I'm sure I read that Celtic are returning to Celtic Park after the cup final if we win the treble treble. Surely with the rugby final kicking off at 6-30 that won't be possible, I may be wrong, but I'm sure I did read it somewhere. oldkilly.

Open top bus parade but will not be near the stadium. Plenty info online about the route. Past Gorbals into Candleriggs about half 6.

Give them a wave and jump round to Connolly's for a swally.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 May 2019 22:56:22
Sure the bus would finish at the gallowgate.

Maybe sunday or monday mate but not saturday.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 23:15:06
The team and staff maybe but absolutely no fans to go near Celtic park.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2019 04:11:33
If we win, the parade will be on Saturday. They will leave Hampden at 6.15 and travel through the gallowgate, stopping on a street, up the road from the gallowgate.

Is anyone else worried that all the uncertainty over the manager's job could hinder the team tomorrow, as it must be a major distraction, trying to prepare for a cup final.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

24 May 2019 21:34:05
I doubt whether the players are as distracted about it to the same degree as some fans, many of whom are wetting their panties and behaving like children. Some of them need to grow the feck up and calm down. HH.

Agree4 Disagree0

24 May 2019 21:44:09
I'm more worried that we'll just not play well and lose a big game domestically. The club have stated Lenny is here till season ends only then will a decision be made. It's fans and media who are not concentrating on Saturday as too many are more concerned with wanting to say I guessed the manager or I know someone who knows someone who.
Roll on 3pm sat and hail hail.

Any thoughts on paradise being used for a rugby final, appreciate it's a revenue stream but is the pitch up to it, what's the recovery time before qualifiers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 May 2019 18:35:36
They can re-lay a normal pitch in a couple of weeks tops, so I think it'll be fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 18:49:11
It will have all summer to recover, and I think the hybrid pitch is meant to be more durable. How much does the club actually make from hosting such an event, does anyone know?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 20:05:45
Hopefully enough to buy a new one!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 21:20:34
Ed, do you know how much Celtic will receive from hosting the final? I imagine they will get the usual from food/ drinks sold at the kiosks etc but was wondering if the pro14 paid anything.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I read somewhere the other day that we'd make £2 million but I'm not too sure how accurate that is, I'd have thought it would have been more. Just imagine if someone at the Club had the foresight to built a hotel close by..... 😏

25 May 2019 07:16:13
As long as the pitch has chance to recover we should be using Celtic Park for as many Sporting events and concerts as possible. It's revenue, it's putting Celtic Park on the map as a top stadium to people who might not otherwise go and it's good for the local economy (hotels included) .

hard to workout the way our Celtic board will go. Nothing ever comes out early they say nothing that's why i kind of try to ignore the gossip as we don't know nothing as Celtic keep secrets at bay {ex Rodgers} our board won't moan or slag him off but they new he was leaving giving us a 9,000.000. gift let's be honest her they took a risk and it worked out, as the main thing was winning the league with lennon it could have went belly up but the stars are on our side.
Remember we still have budgets and large wages bills. hope we get our business done before we go off season training to groom new guys in. i want home grown talent its there but they need to step up a level which celts management will show them.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

24 May 2019 14:12:16
what a lot of tosh the report coming in from a German news paper claiming Celtic have been in talks with a German manager because the guy refuses to talk about it. Pish these guys should be sacked for pish they write haha.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

24 May 2019 16:11:41
Seems just as credible as any of the other links to be fair.

If there were to be any truth in it, I would guess this guy would be a coach and would work with a DoF.

Everyone’s expecting the announcement on Monday after the final, wouldn’t surprise me if the board genuinely still don’t know who the manager will be.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 May 2019 13:53:47
O'Donnell from Killie would do a job for us at Celtic Park next season.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Cleaning the steps, McDonnell couldn't do job for first team.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 May 2019 14:35:30
ODonnell was found out playing for Scotland, he isn't good enough to be our first choice at the moment but if he was cheap, he would be a good back up. He could get better with experience.

