I don't know how to take this one if true, yes he's older but he's proven in the PL and the fact he would love a wind up towards that lot across the city would bring me serious happiness. As a stop gap until the board decide to get there ducks in a row then so be it, anyone who wears the hoops has my backing but if this happens, it speaks volumes of the "ambition" of the club to take that step forward in European football.

I would be happy to take Vardy for one season - he would be useful in Europe and domestically.

I think personally it would be embarrassing. And show me that the board have NO ambition whatsoever for Celtic.

12/ 13 Days left of the summer window And we are so short upfront it's scandalous, I would say someone high up in the club who is responsible for us NOT getting the team ready FOR THE START OF THE SEASON should be booted out. And I am not talking about Rodgers. It's the same every year in recent years anyway that the board wait until the last week of the window before they look to invest in the team. Players need time to settle in why don't the board realize this?

Kind of reminds me of the Defoe signing, he wasn’t worst for them but is a 20 minute sub - if Rodger’s is being told “ you wanted Idah so he’s your number 1 “ and you have Vardy for when Idah is mince for 20 mins a game. You don’t get to spend 9 million on a striker then in the next window demand another striker - I know they sold Kyogo which is still sore for me but the money spent on Idah is what’s holding this up in my opinion. The board won’t like that 9m purchase if he’s not the top gun. I think Kyogo was only 4m? And he was superb.

There is only one guy with any power at Celtic. …. That’s DD. We are a one man show and have been for a very long time. We don’t have a board in the normal way a business has a board. A lot of companies are effectively controlled and run by one person, so we are not unique.
I guess what I’m saying is that if DD does not want to sanction big deals then he won’t and we won’t get any big signings…. It’s that simple.
Was DD happy with the £26 million we spent (wasted? ) last year? I can’t imagine he was.
Are we feeling the impact of this now.
I’m really not sure myself what’s going on but it looks to me at best a dysfunctional and muddled show from DD…
If he was and is unhappy why didn’t he insist on structural change within our business… or at least brought in a DoF.
Or is it simply he knows BR is leaving and he isn’t sanctioning any big spends.
Nothing adds up to me, hence I’m going for a muddle/ dysfunctional set up at our club.

Marc allbrighton former Leicester player was at Lennoxtown, not Vardy. Unless he was hidden in Marc's boot.

We paid far far to much money for IDAH. But that's in the past point is IDAH is never a first choice striker sadly And we surely need one in this window. One that Celtic should have addressed before now like wise the wingers.

While agreeing with the gist of this thread, we fans need to have some humble pie. We (broadly speaking) clamoured and hollered for Celtic to sign Idah and Bernardo (triggered to an extent by their involvement in the cup final winner against the hate mob last year) . On the evidence so far, we got it wrong as well as the Board. You may disagree I've not mentioned Engles as I firmly believe he will come good this season.

The board are waiting for last years money to start looking like it was well spent, and at the moment it's not. Qualify for UCL and they might buy 1 or 2 but they won't spend like that 2 years in a row. Well I dint think so anyway.

The way Rogers spoke, I think there is something in this. Its been a shambles, but Vardy would be, by z long way, better than what we have right now. Question would be is be fit.
We will get players in, but to risk nearly £60m to me is criminal negligence. Right now any additional firepower is welcomed.
