It’s been confirmed if Celtic qualify for the CL we will be in Pot 3.
Also if we get past the Hungarian’s we won’t get either Young Boys or Red Star Belgrade in Round 3 due to other CL qualifying results.

Personally; I have been 'beaten down' in recent years with our lack of real intention going into early qualifiers and the hammerings under the previous manager, that are still raw to remember.
However, since that fantastic display in winning an extremely difficult EL group last season, with improving away performances; I think these players are growing in confidence and competence in Europe once again and I hope we can progress in either tournament?

If we cannot best them in a winner takes all at home ( note they are hardly match fit either ) then we have no right to expect to be in the UCL groups . this is the winnable part . and they are paid well to get the job done in round 2

Takes a big of strong mentality and patience and discipline . playing against any champion ( ie a team used to winning) is inevitably always a test as they will be confident also . BUT we need to be looking to progress

If we barter them and hit the post 20 times and lose 1-0 and play them off the park, that can happen . bit I would be disappointed if we didn't at least deserve to win

I only watched the first half an hour because both teams were brutal.
The Hungarian’s liked to pass the ball at the back without getting anywhere and the Swedes were happy to let them.
Celtic will win easily with a few goals to spare.

If we are to move forward then this is a good deal. Rogic gave us some class memories but it’s time for him to move in. Fitness will be key to our dominance domestically and our push for Champions League on the regular.

They stats came form a Celtic blogger.
I checked it myself and he has only scored in 7 games but 9 goals in total for his games in Scotland. ( he scored doubles at Raith Rovers and Brechin )
I have it he only played 55 league games on grass due to a few plastic pitches in the lower leagues.
It still isn’t great considering the part time opposition.

Thought klimalas touch last night looked poor. this boy might need to go out on loan as he's going to struggle for game time especially if griff gets his act together.

If anyone can remember French Eddys first few games in a Celtic shirt you know that he was raw talent. Touch not the greatest could dribble but less execution. Actually a lot of supported wrote him off before he scored against rangers in the 3-2 win. His development may fair better with our coaches. Hartson mentioned last night “he needs to tidy his feet up a bit”. In saying, needs a better touch and in turn better execution on the ball.

I think he gradually improved pre-season with a wee run of appearances and the recent break has done him no favours.
As long as he practices with the first-team and plays here and there continuously, he will get better - as will Ajeti.
With Griff down the pecking order due to injury or indiscipline, we will need them both to be as sharp and fit as possible.

Lennon didn’t trust Klimala enough to put him in the starting lineup against Killie.
I think he knew the 3-5-2 formation would have been the better option for Rugby Park but he never had the players to play that system.