Hi everyone, new to this page!

Would just like to see if you guys have any knowledge of any possible transfer targets for next season, I know this ultimately depends on who is the manager etc but one player who has really stood out this season is robert skov of Copenhagen.
26 goals and 6 assists from right wing, uncapped for Denmark and reports suggests he would be available for a fee around 6m.
I know it's all heresay but surely one we could look at considering the form of sinclair this season and we could do with a quality playmaker to help Forrest out.

What you guys think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 May 2019 14:30:21
All new participants are especially welcome and I hope you have a long and happy time sharing your thoughts with us . We have a cup final to win tomorrow, i think we have enough time to speculate on every Tom, Dick and Harry after that . Let us get our treble treble won first.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 May 2019 14:34:57
Sinclair plays on the left mate so how would his form affect a right wingers chances of signing. Besides that he's consistently one of our most effective players even when he's having an off day he can still produce.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 May 2019 14:50:00
31 goals in 47 games for a right winger is unreal.

I reckon he'll go for more than £6m but he's definitely a player I would have if we could make it happen.

Forrest, Skov, Shved, Sinclair, Johnston, Arzani would excite me.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 15:14:49
Mentioned him myself GreenClover but as the squad stands right now there isn't room.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 15:41:44
Old Man Chris are you an editor for forum? You seem to think you can dictate what people post. Again if you don't like something don't read it.

Agree3 Disagree0

24 May 2019 17:31:22
I think OMC has every right to point out that we should be talking about the final and the unique piece of history we could be about to create, not speculating about new signings, new manager etc. Traynor and his minions would like to create as many distractions as possible and I agree with OMC that we should ignore all the background noise and focus on the immediate task. That’s what a professional organisation does and it increases the chances of success. I don’t think he’s dictating to anyone, merely offering wise advice.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 17:50:24
Chris what's your thoughts for tomorrow then?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 17:55:54
Well said philtim88.

Old man Chris telling people not to speculate or talk about transfers/ new manager at 2.30pm but commented about O'Donnell being linked half an hour earlier.

It's a rumours site. People should be free to talk about what they want Celtic related.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 18:56:21
COYBIG no he has no right telling people what to post. Every individual is entitled to post what they wish as long as it's above board.

It's not wise advice as you say, there is a lot going on at club at the moment and we have every right to be concerned.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 May 2019 19:21:47

Agree1 Disagree0

24 May 2019 21:08:18
Almost new poster (posted once last year in an exuberant Rogic v Sinclair debate) .
Love the bickering about what should be posted and what should not.
Re new manager, would love it if it was Lampard 😂. Lampard v Gerrard, the eyes of the world would be on us I think.
In reality however, it will no doubt be Lenny, and going by his interview today, looks as if he would love to put his own stamp on the team and revitalise it.
Wishing Lenny and the Bhoys good luck tomorrow.

Really hope we get announcement next week so that we have things in place to get new players in and move players on. Will be a busy summer.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

24 May 2019 14:06:54
I think there will have to be an announcement next week Philtim88. Pre-season will begin in 2-3 weeks time with the CL qualifiers soon after. Not to mention the comings and going’s of the playing squad. There’s no way the board can afford to drag their heels on this and I’m confident they won’t.

Folks, can we put all the managerial talk to one side and let's focus on the CF for now.
l am in my 50's and could never have dreamed of our recent success, to see us win 8IAR and to go for an unprecedented triple treble is a once in a lifetime chance to see something very special, the stars are aligned for the 25th May again, let's remember and celebrate the lives of two of our recently passed legends and enjoy our moment in sun.

Totally agree. These are heady times indeed. I too am at the wrong side of 50 and can remember quite a few dark days and lean times for our club. Success breeds success, but this current crop of players have been tremendous over the last three years. Let's enjoy our current dominance, long may it continue. For those going to the game tomorrow, be safe. HH.

