Shaun Maloney has managed 134 games with a win % of 36%, Rohl has managed 89 (pre Sevco) with 38% win. Similar levels of support roles and managerial experience, yet no media fanfare about what a great appointment Maloney "could be" unlike Rohl. Spin.

Agree3 Disagree0

That's because he won't be a great appointment.

{Ed007's Note - Rohl's their manager/head coach, Maloney is an interim assistant manager helping an interim manager steady the ship.}

As you can no doubt tell ed, I have had enough of our leaders.

I just cannot understand how they can continually make bad decision after bad decision and heads have not rolled.

{Ed007's Note - What would you have had them do? Rodgers resigned yesterday, we have a a game tomorrow night and a LC semi Derby on Sunday - Neil Lennon?
We were down to the bare bones, usually Kennedy would take over but he was away, 2 or 3 other coaches too - so what should DD/Celtic have done after Rodgers snaked out again with 2 massive games coming up?
Not one single person has offered me up a better option to appointing MON and Maloney.}

28 Oct 2025 21:37:29
By the sounds of it this was on the cards for a while. Therefore, they Gould have had a succession plan in place for when it happened.

{Ed007's Note - Never mind "by the sounds of it" or "on the cards" gibberish, stick to the known facts, DD phoned MON yesterday afternoon and said Rodgers had resigned would he be interested - unless you're calling MON a liar, which wouldn't surprise after some of the stuff I've read about from so called supporters today about a Club legend - from yesterday afternoon with a crucial game tomorrow night and a LC semi against Them 'Uns, what would you have done?
It's OK moaning about what's happened but at least offer up an alternative.... who else could Celtic have turned to yesterday?}

28 Oct 2025 21:57:27
I don't get paid 820,000 a year plus bonuses. It is the boards job to plan for these eventualities and they obviously hadn't.

{Ed007's Note - What would your plan have been for Rodgers resigning 2 days before a crucial league match and a Derby Cup match... I don't make Jack shit £ from doing this but i''ve got the balls to state my opinion and stand by it.
Will we just ignore all your posts and opinions from now now as you don't get paid for them?

28 Oct 2025 22:02:29
Ma heeds sare way this forget the facts and just have a moan.

{Ed007's Note - It's pathetic.

28 Oct 2025 22:10:12
I would like scott brown, i don't take all the not ready,

28 Oct 2025 22:12:11
Scott brown has more experiance than when lennon was given the job.

28 Oct 2025 22:22:57
Joe you need to shake off the I hate the board nonsense with every message you post. Your negativity us unbelievable.

What would you have done when BR told you he was leaving. Who else could the club have got in to settle the ship.

MON is probably our best choice until the board find a successor.

28 Oct 2025 22:51:56
It is blatantly obvious from Desmond's statement that there was a massive fallout between the board and the manager and he would be replaced. So where was the boards succession plan?

The same happened with Lennon in the covid season. The board let him continue for far too long and it lost us 10 in a row. When they eventually sacked him months later, they did not have a succession plan in place and we were managerless for months. We then had the Eddie Howe fiasco before they finally appointed ange.

28 Oct 2025 23:42:49
So the board may have acted quick thid time to get a interim replacement but that's not good enough for you, WeeJoe.

You bad mouth the board for not trying to get the best for Celtic but remark the Eddie Howe fiasco. At the time was he not the best and. Maybe worth waiting for till circumstances turned and he walked away. If I remember right it was because he couldn't get his backroom team up.

Your negativity is really the worst I've ever read. But of course everyone is entitled to their opinion as I am about your negativity.

29 Oct 2025 04:15:34
MON will give the place a lift, he's a man manager and that can only be good for the lads who are playing within themselves.
The board deserve a wee bit of credit for acting as quickly as they have.

29 Oct 2025 05:32:59
It is who they appointed I have an issue with. Loved Martin O'Neil when he first came but I think this time it stinks of desperation as I don't think he is suited to our current setup and I see him taking us backwards, just like Lennon did.

Call it negative if you wish, but i call it realism. To predict future behaviour, you look at past behaviour and our board have a poor track record with their last 2 caretaker managers. They gave us Lennon, which would have been fine if it had been to end of season but they made him permanent. They then had John Kennedy and it took them months to find someone and their sluggishness to act cost us 10 in a row that season. So pardon me if I am not filled with confidence with this board.

29 Oct 2025 06:55:33
Wee Joe, if MON is as successful as NL was when he took over then I'll be happy. Who would you have brought in at such short notice?

29 Oct 2025 10:55:42
I was curious if MON possibly asked Lambert if he wanted to help interim. Just watched his interview with BBC.

29 Oct 2025 10:15:19
MON knows the club, knows the demands of fans and the club to win matches.

Maloney is young, understands modern tactics and has been around the Celtic setup and knows how it works.

So Joe, who would you gave picked, who is more suited?

29 Oct 2025 17:33:00
I would have pre-empted his leaving and had a succession plan in place and got a permanent manager in.

The board obviously knew there was a strong possibility that Brendan was not going to last after the internal rift. They should have used the time to find a suitable replacement to step in. That is what a board with foresight would have done.

{Ed007's Note - How did "the board obviously know" when Rodgers himself said he would see out this season unless the decision was taking out of his hands?
You're just making stuff up.}
