After watching brendans presser I actually feel sorry for the guy, every week he has to come out and bat away questions about incoming players while the board sit on their hands getting away without any accountability, its embarrassing and he basically saud there's nothing new to say, I said last week iam convinced no more signings will be made this window, Hooe iam wrong because the man needs help, what is DD playing at is thus strategy coming from him, we'll never know ?.

He said there's nothing new to report but there's work being done behind the scenes to bring players in to help the group. His focus is on having the players ready that we have.

I’m not concerned yet,
We could be allowing them to have a better transfer window this summer and then the same could happen in January.
Before our board know it, they will become serious title challengers within One Year of their takeover and that would be complacency from the Celtic Board.
Which would be totally unacceptable with the money Celtic have got.

I still believe we will come good in this transfer window if it takes to the last minute as usual.

Re BR's presser, my take;-

* our manager is clearly frustrated ?
* he knows and has communicated the positions that need strengthened
* players have been scouted and identified
* Tisdale and his team have and continue to do their job
* the board are looking for 'VALUE'
* the board are the blocker in quality players not being signed - yet

100% BuzzBomb.

Our penny pinching board always manage not to build from a position of strength and dominance.

Just do enough to stay ahead of them, that's all the majority want - I hear them say.

He's been saying for months that there's work going on behind the scenes so no change there.

And so far that work behind the scenes has brought in 7 players and counting.

We are going to sign players before the window closes. The main questions in the short term are, Will we sign the attacking player (s) needed before our qualifying games? Will we sign the quality player the manager needs?

Big Sutton article today was spot on. To sell Kuhn without a replacement lined up is complete incompetence! No matter what the player wanted he should not have left until after the qualifier or replacement brought in.

Personally I feel we need 2 wingers. At least one permanent transfer and potentially a loan with the option to buy. Giving us protection incase Jota’s recovery takes longer than anticipated.

Upfront I am unsure with 4 players in the squad. Osmand has barely had a look so would be served best with a year on loan. Kenny signing a new deal is great but is he going to get enough game time to develop? Being the starting CF for another club maybe in the SPL would be brilliant for his development. With Idah I feel he will become the player we need him to be, given time and competition. Yamada is too much of an unknown quantity at this time especially after his drought of a season in the J league last year. So we need another CF. How does that work going into the 26/ 27 season if we have 3 in the squad with 2 talented youngsters returning from loans? Suppose there is worse problems to have if this scenario plays out.

Bhoy88 the players brought in apart from KT and Nygren are squad players we still need to replace Kuhn and Kyogo. their quality will be missed.

Bhoy88 how many of the 7 are starters in your opinion, imo doohan nope osmand nope inamura nope yamada nope possible jsp could start and he's a loan nygren and kt prob definitely.

Strikers

* Kyogo sold (January) - no replacement
* Kenny - likely to go out on loan to gain experience (scored 1 goal to date)
* Osmund - never played a senior football match (ever)
* Yamada - not yet played in a competitive match, left out last week by BR
* Idah - our ONLY recognised striker

Wingers

* Kuhn sold - no replacement
* Yang - never a starter (as he showed last week)
* Tilio - will never play under BR and can't be sold as there's no one to cover
* Forrest - better than Yang but no longer a starter
* Jota - long term injury
* Maeda - our ONLY recognised first choice winger

In the coming weeks we may well;-

* sign quality first team players as highlighted by the manager
* cruise into the CL proper
* pump our closest neighbours in the first game against them (and I hope we do all those things) but that in no way excuses the glaring omissions in the two forward positions at the club given very we're approaching the middle of August.

To me, it's a strange mentality that exists at our club when it's as if something really bad has to occur before our board wake up and smell the coffee.

In previous years it was the monkey's directors jumping up and down at Hampden having beaten us, the COVID season when Lenny and the players sold the ten (on the back of BR walking as Lawell went back on his word) .

We've been in a position of strength domestically for years and years now, winning treble after treble and that's great, but as we all know, it's a two horse race and they've been financially lame since they were liquidated and buried.

Unfortunately, far too many of our fans are happy being better than them, and that, for me, plays right into the boards hands - the 'let's just do enough' attitude.

Last year we got a glimpse, a real taste of playing the big boys in the newly formatted CL and the Dortmund game aside, we did well and in a few of those games, we could have taken more points than we did.

BR, for all his failings, wants to build on last season and he knows better than most, exactly what positions need strengthened and which current players, in the starting 11, need to be upgraded for the team to continue to improve and go further in Europe.

I have no doubt we have a board that are more disconnected with the supporters than at any time since the dark old days of the Kelly's, White's and Grant's - may they all continue to enjoy their time in purgatory.

In order for this club, our club, Celtic Football Club, to change, there has to be a shift in the mindset of those holding the purse strings or, failing that, a change of personnel at board level.

Rant over and HH.

Folk keep harping on about Kyogo needing replaced. " The best since Larsson" hasn't scored since January! Idah has replaced him in the team and we have Yamada who'll take his place in rhe national team?.

09 Aug 2025 16:31:57
Pedro, what evidence have you that the club were penny pinching last summer . In addition to a sizeable lay out for Engels Idah and Trusty, I seem to remember they gave quite a few players new improved contracts, as well as decent wages in the goal keeping department .

I wonder how many million K T received for signing with us this summer and what is his salary?
We don’t know and it certainly isn’t any of our business now.

Give Kenny as much game time as Idah, has been given, and he will prove he is our no.1 striker.
