If we are serious about improving as a team we should be trying to keep AJ. Captaincy might give us that, at least he’s got fight in him unlike McGregor.

I really think we should be trying to move CCV on. At this point we can get some decent money for him. Still think he’s declined since his first 2 seasons.

That’s why I think there now an irrelevance, they had chance and blew it, now those thoughts are with them for foreseeable, yeah they brought in some decent team players who worked as a unit, but it was pulled and held together by there better players who are offski, I know there’s an argument this bloom stuff will continue and get it right, I’m just no sure, I feel they had chance last season to sneak up on Glasgow teams and take huge leap forward, they’ll not get cl, they’ll fail miserably in whatever European comp there in and euro football will destroy any domestic intention they have, top 6 at best for them.

I agree that Hearts will not be a threat this season coming.
Last season Hearts only played 44 games and a few of them were against part time clubs in their league cup section.
Guaranteed European football and constant midweek fixtures will derail their league campaign this season.

They will learn the level of squad you need to compete domestically and in Europe. It is a different level.

The did well last season only because we took our eyes off the prize and downsized. A stupid mistake we look like we could be making again.

We could spend 50m and recoup that selling 3 players who want to leave and qualify for CL group stages and make 40m, so why doesn't our board understand simple math.

Why is it that every single thing this club does seems so feckin protracted? Are we, the fans, missing something? Is our anxiety because of our total mistrust of this board to actually do the job they are ridiculously overpaid to do.

Why do so many other clubs seem to identify a target, make a fair offer, sign the player and then get on with other business. I get that it can’t be that simple, but equally, it can’t be as difficult as we appear to make it.

@chasaboy I have now reached the opinion Martin is actually fighting Nicholson and co to sign players, they seem to do not want to sign anybody or progress or club, we are lucky Martin is our coach as he will make them spend the cash otherwise I believe he will say I tried and just resign, but the fans would not stand for that.

Now that MON has confirmed what he wants both Sarrachi and Iheanacho it shows how inept our Board are at doing business. These should be the easiest 2 deals in history to complete and in the case of Iheanacho the earlier the better given his fitness struggles.

That we are "in talks" is truly embarrassing and shows Nicolson and Co up for what they are, amateurs promoted outwith their capabilities.

What MON said was because he did not sign until a few weeks ago. Negotiations for SM and fozzy did not begin until after he signed.

That does mean we didn't offer them less money and negotiations over wages did not happen, thus delaying it further.

I think the hardest thing this summer ( apart from getting rhe club to separate themselves from the money) , will be changing the coaches systems, getting them not to coach the possession football, side to side, back to ftont and back again nonsense which was so easy to defend against last season.

MON has openly said he hates it and wants a far more direct attacking style, so the coaches will be need to change their training techniques.

If we get the rights players in, and the ciaches get it right, it could be an interesting season.
