Ed I seen you joked about PL having a surprise for us at city, do you think we might raid there academy again?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know why Lawwell and either Michael Nicholson or Chris McKay who's said to be in the picture with him would need to travel down to sort out a loan deal.}

21 Aug 2017 23:18:43
Imagine we pulled off signing Jadon Sancho, one can only dream! Have u heard of any other city players we could be interested in? do they have a CF we could be looking at?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Is that the young lad all the English team's are chasing? He's looking for the best chance of playing regularly and Dembele and Ntcham are prime examples that we can give youngsters that. I don't know much about City's reserves and academy so I've no idea of any players we could be interested in from there.}

21 Aug 2017 23:39:41
Late hope of Paddy coming permanently then Ed or is that wishful thinking? Either that or they have just arranged "important business in Manchester" to get out of a trip to Astana!

Maybe both down there to tie up a 2 for 1 deal - loan Paddy Roberts and get a free Wilfried Bony!

With Rivaldo and Paddy coming in, do you think another striker will be the only other possible incoming? Any names?

I think International duty will force teams to do business earlier than deadline day this year. Hard to sign a player at short notice if he is on the other side of the continent/ world! I think we'll be done and dusted by this time next week.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd like to think they're trying to get Roberts and City to agree to a permanent deal, we can live in hope. I'm surprised the Club haven't released any statement about Coetzee, everywhere's reporting it's a done deal but seemingly it's only a fee that's been agreed. It's only been a few days since Rodgers has decided to look at a striker and I've not heard anything.}

22 Aug 2017 07:04:33
I seen a list of transfers that were agreed yesterday on some database site and Paddy from City to Celtic was on it - loan deal only. Hope its just jumped the gun.

I'm sure we announced Kouassi before a WP was granted but we had agreed terms with him, maybe waiting til terms are agreed to announce Rivaldo.

I seem to remember us pulling the plug on a deal in the past where the selling club said it was done before it was. Omer Demari I think it was. Hope that doesn't happen this time. I like the look of the bhoy.

this morning is the Paddy deal is off PL flew down because Man City are now pushing for a swap deal. Their squad for ours.

Maybe City want to give us £40m and Aguero for Lee Griffiths?

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Aug 2017 09:51:17
40m and Aguero for Griff? I don't think I'd accept that if it were up to me! lol HH.

22 Aug 2017 11:49:47
Yeah he's a winger and everybody and their dog want him, he's very highly rated and spurs arsenal and Man U are looking to grab him, we would be and excellent club for him to develop but he might be out of our price range as he's more valued than Robert.

22 Aug 2017 01:17:22
A tell you something Ed, STUNNED that Hibs got Brandon Barker from City mate not knocking PR but that lad has the lot, low centre of gravity and can score from the tightest of wide angles and pacey as hell! he was the star of there academy IMO.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yeah I remember Ronny was interested in bringing Barker up here and a couple of the English Eds raved about him at the time.}

21 Aug 2017 21:54:45
Rooney celebrating tonight cupping his ears after scoring tonight.
I wonder how many complaints to the local constabulary there will be about that 🚨😂🤣.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2017 22:21:28
I thought exactly the same thing!
I also wonder if this appallingly offensive gesture will upset the currants, either through the action itself or stirring up such harrowing memories.

Agree3 Disagree0

21 Aug 2017 22:54:36
Rooney's a self confessed Tim, I wouldn't put it past him that it was a gesture in support for NL 😜🍀.

Agree2 Disagree1

22 Aug 2017 00:44:23
If I had a set of lugs like Rooney, I'm not sure I would want to draw attention to them.

Looks like Pug from the Beano.

Evening all,
Just watching the Man City v Everton game. As anyone else noticed how poor the atmosphere is?
And this is meant to be the best league in the world.

21 Aug 2017 21:40:49
Just said the same thing mate! Don't usually bother watchn the EPL but decided to watch the 2nd half! To say I'm not impressed is an understatement! over hyped Shoite!

Listening to Snide1 on way to work tonight and they are running old firm superfan quiz. you answer as many questions as you can in a row your out as soon as you get one wrong. Prize tickets for Champions vs Chumpions. My question to the Rangers fans is it your to frightened to watch your team being humbled again or is it you are just as thick as we always thought. question who was the manager who won the treble in 2003 with Rangers. Answers varied from Walter Xxxx or ehhh ahhh ummmm> tomorrows edition shall include questions from the Janet and John book of numpties with a scarf.

I see Peter Lawwell is sitting in front on Mourinho at the game tonight. Is that him down finalising the Roberts deal.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2017 20:34:49
Anyone else notice who is sitting in front of mourhino at the man city game?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2017 21:47:55
Scott PL's boy is a boss down there like in the commercial side of things I think. I think it is why we always get a city player.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Mark Lawwell is City's Scouting and Recruitment Manager like Lee Congerton is for us.}

21 Aug 2017 22:45:07
Yeah I remember you saying that before Ed never really knew his exact post, but I remember reading somewhere that, that is how we got biton because he trialled at City?

Can't do us any harm to have a common denominator like that surely? (Y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It hasn't done is any harm in the past, Guidetti, Denayer, Roberts and Boyata.}

22 Aug 2017 13:59:17
just a thought, do you think we could be bringing denayer back too?

In keeping with current club policy it is rumoured that Celtic are about to sign Rivaldo Coetzee aged 20 an up and coming centre half.
Meanwhile also keeping with their recent club policy Sevco are in negotiations to sign the Brazilian player Rivaldo aged 50 an old has been, but at least he speaks pedro's language.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2017 20:03:51
Is this boy any good?
I've never heard of him.
But mind you, I'd never heard of Naka, lubo, big vic, or even the king.

