Another car crash interview from MON. Joe Biden of football managers.
28 Aug 2026 18:23:30
Just looks completely fed up, and how could you blame him. We don't see what goes on behind the scenes but the squad gets thinner without any real positive recruitment news.
Team have probably picked up Trustys illness, he mentioned Captain been vomiting, i'm sure he won't be the only one.
The recruitment team need to get players through the door asap, if a player was only coming if we qualified for CL and not interested if we aren't they why bother with that player in the first place, always find a player "waiting to see if we qualify" a bit pathetic, because my view is if you think your the player for us you'd push a move to ensure your here because you will help us qualify.
Its more likely short arms long pockets from the board and waiting to see if they can spend without actually spending the money the fans pay in.
Imagine if the club had actually switched on a good few year ago. when the opportunities were so easy, to actually have a conveyor belt of home grown players, who when sold would be pure profit plus a sell on fee for the club, like many clubs with our budget and income have done, allowing you to build the squad to a really good level, always of course knowing players will still move on because we will never afford the elite wages.
But for the short term let's just hope the bolster the depleted deflated squad.
28 Aug 2026 19:41:06
It's not with hindsight, everyone knew we needed to address our defence AND get at least a good holding midfielder in yet who ever it was to decide to go with what we had is just as guilty if not more so than the players on the park IMO. I couldn't believe MON saying we didn't need to strengthen the centre of defence not that I am blaming him for the horror show on Tuesday but he has to take some of the blame.
We have until Tuesday to sort this defence out l am not going to hold my breath on that happening.
28 Aug 2026 14:13:32
So we have a fans ban on our next home ( Scottish cup ) game and poss another ban if there’s any more issues, simple answer NO MORE Rangers fans in our ground and as for that lot are not worth the hassle.
28 Aug 2026 19:38:06
Best way to deal with it is for the fans to stop running onto the park under any circumstance.
I know people can get excited and stuff but is there any need at all to enter the field of play?
28 Aug 2026 14:06:42
The vast majority of the blame for Tuesday's fiasco has been lain at the feet of the BoD, (deserved) and players, (less so) but for me the coaching staff have got off rather lightly.
Yes, we're short of cover and options but just think for a moment. We were 3 up at the start and set up exactly the same as we always do. If we'd been 3 down after the first leg, we probably would have set up exactly the same. That's not good management, in fact it's downright poor!
Having seen the problems the LASK front 2 caused in the first leg, we made no adjustments to counter it, in fact we seldom make any adjustments at all, whether playing Auchinleck Talbot at home or Bayern Munich away, the starting 11, formation and tactics are the same. The fact the squad is short of options makes this even worse as we play unfit players or players out of position rather than change the boring predictable 4-3-3 dross.
I said about a month ago, MON should have given the BoD an ultimatum on transfers and he should have walked when they again failed us, rather than being a mild-mannered mouthpiece for them! Unless he calls out these charlatans, he is in danger of tarnishing his fine reputation as a Celtic great.
28 Aug 2026 17:01:58
Tuesday had nothing to do with the BOD.
28 Aug 2026 13:28:26
Celtic and Rangers stadium closures for their next Scottish Cup matches plus £100k to the visiting team for lost revenue.
28 Aug 2026 13:58:11
How is the punishment the same they need to view the footage again the safety was on them as home team sevco fane ran 3 quarters of the park firing pyrosat Celtic fans and assaulting their own stewards, yes Celtic fans should not have came onto the running track but that's all it was, this is nowhere near fair, remember the sevco fans were on when they thought they had scored earlier in game.
28 Aug 2026 14:57:26
We won’t ever serve ours then as we don’t get home ties.
28 Aug 2026 15:33:05
It’s based on anatomical abnormalities. Even though investigators confirm the level of disorder, weapons and match security were down to the blue half both get the same punishment as hawmaws are in short supply at the SFA.
28 Aug 2026 12:34:15
Benfica, Union St. Gilliose, Torreense, Omonia away
Marseille, Ferenzvaros, Celta Vigo, Besiktas home.
28 Aug 2026 13:26:42
According to the Average Coefficient we have the 7th worst Draw which I don’t see because I’m happy with the Draw.
Hearts and Panathinaikos both had the Best Conference League draw according to Coefficient Average.
Best case scenario we play our first match at home on the Wednesday because we play Sevco a few days later.
Match day 1 is Wed and Thurs.
Also I want Hearts to have Away games on Match Days 2 and 5 because we play them home and away only a few days later.
28 Aug 2026 12:03:56
That Europe group is very doable, a think 🤣.
28 Aug 2026 12:27:11
6 wins at least I feel. Away to Benfica and USG maybe get beat.
