If Lyon win European cup would Celtic be entitled to more money.

Jake77

1.) 19 Aug 2020 19:17:10
Probably not.

2.) 19 Aug 2020 19:35:39
Depends on how much the PLC bet on them?

3.) 19 Aug 2020 19:44:26
Unless they had it on their coupon.

I don't see why footballers should be exempt from this wages cut if everyone else has too most at bigger clubs in Scotland and especially in England where some players get enough to pay 15 nurses for a year in a weeks wages at the end of the day football is a hobby and a privilege to play in big games with all the fans in stadium never mind crazy wages in a week people don't get working 20 long hard years I think especially English Premiership should take a percentage of the players wages to help NHS and realise how good they have life.

Jake77

{Ed007's Note - Football isn't a hobby if it's your job, and what about all those TV presenters and actors that are getting millions a year in wages? What about people in government - whose job it is to actually fund the NHS yet they have continually cut budgets and even applauded winning votes in Parliament to halt NHS pay rises etc - like Jacob Rees-Mogg who has a personal wealth of over £150 million?
Peter Lawwell is the highest earning employee at Celtic, why should players on less money than him take a pay cut on a legally binding contract, players will already be out of pocket as it is with no football there's no bonuses and their image rights money will also take a hit.
Why should players take a hit to fund the NHS instead of taking a hit to help the homeless, help starving or abused kids or even the sick/disabled & unemployed?}

1.) 03 Apr 2020 12:54:08
Everyone else is taking hit why shouldn't they I include lawell and everyone else at other clubs on big wages do you think cause there on big wages makes them exempt like everyone else in Britain who is off on lower wages.

{Ed007's Note - It's nothing to do with any exemption it's about what is written in legally binding contracts. My questions are why now, why the NHS that the government has destroyed and why should football players bail out the government of their own mess?
By the way, you do know that if you earn over £150k a year in Scotland you pay 46% (45% in England) in income tax alone - aren't they giving enough to the government as it is?}

2.) 03 Apr 2020 13:51:20
This is exactly what the tory government want. Distract the public from their failings with look at they big bad footballers and the public fall for it everytime. When are people going to wise up.

{Ed007's Note - And yet the Tories and the morons that voted for them have the brass neck to post videos of them standing at their doors applauding the NHS and other key workers.
If I had my way the hospitals should be asking folk who they voted for and if you voted Tory then you go to the bottom of the queue for ANY treatment, how many of them would be proud to admit they voted Tory then?}

3.) 03 Apr 2020 14:02:56
Ive never got my head round the tax thing. So if someone earns £125k they take home more than someone on £150k. Surely u would say to your employer to pay u £149k instead.

{Ed007's Note - In Scotland the higher rate of 41% is paid on taxable income over the Personal Allowance from £30,931 to £150,000. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland the higher rate of 40% is paid on taxable income over from £37,501 to £150,000.
In Scotland the higher rate of 41% is paid on taxable income over the Personal Allowance from £30,931 to £150,000.
The difference in Scottish tax on £150k and £149k works out at about £8k p.a. Steph, they probably don't mind paying that as it lets them brag/moan about being in the top bracket}

4.) 03 Apr 2020 15:35:08
Still have a ceiling on natiall inside think this is wrongj.

5.) 03 Apr 2020 15:38:15
I'll never need to worry about it, I'll just get on with trying to claim universal credit.

{Ed007's Note - Good luck with everything mate.}

6.) 03 Apr 2020 19:01:31
Dunno about bragging about being in the top bracket Ed. Remember that lunatic on Question Time who claimed he was on £80k a year but wasn't even in the top 50% 😂.

{Ed007's Note - 😁

7.) 03 Apr 2020 20:37:00
Cheers ed. They certainly don't make it easy. Been paying tax for 20 odd years, its easy to pay that but I've never had to sign on (thank God) so don't know how the system works and its not easy. I'll get there tho.

{Ed007's Note - Och I can tell you how the system works, firstly they'll be all nicey nicey as they divvy up endless forms to fill in - forms that ask questions you'd be embarrassed to answer to your doctor - then when the forms are all done they'll tell you what you're entitled to and just as you're thinking that you'll guddle through and get by they'll flip you over one fell swoop and f**k you straight up the a$$ as they lovingly whisper into your ear what you still have to pay out which is ALWAYS more than they're giving you.}

8.) 04 Apr 2020 04:20:42
Take a bow Ed. Some great words there.

