Just reading were close to agreeing a deal with Japanese left back Reo Hatate, a japan International, also says moved to the next stage of negotiations with maeda. Fingers crossed we're getting business done quickly.

1.) 03 Nov 2021 19:49:04
Saw that mate, In ange we trust.

2.) 03 Nov 2021 19:49:13
Hatate can also play in Centre Midfield.
He must be 2 footed, playing at left back because Hatate is predominately right footed.
Hatate is a good age at 24 in a couple of weeks.
His contract expires at the end of January, so Celtic could be getting a bargain.

3.) 03 Nov 2021 21:09:23
Makes sense if he can play centre mid aswell will suit anges inverted full back style.

4.) 03 Nov 2021 22:04:14
I would love this the boy is a player, smallish like Kyogo but really strong.
How many players do you know can play both full back and a no 10.
Him and Maeda would be great, also on wish list is Samper. Spanish boy playing in Japan.
What a window that would be.

5.) 03 Nov 2021 22:06:48
Good point Stevebhoy and also being comfortable with both feet. ?.

6.) 03 Nov 2021 22:08:30
Super excited about this if true mate.

7.) 04 Nov 2021 07:23:44
It's supposed to be billocks guys.

Ed, i see more paper talk of Lucien Favre, would you think this a realistic target? Reading his Wikipedia on the teams he's managed and seems to have done very well. Also plays a attacking style of football so it says. No doubt just another day another name. But has to be better than some that have been mentioned.

{Ed002's Note - Lucien Favre is looking for another role and would be good for Celtic but might want certain guarantees about making changes.}

1.) 31 Mar 2021 07:03:03
Favre's football philosophy would tie in nicely with how Celtic want to play. 👌.

2.) 31 Mar 2021 11:42:12
I'd be buzzing. We should be on the phone asking the question.

As much as im disappointed with tonight, i know were down to bare bones but should of had enough to beat them tonight, we did have chances just didn't take them so I'd be more worried if we weren't creating. I would say though games like these if were pumping balls high into the box we need a lump of a striker who can battle for them, maybe a option b type. I still think the league is on, they will drop points and have a bad run we just have to take advantage when it happens.

1.) 22 Dec 2021 22:13:39
Completely agree, we’ve got Giakoumakis who’s been brought in for that I would say but we’ve just been unlucky with him. I’d say keep the faith as I think Ange is the man. All the pant wetters saying it was his fault tonight are nuts! He’s been in the door 10mins and they’re saying we’re fecked?

2.) 22 Dec 2021 22:17:01
A cold, pashing wet Wednesday night in Paisley, in late December with 11 men behind the ball.

These are the games where we need a Plan B and tonight I think Ange missed a trick.

Still plenty to play for, points will be won and lost but the January window can't come quickly enough, the board need to support Ange because we need better players than a few who played in the Hoops tonight.

☘ ? ☘.

3.) 22 Dec 2021 22:25:47
Yeah agree so far big ange has won 1 out of 1 trophies, we were always going to have a few tough times but i do believe after the jan window we will kick on.

4.) 22 Dec 2021 22:33:52
The Greek has been a disaster.
Put his performances in Holland last season aside, he was injured and unfit when he came in.
He got a bit fitter and a bit less uninjured and he played a game or two and then he got injured again.
Is he made of rice paper? HH.

01 Dec 2021 09:26:05
It might be rubbish that im reading but it says spurs are upping the price for ccv? I thought a price was agreed before hand in a loan to buy deal much the same as jota, if that's correct about spurs can benfica do the same with jota?

1.) 01 Dec 2021 11:16:15
think its just usual paper nonsense, if we did have an agreement in place prior to him joining on loan it would be contractual.

2.) 01 Dec 2021 13:07:46
10m a read seems a bit steep but ad take him at the right price.

3.) 01 Dec 2021 16:32:39
I like Carter-Vickers but he is not top class. Neither he not Starfelt are good enough for Champions league. We need to find another Van Dyke or settle for cheaper. Soutar may not be any better or worse than Carter-Vickers but he is free and 6'4" compared to 5' 11" and we desperately need a left sided defender.

4.) 01 Dec 2021 17:07:03
John Soutar might play on the left side of defence but he’s right footed the same as Starfelt.
Carter Vickers is 6 foot and Soutar is 6ft 2in.

5.) 01 Dec 2021 17:45:29
If CCV is gping to cost the 'reported' £10M, I can't see us shelling that amount out for him.

At the same time I think we need to be aiming far higher than John Soutar.

