whole team looked jaded and under performed at Ibrox, the team had just completed the most difficult December schedule possibly plotted by the 'random fixture computer', retained the League Cup and progressed to the last 32 of the EL.
Of course we need to trim the squad substantially - if only to stop paying players for feck-all, plus 'retire' the few that have seen their best days come and go; but we need real quality right through the spine of the team and I reckon we will recruit, rest and recover so as to tackle 2019 with determination, focus and professionalism.

8.) 31 Dec 2018 17:15:01
Island Celt and Kev agreed nae idea why Sinclair is included in suggested list of departures. Stevie hope your right ma friend I’m not buying the hype and don’t think their any great shakes but that performance leaves me concerned as does our tactics. We’re agreed we need to strengthen and bringing a number of players in is always a bit of a lottery. I’d also have liked to hear Brendan say aye the team were pants but I made a horses arse of it as well.

9.) 31 Dec 2018 17:44:04
I think Sinclair still offers something and maybe biton as well, however the squad is so full of players who are never going to be regular starters or even be someone you could look to bench to change things.
Malumba
Benyu
Kouasi
Hendry
Izzy
Comper
Lustig
De Vries (still there? )
Alan
Hayes
Gamboa

On top of that we have boyata and benkovic leaving at end of season, brown about finished and Griffiths been in and out for 18 months due to physical injuries and now indefinitely with his latest problem.

There is a massive rebuilding job needing done and it has to start this window.

10.) 31 Dec 2018 17:52:15
10 I would disagree about kouassi because I think there is a player there who again would have played more if not injured.
I would try sending him out to killie or the dons to see how he does.
Malumba I thought would have played more but if he ain't in plans let him go.
The rest I think have no value to our squad.

11.) 31 Dec 2018 17:53:13
I also disagree a massive rebuild is needed.
Just some key areas need strengthened.

12.) 31 Dec 2018 17:56:29
9 of the players above were signed by BR and I agree they are nowhere near good enough. I settle for a decent CF on loan and a permanent RB if we can get rid of some deadwood.

{Ed0333's Note - now there’s a surprise BR buying players of inadequate quality.

13.) 31 Dec 2018 21:37:43
Agree with Rich T I also think there is a player in Allen. Also can't understand why Sinclair is on that list but agree with the others on the list. Has to be noted also that I think BR made a mistake allowing Sviatchenko to leave, its not just the players he has signed that has let him down but allowing Sviatchenko to leave was also a poor decision in the transfer market by BR imo.

14.) 31 Dec 2018 23:48:31
Allen was never good enough.
We sent a better player to hibs on loan in young Henderson.

15.) 01 Jan 2019 03:13:58
I was glad to see back of Sviatchenko as he was too slow.

16.) 01 Jan 2019 06:04:54
Does anyone think he made a mistake in allowing Henderson to leave?

17.) 01 Jan 2019 12:55:44
Appears to be a bit of distain putting Sinclair on the original list.

Firstly I like Scott Sinclair, have met him and he's a gentleman but there is no place for sentiment in football, his performances are well below what is expected at Celtic. I am willing him to get back to the level of his first couple of seasons but it just isn't happening! Yes he has scored 9 goals this year, 3 of them are penalties along with the 3 at Aberdeen, but a good game every now and then is not acceptable.

Had also forgot about Kouassi and Benyu - can safely add them to the list as well along with Hayes and Izzy - the amount of deadwood is shocking!

Would love Scotty Sinclair to prove me wrong by the way!

18.) 01 Jan 2019 23:33:37
Rich T, you serious about Scott Allan? How longs he been at Celtic now? 3 years or so? I’m sorry but he’s just one of a number of players that have contributed absolutely nothing during the course of his contract, and when you look through the squad list at Celtic Park there is so many sitting there on decent wages in the exact same position as him. While bringing in new recruits is essential, getting rid of the deadwood is equally as important. We must be spending thousands upon thousands week, month, yearly on guys that are contributing absolutely nothing. That needs addressed ASAP.

