Having some major debate with other pals who are Celts and are tearing O'Neill and co to shreds over our performance. to me that's a disgrace

My response;
It's a symptom of a spoilt generation of fans who think success is a given.
Their job isn't to have us playing like Barca, this management team is in to try and salvage a season wrecked by managers and a board. Of course we want to see better football but they had to literally get loans to bulk our squad, we've lads out of contract, we've players who should have been gone 3 years ago. others who's head had been turned last summer.
For me, they are doing exactly what they should be. over exceeding in some ways because we are still in it. Until the end HH.

I'm a bit concerned by O'Neils interview after the game. He is concerned with the players energy levels. Why is that? At this stage of the season the players should be flying. We are anything but. Most of the players seem to be going through the motions. It doesn't look good 🤷‍♂️.

I think the current squad has shown a lack of energy and stamina for large parts of the season and it was very evident during the Nancy period where we often lost leads and flagged in second halves. Certainly, it was very evident today as Saints had the better 2nd half.

Think one of the biggest culprits is, sadly Maeda. Who 18 months ago was as good as two players in our team but has been awful for months. It's a sad reflection of our plight when Yang currently is our best forward and very few of the other options are being considered?

There is absolutely no way that team will win the league and I would only give them 50/ 50 for the cup.
No pace, no power, no creativity, the middle of the park is a complete shambles. The front 3 haven't got a clue how to press never mind score. Some players who should have been sold still there because we couldn't get fresh blood in.
How have the board allowed this squad get to this state is miss management at the highest level.


Were is the 5m winger from Belgium.
Or even the 2 loans we brought in January.
Why we are so happy to have 3 home games. they will be lucky to win them anyway.
Sorry but I haven't heard any good reasons from anyone to convince me that we will win it.

I've seen a Celtic team in decline a few times over my 69 years and the recurring reason is not building from a position of strength. However, this season has also been down to utter incompetence and arrogance from the top with a certain degree of self-destruction. 'Celtic Football Club have more resources and funds than all the rest put together, but the criminal mis-management is unforgiveable.

Whether we win anything this season is very uncertain because every week since the season started I have gone from game to game hoping for improvement in attitude, performance and confidence and once again we struggled.
The dynamo that is MON even looks flat and feeling the pressure. Hopefully whatever happens, his health does not suffer.

Terrible performance from a Terrible team so poor the gaps between the players is alarming and there is no creation what so ever that's st mirren what we honny be like against the top 6 teams, am hoping the wind had a say because another performance like that and its curtains.

The decline in performance, attitude, tempo and confidence is very worrying and although we have a few injuries at present, the difference between Celtic when MON took over from BR and the team during the tenure post-Nancy is unbelievable.


Most of these players are at less than 60% of their best and some of them I doubt even have a 'best'?
Still in the hunt but will the real Celtic please turn up ASAP.

I agree the Ref was useless however if we have enough quality players on the pitch we should make them irrelevant as we have proved 13 out the last 14 seasons.

Our board took the money for our best attacking players and banked it and cheated a stadium full of Celtic fans by not signing quality replacements.

That’s why we are currently third in a crap league and running out of games.

I’m aware opinions vary and that’s what makes this a great forum, but for me too many of this squad should be nowhere near Celtic Park.

Almost the same lineup as last week, useless centre midfield and attacking players.

Nygren at least contributes to goals but the other 2 are slow and predictable and way past it.

I’m hoping Celtic can win comfortably today for a change although I would take another scrappy win just now.

In the last 5 months we have only won by more than 2 goals in the league Once.
( In last 21 League games )
In the last 3 months we haven’t won by more than 2 goals in the league.
( 11 League games )

Celtic haven’t scored in the first 87 minutes in our last 2 Home games against St. Mirren but that should change today.
They have always been rookie Manager and the “Thunder” will be back with a brilliant atmosphere.

I’ve not had my usual old bet on for a while but it’s on today at a Boosted 4/ 1 with Ladbrokes.
Celtic to score at least 3 goals and Celtic to get at least 8 corners.

As confident as ever Buzz and I agree we need to start asserting ourselves more in front of goal; even though we clearly have striker issues, there's no reason why more of the others chip in with goals. The tippy-tappy has to stop, we need to press high, up the tempo and the wide men have to take on defenders and create.


Sounds simple enough, and I hope the 'thunder' makes the difference, as watching Celtic this season has been tough too often.

DD was yesterday being credited for Celtic building a good enough team to reach Seville.

I thought it was down to our Cooperative Bank loan we received in June 2000.
We got a £21M loan and also a £10.5M overdraft which helped Martin build a team to win our first Treble since 1969.

{Ed007's Note - The loan was secured against Celtic Park & adjacent land & Lennoxtown although DD did underwrite the 2005 share issue up to the value of £10m but the issue was oversubscribed so he didn't need to cover any shortfall although he would have bought shares.
DD has never put a single dime into Celtic unless it is to buy shares - he never has had to do it - and that's the way it should be.}

Fergus had a big task in building the stadium which he was successful in achieving.

Lawwell had the task of maintaining it which he has failed to do.

DD has a bit of making up to do however given the stance his brat took at the AGM I’m not optimistic.
