Is this a plausible scenario, CFC board conduct interviews in London, decide no one is suitable. Give the gig to MON and Maloney, six months down the line MON retires because he's too old and Maloney get the managers job.
Just a long way round to get to the position they had planned all along. Just a thought but not outwith the realms of possibility for this lot.
{Ed007's Note - There was no interviews in London.

Where did this story of interviews in London come from, some guy at sly news?
We all know that doesn't happen, DD or possibly his boy will give there choice a call and that will be it.

Out of curiosity (and ignorance) how does the process work, bearing in mind how cynical I am of everything and anything this board does.

I believe the board give themselves 6 months after the manager leaves to come up with a short list of suitable replacements.
The next step is to put the names into a tombola and draw one out. They then check with Desmond that it is ok to phone them, after which they draw straws to see who makes the call.
They then schedule an interview with the candidate. If the candidate is interested they give them three months to sign a contract. If they sign it we have a manager, if not it's back to the tombola.