22 Feb 2018 20:24:37
Just wondered what the Craig Gordon out brigade think after the game? Because you saw the alternative tonight! I'm not saying Gordon is perfect, he gets pelters for his distribution and has the odd rush of blood but does what a goalkeeper is supposed to and keep the ball out of the net, then there is Doris who can't save anything but can supposedly play with the ball at his feet, hurry back Craig.

Martinj1888

{Ed007's Note - Theses early kick-offs are a nightmare for folk drinking too much.}

1.) 22 Feb 2018 21:08:21
Goalkeeper has been a problem area for a while and we have failed to address the position properly since Forster was sold - when we had the funds to do so and we have been getting by with an injured veteran and a stookie stand-in for far too long.
Centre back/ Right back has also been erratic and inefficient areas and it will remain so until we bring in the quality we need.

2.) 22 Feb 2018 21:23:33
Absolute shite looking for a get out clause fact is we’re just no good enough accept it.

03 Feb 2018 14:59:35
We have had some shocking performances this season but that tops them all, Only shot on target in the 90th minute! No creativity, no urgency, even after the Killie goal, side to side rubbish with no clue how to break down a packed defence, Disgraceful! Not taking anything away from Kilmarnock but the SPFL need to get involved and get rid of that pitch! Would like to know how many players have been injured on that surface, football is supposed to be played on grass not plastic!

Martinj1888

1.) 03 Feb 2018 15:30:00
Issue is how BR wants to play. When you have a team sitting behind 2 banks of 4, you can try the BR way and get wide but Forrest and Sinclair were getting no where. So Kilmarnock were sitting deep so push players into the box and play long. Put them under pressure with long balls. So when they are under pressure they try and play higher up the pitch. That gives you the room. However BR is all about playing out from the back and building attacks. Sometimes you don't need to do that. Ofter BR is too clever for his own good. They set up with 2 banks of 4. Just miss out the first bank of 4. Go straight to the back line. Get our players in on top of them and see what happens. They will always push up once you put enough pressure on the back 4.then we have space and can play.

2.) 03 Feb 2018 15:39:44
Pitch is a disgrace but not worthy of an excuse for that performance. Didn't help that anytime we went in attack they all took turns to scythe us down. Lost count how many times Musonda got fouled.

3.) 03 Feb 2018 16:00:25
Agree these pitches shouldn't be allowed nevertheless I thought Killie were terrific and was actually quite jealous watching them defend as that's how I would like to see us defend. Malumbu was dynamite and would welcome him in our team. If and when Rodgers leaves I think Steve Clarke has to be his replacement. Credit where credit is due he is doing a sterling job with Killie.

4.) 03 Feb 2018 16:01:29
Also was impressed with Hendry👍.

5.) 03 Feb 2018 18:56:36
Malkybhoy we never put their defence under any pressure.

Neither! The league will be finished, there are only 10 games to play, assuming we reach the cup final - -playing 2 games a week all we need is a 5 week window in May/ June.

The Euros are apparently going to be postponed to 2021 at the UEFA meeting on Tuesday which will create this window, all associations across Europe will want to finish their various leagues.

Using England as an example can you imagine the legal challenges if Aston Villa were relegated or Leeds/ west Brom denied promotion! It would be chaos.

Have been a critic of Sinclair myself however he was excellent against St Mirren and there has definately been an upturn in form over the last few games (with the exception of Sevco where they were nearly all useless)

Im sure everyone is willing him back to the form of a couple of years ago, a consistent in form Sinclair makes a huge difference to the team at the top end of the park.

Some great football played today, for me that was the best performance of the season, Burkes pace is frightening. I too have been critical of Scott Sinclair but delighted that he appears to be getting back to his best, I think that's his 20th goal of the season, can't argue with that!

Looking forward to Thursday however Europa League for me is a bonus, of course I want to get through but next Sunday is a more important game for me, a win at Killie will go a long way to securing 8 in a row.
