Ed do you think MON will be offered some sort of role, or like he said he rides off into the sunset, he just seems to have something that settles everything.

He will leave the club for a second time with great appreciation and affection. He (and SM) earned a huge thank you from the support and dare I say the Board for deflecting the heat away from them and reviving team confidence, with great results and performances.
I agree he reaizes the job in hand is a huge task and I say hand because the other one will always be tied behind your back with this shower of shegite running the club.

Did he deflect heat away from the board? I don't think anything could do that until major changes take place.

I'm not sure, particularly given what happened at the AGM, that MON would want to be anywhere near this board - in any capacity.
He was held in the highest regard by the supporters up until 4 weeks or so ago, let alone what he and SM have done in the interim, which in my opinion has elevated his status at Celtic F. C. even higher.
I doubt that he want to associated with the WANK*RS in the grey suits that call themselves a board and be tainted by them.
Once upon a time, men like MON had statues made in their honour to celebrate their glories, the likes of those who sit on our 'board' ended up with their heads on spikes.