Who is everyone's ideal choice of manager from names we have been linked with?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 May 2019 05:46:23
Rafa would be brilliant but unrealistic Moyes name is not going away Lennon's Job to loose u would’ve thought with him doing the Job. But knowing Celtic there could be another DR Jo out there. Listening to pundits and others I am very surprised Lennon not been named by now leads me to believe that Celtic do have there man but out of respect for Lennon are not going announce it to let him finish the job without any extra pressure put on him and the players who have already had one manager leave. But for me it might be a combination between Lennon and Moyes?

Agree1 Disagree0

24 May 2019 06:07:16
philtim88 who would u have bookies have Rafa Moyes as the two front runners with Lennon there about.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 07:14:27
Obviously I would love a rafa or jose but I just can't see it.
Someone I have mentioned a few time is Phillip cocu who ticks a lot of boxes for me but I've heard more than once that it's moyes DOF and Lennon head coach.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 08:25:36
I'm surprised Wenger hasn't attracted speculation at this point. I think he would enjoy working at Celtic and get the best out of the team. Ranieri too. I'm pretty ignorant about most of the names being touted to be honest but find myself hoping that Rafa is the one.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 08:44:04
Rich heres the thing with bookies. They want your money. The fluctuation in odds on say, Rafa, gets people excited and gets them betting. So the bookies have an idea Rafa is the next Celtic manager and at the same time want to give away their money on it? Doubt it. Case in point - seriously do this - go and have a look at what the bookies are offering for Rafa as the next Newcastle manager.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 May 2019 09:24:35
Lots of people on here saying they would love it to be Rafa, his stats for last season are, wins 40% drawn 20% lost 40%, not great.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 21:56:30
I know it's probably unlikely that it will be Rafa but just a thought.
Ashley could give him say £250 million plus to spend (which he won't) and Newcastle would still struggle to make a European place.
If (and a big if, ) he took Celtic job, he would be back in the Champions League, he is never doing that with Newcastle.
How much would he need money wise from Lawwell to win SPL (£15million? )
If it wasn't for the fact we need some better quality players after the last two botched Windows, he would probably get by on about £8 million.
Very surprised that he could stay in Geordie land, as he is a quality manager and surely would want Champions League action again.
Any other opinions?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2019 12:18:32
Cavalcanti i think Wenger would be a great choice for DOF if that is the route we are going down. Always thought Arsenal were using a similar model to ourselves albeit on a bigger scale but for a good few years now they have been buying relatively unknows with the view to making them stars. I say unknows but what i mean is they were taking in youngsters deemed as projects rather than going out and buying the tried and tested like your Chelsea Man Utd etc. I think his experience of this model would be ideal for Celtic and i don't think he would be keen to come back in to Management but he would also be a great man for our Manager to get advice from if and when needed. If we are defintely going for a DOF and Coach we will need to use every penny of the Leicester cash to entice 2 people highly regarded.

Stevie, id like to point out that Rodgers won nothing before he came to Celtic, fair enough he ran close to winning the premier league, but he didn’t. Moyes is NOT my first choice either, but if the board chose him to be the man to lead this great club then i’ll sure as he’ll be 100% behind him. Davie Moyes had a good record at Everton, he done not too bad with West Ham either. Moyes is as good a manager as we will get!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

24 May 2019 08:03:08
Moyes is a nice enough guy but middle of the road manager.
He was given enough resources at Everton and West Ham to keep that place but never really challenged.
Personally, I think he would not be a good move for us.
Can't see Rafa coming here (good manager though)
Is Lennon the man for us? He did well last time around and his CL record gave us some good nights. Maybe given a bit more funding and support by the board?
It will be interesting, for sure, to see who gets it.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2019 08:14:44
Moyes is as good a manager as we will get? Jeezo God help us. No premiership team in England will touch him, no Championship clubs want him, no club in Europe are interested after his pathetic effort at Socieded, so he decides to whore himself around Scotland to try get work. Like I said my biggest problem with him is when he had his chance before he knocked us back. Get him to f***.