Providing we sign some players.
28 Aug 2026 12:27:12
I’m happy with the Draw Mally.
I didn’t want the English clubs.
I wanted a Portuguese club away and we got 2.
28 Aug 2026 11:46:56
The eight CL qualification failures we've had in recent years, I've read, have collectively cost Celtic FC £81M in lost revenue.
HH.
28 Aug 2026 13:39:45
Failure to get in cl 8 times will have cost more than that.
28 Aug 2026 13:54:10
Think the difference Cl n Europa is about £20/ 25m.
28 Aug 2026 14:02:50
Got to be more than that, if it is don’t tell the board that as they will see it as a job well done as the money needed to reach it 8 times would eclipse that figure.
28 Aug 2026 14:03:20
If you go back twenty years, because Lawell started this crap, the figure would be nearer £300 million!
29 Aug 2026 09:14:45
Alan Morrison mentioned the £300M figure this morning but if you went into the nuts and bolts of it, since Lawell joined the club, the figure could even be considerably higher than that.

I am on this site daily multiple times and love reading the posts. I do not post a lot myself but after speaking to a few mates here goes. This is not a knee jerk response to Tuseday but it has certainly not helped.
We need a new keeper to push Sinasalo, Doohan is never going to push him. Aright back first team ready, at least two centre halves, a left back, at least one midfielder with a bit of dig and at least one more striker (not a project) . The likes of Carter Vickers, Trusty are proving to be squad players at best so far this season. Ralston (he bleeds for the team but just not good enough) and McGowan are only in the squad as they are Scottish. Otherwise they would have been sold by now.
Hatate (has given up the ghost) , Balikwisha and maybe even Tounekti (too scared to take a man on) need to go.
Osmand deserves a chance at least coming off the bench with 25-30 minutes to go. If he is not going to consider Kenny then let him go.
When we had Ange, he would bring subs on as good as what was on the park. that's only a dream now. There must be better Scottish players playing that we should be looking at to improve our squad and keep up the homegrown quota for UEFA. I was surprised when St Mirren signed Ramsay (yes i know he has had his injuries the last couple of seasons) from Liverpool on loan. If we couldn't get Saracchi, (not sure why we are not in for Ferry from Utd) surely he could have been a shout for back up to hob nob hips if not take his place if he can maintain fitness.
The SFA are calling a summit to try and get more Scottish players playing. They should start by bringing back some sort of reserve league as the Lowland League is clearly not the answer for Celtic bringing players on to 1st team squad level. Not saying a reserve league will stop the young players coming through leaving for teams often in the big five leagues but if those teams see something in them, surely they deserve a chance in the first team squad. The experience they get in the Lowland league is no use for stepping up to the first team and when you have so called bigger teams coming in who can offer a higher level of football to play and i know they offer more money, but if they can see there is progression into the first team at Celtic, they may think twice about leaving too early only for them to vanish to the lower leagues down south. A couple of seasons in the first team on better wages getting more experience can only lead to us receiving better offers plus sell on clauses for the homegrown players which is all profit. Something we all know the board love.
Speaking of the board, there is nothing i can say that has not already been said on these pages. Sooner we can get a better run club the better. Clubs supposedly not as good as us on a fraction of the turnover are showing how it can be done in Europe. Teams qualifying for the champios League that mpst of us have never heard much about. Just let's you see what can be acheived with the correct people and set up overseeing a club.
Sorry if i have gone on a bit but its been a few weeks in the making.

My first post in a while due to family issues, guys when it is YOU that is ill that is bad enough to deal with, but when it is a close family member it rips you apart.
Mrs T took ill and was hospitalised and gave the family some worrying moments, but thankfully she is home and recovering well
But that result Tuesday almost put me back in hospital
To a man, woman, bhoy, ghirl we are all hurting and sick to the stomach, but guys do you think those CNUTS DD, Mini DD, Nicholson are hurting, No me neither they cause this every CL qualifying but simply do not care
Now we hear not qualifying will impact our transfer dealings, er DD WHAT feking transfers NOTHING is happening
All we fans want is a fair crack of the transfer window, we are not asking the earth, just bring in players within our budget that can improve the team.
28 Aug 2026 11:16:37
Good to hear yous all are doing well Tim
They will be hurting due to no millions for them to pocket!
28 Aug 2026 11:17:04
Good to see you posting again mate. Hope misses t is doing well 🙏
So far looking at the players leaving / coming in? We are +in profit? So no money has been spent as of yet.
Then add nothing spent in January, only shambolic wasted fees in loans?
