They will both be looking for a hefty wage, Iheanacho would be by far the better signing. Even getting a good 45 mins from guys like Iheanacho is more than your average player gives in 90. Lakaku of Belgium is a prime example of this, not able to play 90 but so effective when he plays his part.

Same can be said for kalechi as a back up, but I always got impression mon used him when needed not because he wanted him and that could delay or stop a deal if he still didn’t fancy him.

Maybe not so much the recent past, but there was a time when I could get excited because I knew some history of incoming players and was confident they'd do a good job for us.
Now we are linked with lads I've never heard of, playing for clubs I've barely heard of, asking for fees which I've no idea offer value for money.

I'm exactly the same Mally, I'm sick to the pit of my stomach of this rinse and repeat every transfer window, shopping in the 1.5 -2m bracket. Haggling over 100k while expecting to sell our players for 25 million. Wouldn't mind if this strategy worked but the rate our squad is deteriorating is alarming.

I thought long and hard about renewing this season and did, but no longer prepared to be taken for a mug if we again go into CL qualifiers under prepared again.

I just hope its not the usuall panic buys we start entertaining as they are cause unrest without a ball being kicked, they have learned nothing from previous seasons where our levels keep dropping, worrying times ahead.

I know we still have plenty of time left to get players in which is fine if you only need two or three, but we probably need 7 starters, not just squad players. That's a lot of business that needs to be done to be ready for the start of our season.

We need a 1st choice GK and backup left back for certain. If we sell Nygren, Engels, hatate and Maeda. We will need a 1st choice striker and 2, 1st choice midfielders and a back up midfielder. I would also add a 1st choice right winger. That is the bare minimum.

Celtic is the only SPFL clubs not to have brought any new players in so far. I get that quantity doesn't mean quality but given that the window opened almost 2 weeks ago and our first domestic game is less than 4 weeks away we are not giving any new players time to settle in get some time to get used to the manager and team mates, not to mention the amount of players we require, to me it's crazy Has the board not learnt anything from the past few windows? I guess time will tell.

I noticed the subscription is going from £50 a year for the UK one that I have to £65.

Celtic are the only team in the SPFL that have not made any signings. Hearts have the most signings, with 9.

I think if you asked every manager, they want all transfer business done early, so they can integrate the new players and get them used to how they play. Which makes you wonder why our board never do their business early. 🤔.

He has made no secret that he is a DD man but I really hope he is all over this and pushing for signings.

If he is there as a shield for that board I fear for the legacy that he has built up over the years.

Have to agree Joe, there will be quality players that maybe finished leagues abit later and we will wait to try and get in, there will be some quality that we might not get a chance at unless there surplus at current club etc, you can’t tell me we don’t have targets or other players that we can get in early, especially when numbers are down with loanees not returning an some players going out (Welsh, Japanese player) wouldn’t have been in plans but make up

I’d suggest first week are so of pre season are fitness related, but we hear all time teams need pre season, Nancy perfect example of a team that needed a pre season, if most of our team won’t be the starters going forward surely it’s time to pull trigger on deals.

We hear all the time that Martin won us the league last year; how Maeda, and to a lesser degree how Engels, got us over the line. I agree with all that. No one seems to mention the return of the missing fans however. If there is one single difference that actually coincides with our change in fortune last term, it is surely the return of the Green Brigade? You couldn’t arrange a better experimental demonstration of fan power if you tried.

I agree that letting the fans back in was paramount to us winning the league.

The board crapped the bed and let the fans back in last season, when it became clear we were in real danger of losing the league, which would have led to mass unrest in the support.

I also thought they showed their true colours when they let the GB in when they needed them and then banned some of them right after the season was finished.

Did MON not win most of his matches without the GB in attendance? Now I'm sure the GB helped get us over the line. But let's now make out they are the end all and be all of the club and our winning depends on them. Let's not make out they are the 2nd coming.

I don't and will never agree with The GB or any fans group like them. They bring unwanted attention to the club, think they have god given rights and are thugs into the bargain. They are not the messiah.
