To anyone paying respect to all the past and present armed personnel on Remembrance Day.

Ask yourself this. Do you want to pay respect to those people who raped, committed genocide, tortured, killed innocents, put people in concentration camps, took people's homes and countries from them, harassed and beat people just because we wanted their land and resources?

I know I won't be showing them any respect.

{Ed007's Note - We go through this every year, my opinion is if you want to wear a poppy wear one and if you don't then don't. It shouldn't be forced on anyone either way and if you're at a game where there is a minute's silence and you want to boo then boo, if you want to stay silent just do that.
It 100% should have no place in football though unless it is just fans arranging something.

Agree3 Disagree3

It's bollocks same sh#t every year, my auld man was a gunner in the Royal navy for 12 years and I've never worn one nor has any of my family my mother's side came from Ireland so it was never happening, purely down to choice I don't care either way but it's sevcos high point of every season.

Pretty sure anyone wearing a poppy can attend local memorials all over the country an don't need to use a football match, at least it's a home game and we don't need to see the drivel the news outlets send out after away days on this day every year.

I see Dundee refused the wee black and blue smurf Brigade putting up their tifo.

I am a Catholic as was my grand parent. We are both Scottish. My mums dad was a Protestant and both him and my other grandparent fought in the war. My mums dad was in a Battalion who crossed the Rhine and helped liberate Berlin. Now all that happened a long time ago but I still chose to be respectful for the good people who helped defend this whole island from the real oppressor of the time.

One of the old yins was in the Black Watch… I didn't hold him accountable for the historic highland clearances that they were implicated in either. He gave up his prime days to fight and I will remember them both.

Also to touch on Mallys post - my Grandpa who was the catholic didn't do it for the queen. He binned his medals as he walked off with them. That was his choice but he still fought. He was also Navy. Cost him his hearing and scarred him deeply.

Absolutely ma auld man never mentioned any of this p@sh.

I will choose to not to observe any British armed forces remembrance. I will light a candle for the three members of my family murdered by the British army and for my grandfather who was interned without cause or trial.

If it wasn't for the working class men in Britain fighting in Ww1 and Ww2 we would all have very different lives if any - you def don't need to support this but it costs nothing to respect or ignore this - we are better than this.

{Ed007's Note - How we would have different lives, we'd all be talking German? The Germans don't all talk English, even American or Russian, you know the countries who actually won the war... And if you look at social media and how $hite it is to live in the UK what did "we" win - 80 years later we've got right wing Fascist lunatics trying to seize power, isn't that what they fought WW2 against?
Lest we forget they got leathered & $hat it at Dunkirk, we should be more grateful to the Russians and Americans for beating the Nazis.}

Just look at how the countries the Nazis occupied suffered and the people were slaughtered - geez it is pretty obvious Ed.

{Ed007's Note - Look at the countries the Brits occupied and the people who were slaughtered across the globe before and after the 2 "big" wars. Have you read any actual history or just listened to propaganda, the Brits forced their language and hatred on half the world including Ireland.... again, what would be different in the UK if the US and Russians hadn't beat Hitler?
Have you ever heard or read about the British Empire and how that came about, how they held control over half the world? It's awfy similar to wee Adolf's plan, and was backed by the British monarchy all along, the same king/queen royal Nazi supporters.
The only way the Nazis would have ever occupied the UK was through politics, nobody had to die over it.

09 Nov 2025 23:25:13
Aye ok Ed - we should have stayed neutral and let it play out - aye ok.

{Ed007's Note - They got leathered at Dunkirk and if it wasn't for the US and Russia you're saying we'd all be talking German, winning football tournaments and would never had Thatcher...
How would Hitler have taken over the UK without the political help of his friends in the British government, establishment & Royal hierarchy?

10 Nov 2025 00:01:59
Aye ok.

{Ed007's Note - There's that Dunkirk spirit, shat it, defeated and running away...