We could do a lot worse than partner with a team in Scandinavia as their players have usually done well at Celtic.

Would anyone want duffy back? Seems we got him at his lowest, surely he would come back with a point to prove. he's form so far this season has been great. Would like celtic to try and get bazunu think he will be a great keeper.

1.) 13 Oct 2021 10:12:44
Duffy back? You have got to be joking.

2.) 13 Oct 2021 10:57:51
Without being too cheeky, Duffy is one of the worst players I’ve seen play for Celtic.

3.) 13 Oct 2021 11:01:02
We've no chance of getting Bazunu unfortunately, definitely not on a permanent deal anyway.

4.) 13 Oct 2021 11:09:13
With Jullien missing so many games since he arrived and possibly even more, we really need a decent. reliable centre-half that is better than Starfelt, but I don't see a return for Duffy on the cards.

5.) 13 Oct 2021 12:02:47
If you were Duffy would u want to come back after the time he had up here. No chance and especially with the fact he is playing so well for Brighton why would he. Its one of those things that didn't work out unfortunately. Time to move on.

6.) 13 Oct 2021 14:50:54
I haven't heard her lately but she is a lovely Welsh songstress who won a Grammy in 2009.

7.) 13 Oct 2021 16:11:37
Duffy for me just doesn't suit a team that is meant to dominate the ball. He is a backs to the wall defender imo.

8.) 13 Oct 2021 16:22:53
No to bringing Duffy back, he just isn't mobile enough.

9.) 13 Oct 2021 17:12:29
Kev, you can't have watched much of brighton then?

10.) 13 Oct 2021 21:45:50

Look into Duffy’s situation when he joined us. He had just lost his old man that he loved and who used to take him to games at Parkhead. How many Celtic players can say that? Watch Charlie and the Bhoys singing a wee boys dream. It must have been Duffy’s dream. Maybe looking up at his old mans seat was too much for him or maybe it was the C.V.1690. Or maybe it was just the wrong time. He loves the Celtic. Leave the cheap shots to them on the other side of the Clyde.

11.) 14 Oct 2021 15:08:27
Hope everyone is safe and well, and ready for weekend. Just on Duffy, as JFP1888 said, he was suffering a major bereavement and was isolating alone in-between training and games. His head must have been all over the place. Throw on the pressure of our 10 season and it's no wonder he couldn't cope. Plus that just with the info we know. It opens up a wider issue for me on what the club does to provide mental health support for the players. I know other clubs had a clinical or counselling psychologist touching base with players and families. I don't think we bothered. Wonder if that would have helped Lennon with motivating them when they returned?

01 Aug 2021 14:26:31
Does anyone know if the midweek euro games are being shown live on tv?

28 Jul 2021 21:18:15
What makes it even worse is when a opposition manager comes out before games saying they know how to beat us and then it happens, im sick and tired of defending celtic when we play in europe, i live in a london and eveyone slates the Scottish league how can you possibly argue a case when this happens season after season, i blame the board for not acting sooner, players should of been sold long ago that aren't interested. Eddy should never play again for us. Let him grab his money at the mighty brighton, everything just moves so slow from getting rid of a manager to hiring one and getting players in.

1.) 28 Jul 2021 21:31:22
This is what bugs me Stevebhoy. Teams are happy to draw us and they're vocal about how confident they're of knocking us out. Teams we should be mopping the floor with. Yet we always lose to them as the board every season can't plan ahead. It'll be the exact same next season if we can pull off what currently looks the unlikely by winning the league.

2.) 28 Jul 2021 22:06:12
The fact that people go on about saying we are a champions league team is laughable. We are lucky to be a europa league team at best.

Ed would this be the same the other way around, like our youngsters couldn't move abroad? So we won't lose youngsters.

{Ed002's Note - No, but clubs will be relutant to let players go.}

Christie got it through contact with Armstrong, international football should be cancelled for now, its taking players out of there club bubble and mixing it will never end well, celtic should call all there players back! Apart from duffy we need him for tomorrow 😜.

Brumbhoy clearing the ball is there bread and butter but up against a big striker who isn't scared to head a ball and with the amount of crosses we could deliver and how constant and quick it could be, defences would get confused with all the movement in and around them. More chance for oppo to make a mistake.

I really think we need to sign a big tall rough striker, maybe someone a little older that can come on for the last 20-30 minutes, put balls into the box and confuse the opposition. We need to be able to mix it up, if teams are set up for a draw with 11 men behind the ball then we need a different option someone who can disrupt a defence. Doesn't matter if there european class or not once they can do a job in the league is all that matters.
