It's a matter of opinion whether the International Break came at a good or bad time for Celtic.
We had started the league campaign well enough before seriously misfiring and underperforming in both CL games and the Sevco stalemate.
The question is now, will the fallout and animosity between the support and the Board seriously distract the manager and players - or will Brendan Rodgers buckle down and focus on the job in hand even though he may feel undermined and disrespected?
The gaps in quality and positions that needed filled have been well documented, but it can also be said that the players available should have been enough to at least win 2 out of those 3 last games.
If the manager and team are too caught up in the club politics and the support possibly distracted then we could be in for a storm.
However, if by some minor miracle the team regain their energy and desire to play as they can. we might prevail and overcome?
Does the manager have a ready made excuse if the team falter, or with one more transfer window available, will he draw on his experience and have a healthier pick of his next job if Celtic actually have a victorious season.

Rodgers is the reason for the animosity between the fans and the board.

Animosity between fans and the Board started way before that Bhoy88…. Some fans won’t be happy until THEY are the Board!

Just ignore him Marty, think he gives himself thumbs up for his own comments?.

@Bhoy88 to put this all on BR alone is very blinkered.
This ridiculous situation we find ourselves in is very much a collective effort of all idiots involved.

Rodgers is the reason for the animosity between board and fans. ??

The animosity goes back for years, this ?show of a transfer window is just the straw that broke the camel's back.

The way the orc media reports you would think we are in 7th place in the league and just been pumped 9-1 in the Champions League.

Steff51 this is the problem - the board think comparing us to sevco means we're flying, we should not be comparing ourself to that freak show we should be comparing ourselves to teams in Europe like bruges porto benfica feynoord et al.

This is true, we don’t do enough to be like those teams, however we are still one best run clubs in world, and Scottish football does us no favours, the youth development and lack of competitive reserve (b team ) football means there a missing gap between b team u19 ish to first team, Scottish football is its own worst enemy imo (what would I do, force spl2 on Scotland, create new breakaway offer Spl teams a chance to field reserves u23 in spl2 and invite championship sides into new set up, offer relegation and promotion and force it through, off on a tangent I know but our club is going to always think small fish and ignore ideas of being like the teams mentioned above,

Good to see Peter on blaming Rogers for them being s hit. Was giving that story about Rogers to the Sun not enough. This us nothing new. When we were battling the old board we had the same types backing the board. We won. We will again.

Well very true Rogician?.

Like us BR is a victim of an old school board, a board behind the times.

I have no reason to doubt he came back because he was made certain promises which the board have now realised costs money and they are going back on their promises.

Yes BR and the players are solely responsible for the CL exit but after that he would have expected backing to ensure we get an opportunity to qualify again, by investing to ensure we win the league.

BR wanted them to move forward as a club as other 'smaller' league clubs have done i e Ajax, Brugge and Bodo Glint. Invest to make money and success.

They did it last season but clearly chocked on how much they spent, even though they still made a profit.

Speculate to accummulate sounded good but in reality comes with a risk.

I think they looked at Idah, Trusty, Bernardo and Engels and read the media nonsense that they were struggling and had dropped in value and s**t their pants (excuse the language) .

In a sense so did BR by dropping all 4 of them.

A modern world class run club would have a DOF and our lack of that appointment clearly demonstrates their desire not to modernise.

With a DOF, DD and the board would not control who the club buys or sells.

The Manager would manage and the DOF would get him players, and the board would still be able to sit like Scrooge McDuck counting their money.

Like the Kelly's, they are 20 to 30 years behind the curve. Clubs have moved forward and we remain a constant.

Their excuses just amount to fear of doing the right thing.

Not one of the reasons (excuses) in their press release stand up to scrutiny and they know it, so they will now galvanise and hide behind the walls of CP and wait for the dust to settle and resume like hampsters on a wheel.

Bhoy88 . It isn’t today or yesterday that gullible Celtic supporters believed the nonsense that the SMSM have made up to try to help the h. ns
H. ns have been in an awful disarray this summer despite or because of their American take over. SMSM came in heavily against Celtic Board to try to give h. ns some hope .
Bhoy88, we have plenty of evidence over the last month or so at the valuable work SMSM do for Sevco.
