Think he will play Forrest. but doesn’t really leave an option from the bench on the wings. Also, I’ve lost patience with Hatate, was poor to non existent for majority of games last season and got worse as season progressed. I would play McCowan in his place. Apart from that I agree with the team you have.

Could put Nygren out wide right and have a midfield 3 of Hatate, Engels and Calmac. Would love to see Yamada start but I think he'll go with the team I posted above.

No idea why Hatate gets a start.
Said it last season that I think he is better coming off the bench as if he doesn't play in the first 15mins we are a player down the whole game.

Tend to agree. When Hatate actually plays he’s great. But IMO he’s lost his edge.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Kenny played on the wing either such is our lack of options.

Being honest, I'd pump Hatate elsewhere if the opportunity comes up. Would it weaken us more than we arguably are now? No it wouldn't because apart from the odd spark of brilliance, we've had nothing out him. As I've said before, for me an accurate barometer is (not the odd killer pass in a home match against say Motherwell - no disrespect to Motherwell) but could you trust him to rise to the challenge in the trenches against the hate mob? I think we all know the answer to that. Play McCowan/ Engels instead.

I'm inclined to agree with you 9iar on Hatate, and what he's been bringing to the team now for several months.
He seems to have been treading water for some time when you consider the player, who first arrived at CP, under AP.
Possibly a combination of the injury last season and talk of his head being turned by one or two around him, re a move to a 'bigger' club when his stock was high, have taken away from a midfielder, who, on his day, can really impact a game.

Yamada must be thinking do I have to talk with a Irish accent? to get a game after the St Miren game last week when Idah was terrible yet still played most of the game.

Hatate is a present day McGeady, you know what you're getting out of him after 15 mins.
For an attacking midfielder the game always seems too far in front of him, like he doesn't knowing he's playing as a 10 or an 8.
(Allegedly) he was promised a move, in January 2024, meant to be to an Italian club?
Only if he signed a contract extension, which he did in 2023, as he only had a year and a half or so left on his 1st contract.
Dont know if Celtic had a change of heart or the Italian team did. ??♂️.

Thank God all Celtic must do is replace Kyogo and Kuhn .
Most of our passionate fans spent the last few months of season criticising Kuhn as he had in many supporters eyes downed tools in January and wasn’t even a shadow of the outstanding player we had for a few months of the 12 he spent with us .
Kyogo similarly will be very easily replaced because he too was only a shadow of himself for18;mths before he left in the middle of the night . We were told by our expert supporters it was all BR’s fault as Kyogo couldn’t play his system . So thankfully another easy position to fill .
We all know we need a right winger and probably a striker ( certainly a striker if Skin disappoints . I was worried as the thought of us getting the quality we needed was becoming harder and harder, but now I reckon no problem.