The only way our transfer plan should be affected if its actually players refusing to come due to no CL? It certainly shouldn't be lack of money.
28 Aug 2026 11:17:23
Tim. Hope your wife is recovering well. Unfortunately, the board only care about money in the bank rather than the standard of football on display whereas the fans would like to see a good standard of football rather than money in the bank.
I don’t care which European competition we are in as long as we are competing and putting in an effort. I didn’t see that on Tuesday.
28 Aug 2026 11:35:29
Well said Tim. I hope all is well. The surplus we are sitting on was meant to be there for seasons we didn't qualify for CL. A bit of it Should be USED NOW! GET GUYS IN WHO CAN HET IS THROUGH N E X T YEAR! That's called planning ahead. Useless scumbags!
28 Aug 2026 11:38:44
Nothing more important than you and your families health Tim. I turned that rubbish off the other night after they equalised as I knew we were losing it in extra time.
It's not worth the stress.
Hope your missus makes a full recovery mate.
28 Aug 2026 11:44:36
Timlloy,
I've missed your posts of late.
Mrs. T not being well puts it all into perspective, I'm glad she's on the mend and is back at home making sure you're behaving yourself!
The rest, as they say, is a mere bagatelle.
HH.
28 Aug 2026 11:48:52
Glad to hear the Mrs is fighting fit mate.
I hope you and the family are all well.
28 Aug 2026 12:12:10
Good health to yourself snd wife.
28 Aug 2026 12:50:00
Good to see you in print again Tim. Family come first no matter what.
Great news Mrs Tim is home and doing well. 💚💚
As for our club, that's another matter. We are being slowly killed by a group of money men.
28 Aug 2026 16:54:47
Sorry to hear about Mrs T, I'm sure you and the girls will be relieved not that she is home, god bless you all mate 🙏.
28 Aug 2026 17:45:38
Welcome. back Tim. Glad Mrs T is on the mend. 🙏.
28 Aug 2026 10:12:20
Read the piece by Charlie Methven on how Celtic hierarchy have failed so miserably on every business and football level compared to other clubs in leagues at or below our perceived level.
Makes you wonder what we could achieve with proper leadership instead of the selfish cretans we have now.
28 Aug 2026 11:06:55
Our Europa League opponents are going to be tough.
8 difficult games, however if we spend on the areas we need to improve, there is no need to fear any of the teams.
That is where our dinosaur board needs to behave like a modern football club and invest in our future and not play Scrooge Mcduck.
Build a team that will win domestically and be together a year before next CL qualification, with the fans right behind the club or bottle it and have another year of discontentment in the stands.
28 Aug 2026 11:18:41
Can you really say we fail on a business level with the money retention we have?
The only argument I have for that is lack of preparation to qualify for the UCL each year which would see our bank balance increase substantially.
28 Aug 2026 13:08:22
Ken, we are a football club not a restaurant or a bank.
Our business is football and as far as I am concerned, our board are failing me and every other fan, the customers, by not investing properly for the future of the club.
That money in the bank is money we have invested in our club and being stored for a rainy day, this board is dragging us kicking and screaming towards.
You see that large sum of money in the bank, gathering little interest, that will not last too long if we continue to fail to qualify for the CL group stages, where the real money is.
They will either have to use that money to invest in the team, which they have failed to do in years, or continue along this road, where our success will not be guaranteed domestically at at some point, one of our competitors, will catch us up. Don't kid yourself that will happen if we keep heading in this direction.
Hearts almost did it by spending 10m. Only 10m, and to use the argument that we had that money in the bank if needed is a false narrative because our board demonstrated they won't dive into that money.
With this board, their failure not to finance the only area of business Celtic Football Club have, yes the football team, is neglect.
Continually spending less than you make in this business, and not investing in the opportunity to try and guaratee much more, in CL group stages qualification, is a totally false economy, when the money in the bank is used to pay a huge tax bill.
12m would pay for 2 Durans and in a year or two, which is going to make a bigger profit, certainly not the money in the bank.
So yes, as businessmen they are drowning this club whilst stading there with their hands on the key for the lifeboat.
28 Aug 2026 14:11:23
Ken, you pretty much answered your own question.

Scot Burns this morning claiming that the Sigur deal is dead after our CL exit. Not because the player doesn't want to come but due to the need to review our spending.
4m or less will get him. That is a joke if we are not prepared to spend that on a player we really need.
I hope its a false story but it is a worry that we are in a positive revenue over transfer so far this summer, we need to get rid of another 3 or 4 which would bring in up to 20m but we won't spend under 4m on a player who can cover 2 positions we need covering.
Look out for loans coming in.
What an actual embarrassment of a club we are if true.
