The only time to play Maeda up top is when we are under the cosh and playing on the break, otherwise play him on the right now (with Forrest as back up and Yang in the stand! ) , and Tounetki on left. Jota back in January when I expect Maeda to be sold.
I can't make my mind up about Balikwisha as not seen enough yet and no idea what his best position is.

Maeda looked very lethargic and far from his best but Hatate was even worse. Has been hopeless all season yet still gets picked anyway.
Time to put Engels in as central/ defensive midfield and move McGregor forward. The first and only time a midfielder, (Nygren) ran at the Red Star defence, we scored. Need McGregor doing the same on the other side.

Meada made 3 runs in the first 20 mins when mcgreagor had the ball and he passed sideways then the ball ended up back in the defence I would stop trying too if all I done is made runs into the box midfielders should be playing thru balls or balls over the top but mcgreagor just slows the play down, at least hatate tried a couple of thru balls none payed off but I would rather see us trying to break forward with speed think mcgreagor should be rested and Bernardo giving a chance.

I think Nygren would be better playing on the right where we are short of numbers.
The only match he’s been exceptional and gave a MOTM performance was against Livingston and he played on the right.
He hasn’t played there since.
Celtic have plenty of good talent to replace him in our midfield.
Nygren is a good player but I don’t think he protects the ball like a midfielder should and often waits on the ball.
He basically looks like a wide man playing out of position in a midfield Number 8 position.
Maybe he would be suited to a Number 10 in a 4-2-3-1 like Weejoe mentioned or on the right in our normal 4-3-3 formation.

McGregor is done sadly, he doesn't have the leg's anymore, good servant over the years, but there's no room for sentiment in football, it's also not helping him having the lethargic Hatate alongside him, at least Nygren tries to be creative, for me we need to buy a playmaker and a midfield ball winner/ enforcer type in January.

Yes Buzz, I posted earlier about the manager's reluctance to alter his formation even though it would give us better options and alternatives as we have been found wanting with the current three. Either of Bernardo, Engels or McCourt could replace Hatate and although McGregor is captain, he too should be rested more as it's plain for all to see that he is sadly past his best.
Nygren is creative and has great awareness and should have been on the right last night in place of Yang.
However, I think the manager is too reluctant to change his 'default setting' formation or personnel.

McGreggor has been nowhere near it for sux months. Telling everyone to play forward and he plays safe.
Him and Hatate providing the square root of FA. It needs to change.
