It's always risky making wholesale changes but if we play well and get a result all credit is due. Unfortunately even if we somehow blow Livi away today. he will revert to the bulk of the CL team to rescue the tie and as we saw against Aberdeen prior to the final that can backfire on us, but let's wait and see?

Not sure why he was worried about the first 11. They done feck all on Wednesday night. Midfield needs surgery, McGregor not what he used to be, Hatate an empty shirt apart from every 5th or 6th game. Bernardo needs and must start more games, thought he was tidy today as was MCowan. Benji MOM
Food for thought on Tuesday as that team were walking through our first team midfield. Hatate cannot start, Calmac needs to show he can still control the midfield. Calmac, McCowan and Engels? Benji and Shin up front?

Agreed Ed it could be a nod to both board and players alike, but the players from Wednesday night need a boot up the jacksie and this might be what they need but we will hear the narrative from BR that they are being rested due to the journey we face starting tomorrow. For me two of that midfield should of started on Wednesday night and if they play well today should start Tuesday night! Can i ask out of curiosity Ed just to see if i agree with you but which players are you referring too that you felt let the club and supporters down? Not looking for an argument just want to see if I’m thinking the same players as some other fans. Thanks in advance Ed. HH.
{Ed007's Note - The main culprit for me - and I've been saying for years how poor he is at European level, especially the CL - is Callum McGregor. He simply doesn't have the skillset to play as a No.6, when does he ever control a game, drive the team forward, lead by example of pushing himself & his team mates when the chips are down, he stands there passing itabout with the CBs, demanding to control every play then slowing everything down - you even seen the change of pace today when Beranrdo was taken off - and pointing a lot.
I'm throwing guys like KT & CCV into the group, Forrest too and Maeda, in fact the only 2 I'd give pass marks for effort to were Scales and Nygren, every player that failed out there knows what it means to play for Celtic and how important these games are, where was their professional pride, where was our captain & senior players that have been round the block so many times before? The players should have been screaming at each other to get the finger out and start getting the ball moving more quickly.
I've backed Idah all along but on Wednesday he didn't do himself any favour at all, sure he wasn't getting any service but he still needs to put in a shift.
Hatate is either brilliant or dog$hit, that's basically him and I thought he was particularly poor on Wednesday.
If you are lucky enough to play for Celtic, whether you're the captain CalMac or just in the door like Nygren, in every single match you must leave that pitch knowing you have given 100%, you might not have had the best game but you gave everything you had, if you haven't done that then you've cheated yourself, your fellow players, your manager, the Club and all the support that make sure you get your £1000s every month.
The team that started today would have beat Kairat.}

Mccowan was terrible today. 7 times I counted him giving the ball away.
{Ed007's Note - McCowan looked a bit of the pace of the game today & it seemed to pass him by. A lot of players today did show that they are capable of doing a job in the SPFL, Rodgers needs to start rotating players more often though to keep them fresh/sharp.
Some of my other thoughts on today, I don't know what folk have against Yang but if we bring in a "CL level" RW I'm more than happy for Yang/Forrest to be the back up, Inamura looks solid as LB cover but again at SPFL level when we don't defend much but in European/Ibrox/Hearts games he might well struggle, I still don't think we'll see much of him though. Shin I thought was outstanding today and I'd have no qualms at all starting him in Tuesday to show a bit of faith in him, if he gets a goal his confidence will just soar imo.
Nygren has looked solid enough so far but today he was immense out wide and it looks looks like the board have dug up another bargain ?
Overall it was a good day at the office in a game we needed to see some kind of a response from the manager and the players. As usual - which isn't our fault - the opponents came and camped out in their own box, we controlled the game and had some good chances and their 'keeper making some wonder saves, the goal was always coming though and in the end it was a comfortable victory and hopefully a few players have given Rodgers some food for thought before Tuesday.}

Completely agree ed. I'd start shin on Tuesday and bernardo ahead of McGregor as well but let's see if our "elite level manager" will do that.

Ed I agree with your comments especially about mcgregor i don't know if he's lost that touch of pace but everytime i watch he seems to do a step or two before he gets in his stride. Like running in quick sand then gets going, in Europe that seems to get caught out alot. Great player but we need someone who can do the holding role properly.

I was as disappointed as could be after Wednesday night . I think our team and manager believed the pre match nonsense about how poor Kairat are . The only problem was our team for what ever reason went out and let Kairat enjoy playing the way they wanted .
On top of that for reasons best known to themselves some fans decided to make the night miserable for fans that were close to them in the stands by ignoring the action and calling to”sack the Board “
Kairat’s manager couldn’t believe his luck as thought his team would have to beat Celtic and their fans, but our fans decided different
I am not saying that the fans having got a decent cause to protest against Board but surely our fans want progress in Champions League .
Every Celtic fan with a brain between their ears are aware that fans team and Board United make Celtic a winning combination. When we vary from that we are weak and easily beaten . There is little wrong with Celtic that cannot easily be rectified. Let us all get together and return our to our success.

There should be some normal fans on the celtic board too, so they can voice the opinion of the masses. that what we should have then the board will know exactly how the fans feel and what they can do to appease the fans.
