Just saw a pic (if legit) of all 3 tops for the new season, with Ajer, McGregor and Forrest modelling them. Away jersey appears to be white with the stripes, logos and a v-neck all in green. Ths bhoys will look resplendent for ten-in-a-row.

{Ed007's Note - I think it's more a limey green colour, Pedro like the '86 (Love Street) top......

27 Jun 2020 22:57:42
It is ed like the look of all 3 mate.

{Ed007's Note - The black one could go down as one of our best strips ever imo - I'll need to be saving up my pennies for that.}

Ed do you know the situation regarding Bayo at the club. Is Lenny happy to have him as the fourth striker or could we see him going out on loan somewhere. I must admit the kid doesn't do it for. I don't really think he suits our style of football and have not been too impressed albeit he's not played a lot of games. If Lenny sticks with two up front I would like to see someone else come in maybe on loan or on a bosman.

{Ed007's Note - I don't think Bayo has much of a future at Celtic the way things stand. If there was the chance of a permanent move (with a fee involved) I don't see the Club standing in his way but it seems more likely that a loan will be arranged soon.}

Huge difference between Celtic supporters celebrating the title and those down in Liverpool, considering current restrictions.
Obviously they have had to wait a long, long time for the title and that may have been a factor, but public disorder, vandalism and violence is no way to celebrate.
I also see SLY put together a tribute video less than 24 hours after the EPL was decided, while we still have had no recognition or appreciation for our nine-in-a-row.
I know they may not have covered most of our games, but some sort of respect should have been given, or maybe they didn't want to upset Jim Whyte and the rest of the Sevco sympathisers on their payroll and the 'blue pound' subscribers?

I can remember when Slippy first lined up as manager of Sevco against Celtic, Sly gave the game a one hour pre match coverage with Ntcham scoring the only goal.
Roll on 18 months and Celtic had the chance to clinch the title against Sevco in our 5-0 hammering and yet Sly only gave the game a 15 minute pre match coverage.
The worst thing was Sly getting a 5 year contract in front of the respectable BT.

It's always been the same with any old firm win against that bitter mob, any league title or cup win we have won.

Scott Brown put at stop to sly sports reporter during a post match interview after we played them off the park a few seasons ago.

One that is fresh in our memories is last season league cup final. We never had a striker starting nevermind our first team starting 11. That mob were all over us untill big eddy came on the park and the tables turned, we were unstoppable and unlucky mikey Johnson never added a second. But never a mention of that.

Also in light of recent financial impact of C.V. on SPFL clubs, I would not be surprised if there is another vote to set up SPFL tv channel/ live streaming channel. The old firm international licensing revenue generated would enhance Scottish game and eliminate any penalties imposed by likes of sly.

How are you doing my friends?

Enrico wanted to know what is the thoughts of fellow fans on Joe Hart? I would love to sign big Foster up but I worry he will mover to another premiership club down south.

Also what are the thoughts on Ryan Frazer or el younoussi? Or maybe bring in both of them? I don't know

Will Bayo be shipped out somewhere and another striker brought in? If we are going with the 2 up top again then we will need more cover. French Eddy and Griff are the main men but enrico hopes young polish lad can show us why he was bought.

I hope you have a great weekend my friends and now enrico is a way to open bottle of grape juice 🍷.

Hey Enrico, there seems to be a lot of talk around Joe Hart. Like you, as I mentioned last week, I'd like big FF to sign but we can't afford not to have a Plan B if he goes elsewhere. I don't see us signing Ryan Fraser due to wages but EL Younoussi would be great and yet many online sites are talking up Paddy Roberts? It could be make or break for Bayo and I think Klimala could do a job for us with a good pre season under his belt. It's crazy season so we'll just need to wait and see. Enjoy your vino, Ciao.

What are everyone's opinions of these closed door games. I cannot get interested and when they pump fake crowd noises which have no bearing on the game I just refuse to watch, it is so fekin amateurish.
I even told Mrs T NOT to record match of the day or any other English championship games.
I hope it will be different when Celtic get involved, but I doubt it.

The crowd noise in the bundesliga is pretty good, it reflects what's happening in the game, ie noise building up when there's an attack, jeering and whistling for a bad tackle or dodgy decision. EPL crowd noise is rubbish though.

You can watch without the crowd noise.

I’ve watched one half of a match ( spurs v Man Utd) and just couldn’t get into it, can’t wait to have fans back in the stadiums, it really is nothing without fans 👍.

Did anyone else completely forget we've got Patrick Klimala? I have serious doubts if either him or Bayo will make it at Celtic. Ed do you have any idea how he's settling in and if he's doing anything to stand out in training?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - According to Callum McGregor yesterday, Klimala has bulked up during lockdown and came back for preseason looking a lot stronger and he is raring to go.}

27 Jun 2020 10:51:33
Seen a pic of him at lennoxtown, looks like he's been hitting the roids on lockdown 😂.

27 Jun 2020 10:54:05
Cheers Ed hopefully he'll prove me wrong.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There's more chance of Klimala doing us a turn than Bayo who appears to be a complete dud.}

27 Jun 2020 11:10:16
Bayo looks like another Amido Balde and should be loaned-out or punted to make way for quality. Klimala and especially Soro have still to show what they can do, but half a year of their contract has already been written off and that wasn't good business IMO.
Hopefully both, after a good pre-season and settling in period will get a chance to break through?

In the fleeting games he appeared I actually thought he looked ok, tried to link up the play . It can’t have been east for him at 20 to come to a big club, possibly not speaking the language etc. The fact that he’s bulked up shows that he is keen to do well as he probably noticed it’s physical football in Scotland . I’m hoping he might turn out ok if we give him a chance.

Apparently Elyounoussi is going out on loan again and it's between us and Real Betis.

You'd hope would want to spend another season with us and show what he's got, but couldn't argue if he chose Spanish league with next permanent move in mind.

Is there any reason Southampton don't want him in their squad? They paid something like £16m for him so why not play him?

Think when a manager comes in he has his own ideas/ preferences and some players (like FF and ME) faces don't fit and fall of favour.
There will be several EPL clubs with surplus players, who are on very high wages, who can't get a game (including young players) who, although out of our price range - may be loan options if permanent signings can't be finalized; FF and Elyounnoussi worked last season.

Evening All,

Celtic have an alleged top wage bracket of around £40k per week.

Let's say for talking sake we wanted to sign a player like Ryan Fraser who is a free agent. It's clear he is worth more than £5M in today's market. If we offered him a basic salary of £40k per week would we also be able to offer him a lump sum of £5M, paid either at the end of a contract or paid over the term of his contract or as an upfront fee? Going by my math £5M over a 4 year deal would equate to around £24k per week.

Would something like this be allowed or am I over complicating things and would he just be offered £64k per week contract?

Or would it be totally pointless as a team in the English premier league would offer him £64k per week or more plus a massive signing on fee/ bonus fee as well and we would be blown out the water completely?

All hypothtical in terms of the player and the figures mentioned there. Just a thought based on the fact if it's a free agent who clearly has market value can we push the boat out in other ways to sign them whilst maintaining a salary cap to save all players wanting £60+k per week deals.

I've no idea how these things work. Any insight is appreciated.

Why don't we stop paying these obscene wages.

Because if we paid rubbish wages we'd have a rubbish team.
