Ed do you have any insight into our interest in Hickey? The boy clearly has potential. Paddy Bonner was saying before the game today that we have been asked to be kept informed of the transfer situation. Do you think we have other targets higher on our list?

{Ed007's Note - We've definitely got a strong interest in Hickey but with Taylor and Bolingoli here there's no clear route for him to get any first team action and for the lad's own career he needs to be playing every week.
Personally I'd put forward a deal that would see him signing for us and staying at Hearts for 2 years but I think there's a chance he will move elsewhere this summer but again it will come down to game time, all these big, rich clubs that are supposedly in for him but at what level will he be playing at for them?}

Surely Bolingoli isn't going to interfere with any game time and Hickey should be able to see he only has Taylor to compete with? I know we still need to get him off the books. I would hope we wouldn't let another young talent slip through our grasp. 1.5M is what Hearts are looking for apparently. Could be another Robertson situation all over again.

If it was about game time, he would stay at Hearts, but it's all about money, Bayern will probably pay him a lot more to play for their development team than Celtic will pay him to go on loan back to Hearts, in the end it will all come down to what the young guy thinks is more important, finance or football.

Apparently Bayern are willing to make him their highest paid development player Aindoh. There really should be something done to prevent the way teams like chelsea, Man city and Bayern are snapping up so much young talent. The governing body should really be managing this situation.

Maybe I've just caught him at the wrong times but I've never watched Hickey and thought he's a guy I'd like Celtic to sign. I'm not in the hype-train atm.

My pre game perfect prediction for today would be for Celtic to score mega goals and for Scott Martin to score for Hamilton.
A good Glasgow Celtic daft Bhoy who was living the dream today but I know he wished he was scoring for the Champions.
I once asked Neil Lennon about him when he was manager of Hibs ( Martin was at Hibs ) and he said he was a talent and a good Bhoy.

Performance wise, I actually thought we were a bit pedestrian, particularly the first half. Taylor, who I've been critical of was good going forward and deserved a couple of assists. Frimpong just as good on the other side. Edouard, according to McAvennie (who as much is a sound lad whenever I've met him has been p*ssed) doesn'tlook interested, top marks for me. Showed real strikers instinct and desire today. Forrest upped his game 2nd half. Disappointed with Mo, because I had him to score on my coupon. But on the whole that's a good start, to think we weren't in top gear it's really encouraging. Top of the league. Hopefully we shall not be moved.

I thought our intensity was brilliant from the first whistle and Celtic managed to get 4 corners in the first 12 minutes.
After watching behind closed door games all summer, I felt we played at the same tempo as if there were fans at the game. Which is a big plus going forward.
That’s 2 competitive games in a row Celtic have scored 5 goals. ( 5 V St. Mirren )
It was a perfect start for the Champions.

Might be a blessing playing with no crowd as there isn't the means and groans when a cross is over hit etc. I thought with 5 subs available there might have been more of a role for the guys on the bench.

I just seen our stats there for the last 4years of domestic games. Celtic have as many trophies (11) as defeats over 178 games. that's some record. Its been easier since that mob got promoted to the top tier for us to win Trebles.

With Pedro so obviously in charge of both the SFA and the SPFL can he change the rules on loan players.
Specifically big Bayo loan him out on a WEEKLY basis to whichever team Sevco are playing and tell him if scores in EVERY game against them and proves his worth to us, Celtic will give him a new 20 year contract at five times his current salary.

Got £25m for KT. Good strikers at that price are like hen's teeth. I'd be looking around £30m given the league he's in and his potential. He's playing in the SPFL as if he was playing in his home backyard. As well as what he's done it's his age and potential you want the big bucks for.

I hope the Board realize how much of an absolute bargain, Arsenal got with KT and a fully fit Tierney could walk into any top class side and be valued at 2-3 times the £25m.
It happened with Wanyama and VVD where Southampton made huge profits on our ex-players sold-on and we need to protect our own interests.

ninja no chance 25 mill why would we sell for 25 mill then soon as he scores a few goals they start quoting him at 50 60 70 mill for me its 35 mill he has everything in his game. look at KT he has played a hand full of games and there saying 25 mill is a steal KT was that player before he left us now if arsenal were to sell they would want at least 50 so really we had a 50 mill player on our hands and we let him go for 25.

Celtic could get £30 million just now because he still has 2 years left on his contract.
His value will drop after this transfer window.
His value will continue to drop the longer he goes without signing a contract extension.

He cost 9million and no doubt PSG have a sell on fee so the board will be looking for a huge amount. I just hope he signs a new contract asap and is here for 10 in a row.
