Celtic share price up 6% today. The Tory board are winner's again, not a bad return for a days work.
BTW, up 30% year on year, with these returns nobody's leaving.

The media are having a field day over this.

A dominant club in total dissaray they are saying.

I still think it is better we part ways now and not at the end of the year or season.

Continuing on our current path, we would have been lucky to end up 2nd in league.

We have a chance to reset and start over again.

Thanks BR and good luck going forward but it's best all round we parted.

We don't really as the cause of the problem remains at the club and lots of us have had enough of Desmond and the board l.

28 Oct 2025 13:44:41
Ed, any reason why the Chief Finance Officer and not the CEO or Chairman put out the media release about BR leaving and why DD put out his message on behalf of himself or was it the board, considering he is not a board member.

It is just confusing.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know why it wasn't the Chairman or CEO that signed it off. The support have been screaming out to hear from DD, and now we have.}

WeeJoe, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, that's why we have free speech. But every 2nd sentence you write is about the board.

Now our boards not perfect not by a long way. But look back to Fergus McCann when he took over, he didn't spend loads but left us on a sure footing. Was anyone complaining about that board after rescuing us.

Fans will point to the 70 odd million in the bank, the big proofs and the selling of our star players for millions, and there's no absolutely no doubt more could have been done in the transfer window this summer. But it's not like the board didn't spend last summer, just not on the right players.

Would you rather have a board who spends every penny we have and puts us on the brink or a board that's a bit more calculating in its expenditure?

Be careful what you wish for, it might not be any better.

The Celtic fans need to accept we're not getting rid of Dermot Desmond.
DD recently mentioned he will never sell has shares and they will be kept in his family for the foreseeable future.

There's a good chance Lawwell and Nicholson will be replaced soon and then we can get back to some kind of normality.

Yes there will be fans that still won't be happy because they won't stop until DD is forced out but keeping these protests going is affecting results on the pitch.

I think we should concentrate on supporting Celtic on the pitch and our new management team.
But keep the off field "not another penny" protest going until it's reviewed on February 3rd after the January transfer window closes.

Hopefully by February 3rd we have a good manager in place and decent money has been spent on our squad in January and we still have a good chance of 5 in a row.

Then the decision might be made to start buying merchandise Etc again and then we can put all the drama behind us.
I just feel we're wasting negative energy going after DD.

28 Oct 2025 14:36:47
Weejoe, while I agree the board have their failings. I'm not sure you're going to get the changes you're after.

28 Oct 2025 14:55:49
Buzz,

Serious question so I would welcome your view.

Do you believe anyone other than Shaun Maloney will be appointed Celtic Manager?

{Ed007's Note - I'll 100% guarantee you that Shaun Maloney won't be appointed Celtic manager.}

28 Oct 2025 14:58:30
Well said Greentree! The cause of the problem has left the club!

28 Oct 2025 15:58:00
Do you think we will go after a top coach or a yes man though?

Who would be your choice?

28 Oct 2025 18:47:44
Greentree, Fergus was hated when he was in charge and I remember him getting booed when he unfurled the flag after we stopped 10 in a row. His henchman jock brown and was also hated.

Let me outline some of the reasons I loathe DD and the board.

1. They resurrected Rangers and then pretended they didn't.

2. They failed to back resolution 12 and go after Rangers for cheating to deprive us of a CL space.

3. They appointed the war criminal John Reid.

4. They tried to appoint Bernard Higgins as head of security despite him terrorising and criminalising many of our fans whilst working for police Scotland.

5. We have regularly failed to invest in our team prior to CL qualifiers which has cost us well over 100 million in lost revenue.

6. They have regularly failed in the transfer window, which has weakened our team and cost us trophies.

7. They lied about our own fans in the hope of marginalising them when they said Glasgow city council was going to shut us down and that our fans caused bother at Easter road despite not being in attendance.

8. They banned our fans for supporting Palestine.

9. They have regularly dropped the ball when it comes to succession planning

10. They fail to engage with us despite us being the lifeblood of the club.

I could go on all day but I'm sure you get the drift.

29 Oct 2025 00:13:35
Nope sorry WeeJoe I'll never get your drift. I could address all your points with a counter argument, but quite frankly I'd be wasting my time.