9.) 04 Apr 2020 04:25:49
Keep paying all the players top whack whilst the club is not bringing in any income, result the club, any club, will go bankrupt, or cancell all the players contracts and let the players take the club's through the legal process, a long lengthy overloaded legal process, or come to some agreement with the players to take a reduction on wages, and this isn't taking a hit for the NHS, it's taking a hit to save our club and every other club in Scottish football, and I voted labour in the last election, but it wasn't because of that Corbyn.

If Tierney wants to go fair enough but the board better not force him out cause they get good money quality players like him are getting harder to get to celtic and want to stay the £25 millions quoted they turned down for boyata an ntcham so keep him hear for 10 iar then if he wants to join one of the big clubs in champions league let him go a hero it's hard £20000 a week or upwards of ££120000.

Jake77

1.) 13 Jun 2019 10:13:43
When has he said he wants to leave?

2.) 13 Jun 2019 10:26:35
There is no way the club will or can force KT to leave.
When he goes it will be his chose.
The club will let him know about big bids then if he wants to speak to the club they will allow it. If he doesn't they will knock it back.

3.) 13 Jun 2019 11:24:19
IF he wants to go, he goes with best wishes. I want him to stay but I hope we get top dollar.
If he does I hope he has a few years becoming the best in the world then returns to us on a free transfer when he is in his prime to be our club captain!

4.) 13 Jun 2019 11:36:58
I don’t think KT will be going anywhere. Calm doon. He will be here until we win 10 or fall trying. It’s paper talk and there is no doubt clubs will try and sign him because he’s class. But KT is committed to us. He will go one day probably. But not today. Who knows, we up our game in europe as well as at home and he might stay for another five years. I certainly hope so.

5.) 13 Jun 2019 12:23:28
Said earlier in the week that I was puzzled by this speculation.
Here we have a Celtic-daft young talented guy, living the dream.
I have never heard him state he is unhappy, unsettled or wanted to 'test himself at a higher level' - that seems to be the popular quote This is a very happy, contented Celtic player; Something the hun- media love to target with speculation and fake mischief making rumours and who's decision to leave may be being instigated for him?

6.) 13 Jun 2019 13:08:28
If pray that KT stays with us for years to come. But if an offer of £25m-£30m arrives on Peters desk you must be aff yer heid if you think he would leave the decision up to KT and no be telling him it’s time to go.

7.) 13 Jun 2019 13:38:32
Ice man all KT has to do is say no.
Then what does lawwell do?

8.) 13 Jun 2019 14:12:11
Is not as simple as that Kev. I’m not saying it’s going to happen but It wouldn’t be the first time a club has put pressure on a player to move on. It’s actually quite common where it’s the club decides that a player will move on even if the player wants to stay.

9.) 13 Jun 2019 14:58:18
I think Ed007 said a few days ago that KT's agent had been in talks with Lyon. Maybe those talks have ended and KT has said no thanks, I'm staying. Other sources have linked him with Arsenal and, of course, Leicester City and The Rat.
I'd be surprised if he went anywhere but I wouldn't hold it against the lad if he did. I'd have thought he would want to be here for 9 and 10 in a row purely because of how much it would mean to us all and himself but football is a funny old game, you never know what's around the corner with transfers. HH.

10.) 13 Jun 2019 15:58:35
Ice man it's not something our club does.
When a offer comes in the usually speak to the player to gauge what he wants to do.
Look at what happened last season. Good bids for 2 different players turned down, even though they knew one would leave for nothing.

How can love someone so much one day to way feel about brendon now thanks for everything he did but I hate him for walking out when he could have left with treble treble at end season on good terms and hero and maybe even Chelsea instead of Leicester.

Jake77

1.) 27 Feb 2019 20:06:41
Especially half way through season at a crucial point.

2.) 27 Feb 2019 21:56:51
The guy would be arse and necked out of Celtic park if he ever shows his face again! JUDAS.

3.) 28 Feb 2019 11:41:29
Don’t know what you expected from him really bhoys. He blamed players when things went wrong here and took all the praise when it went good. He left his wife for a employee of the club. Threw his best mate Colin pascoe under a bus to save his own neck. Leaked everything to the press. I have never known a man so up his own arse. Self preservating I honestly think he would drop his own mother for his own glory. Your well shot.

How about Paul mcstay for the new coach I'm sure he would love another spell at the club.

Jake77

{Ed007's Note - There's no chance he'd move back here from Oz where he helps out with our club partnerships.}