Sorry just wanted to say my cousin and his family are going home tomorrow and as well as all the Scottish shortbread, tablet and fudge etc they are also taking home to Boston the new Celtic home and away tops and some Celtic scarves "for his neighbours" He has become a "Celtic phobe" again totally immersed in the club.
Also wanted to say, shame on The Suit, who totally blanked my cousin, oh well he will be hiding in ever more remote places when we pick up our £30m+
PS they also wanted to take home some dumplings but Pedro said NO.

21 Aug 2017 20:18:08
Tim : Safe trip home to all them, the scarfs will keep them warm during the flight.

HH and God Bless.

Never thought i would agree with leckie of the *** but he is on the money today.

After beating Thistle i was positive the chants would be pointed out, and you know what its right. That night a section, large by the way, were way out of hand with the IRA stuff. We behaved like the bigots we claim we are better than across the city.

Kilmarnock sadly was not much better. What are these guys, or if your reading please explain, trying to prove? Celtic Park looks fantastic. We have a proper manager and a crop of young players who might emulate the quality street kids (ask yer da! ) and we are leaping forward at a great rate.

As a club we have more songs than any other i know, even a sneaky discreet few rebel songs, why not stick to that? Every Celtic fan knows these people salivate at the prospect of this stuff, so don't give them it.

Believable10 Unbelievable4

21 Aug 2017 18:52:10
I agree with you. It does nothing but harm to our image. We have loads of great songs and there are plenty of streets to march on for political issues.

I know this is wishful thinking but I wish we would put them to bed,

Agree5 Disagree3

21 Aug 2017 18:53:56
Morons at all clubs will ruin it for others.

Behind closed doors is the place for this stuff, if that's your cup of tea.

Agree5 Disagree2

21 Aug 2017 19:28:24
Its defos time to put all that stuff in the bottom drawer. Its all about the football songs for me. Sure, a few can be considered folk songs and don't harbour the attention or aggression as others, and im fine with them. But the more in your face tribal stuff kinda has to go i believe.

Agree5 Disagree2

21 Aug 2017 20:49:39
It's always worse away from home with all the young team. It has no place nowadays. I rember when the bunnet banned The boys of the old brigade. Uproar! Outrageous who is this man? Hopefully it's toned down and leave the iraoke at home boys.

Afternoon Ed,

Not Celtic related and I know you don't like him really but I noticed you seem clued up in Messi's near movements in the past

Do you have any idea HIS buyout clause is?

Scunnered I was with that Neymar money on a number of fronts so presume that eclipses that with Barcelona still involved? (Y)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Messi's buyout is 300 million Euros mate.}

21 Aug 2017 20:12:54
Where is the facepalm mojo when you need it?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2017 21:08:28
He ain't signed his extension yet tho, i think that means he can talk to clubs in jan, read this last wk so dunno if there's been a change.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You're right, that's a bit of a strange one. His current buy-out's 250 million Euros then but his contract's up next summer as you say. I will be utterly amazed if the wee juiced up nyaff doesn't sign the new deal. As usual at Barca there's politics in play with people saying if Messi signs the new deal he's showing support for Bartomeu, the current president, and the way the club is being run which a lot of powerful people aren't happy about. What better way to oust the president than announce you can get Messi signed up?}

22 Aug 2017 13:51:54
just about the amount robbie's patent is worth jamie lol.

Think it's a joke ncgregor left out the Scotland squad think he has played best football of his career just to get overlooked time and time again and likes of deodorant who not getting near west ham team get picked.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2017 18:19:30
I've certainly changed my opinion of him since that miss in Germany, think he now has settled and brings more to the table than most others who were selected in that position. Snodgrass? Nope. McGinn? Nope bannan? Nope. Darren Fletcher? Nope. The wee man's head and shoulders above all the above mentioned.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2017 18:23:32
McGregor must be a better bet than Bannan at least, I know what Ed says in that he wants none if our squad in the Int team, but as it stands we are agin the main stay of our national team. Just as long as nobody gets injured

HH.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Aug 2017 13:06:46
My God - McGregor is AGAIN left out of the Scotland squad. What exactly does he have to do?
And yet he picks Hanley who just doesn't play and recalls Whittaker, who just can't bloody play. Strachan is clearly either trying to lose or just does not have a clue.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - When's Scotland playing, there isn't an international break due already is there?}

21 Aug 2017 13:45:34
1st sep ed canny wait not. but mcgregor should have been a stick on.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I wish none of our players were called up lol.}

21 Aug 2017 14:07:11
Me tae nae time for internationals and there's the injury worry to.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Exactly.}

21 Aug 2017 14:16:41
I think GS has made a huge mistake here, in my opinion Calum is one of the best players we've brought through our academy in years, and for me is an absolute delight to watch, he has the full package, John McGinn ahead of him is absolute pish, I'm sure Calum will stay focused and wait on his chance, won't be long before Scotland's starting 11 are all celtic players the way our academy graduates are progressing HH.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Aug 2017 14:28:24
My only real interest in the national team is whether our players get injured or not.

Agree2 Disagree3

21 Aug 2017 14:29:37
The thing is though, that the players want to represent their countries - and it just makes me wonder what the hell someone like Strachan is seeing to omit players like McGregor and include the likes of Hanley and Whitaker.

Agree3 Disagree1

21 Aug 2017 14:42:45
WGS is the reason Scotland never qualified for the last tournament, he should never have been given a new contract, he is like Ronnie, a slave to a system, blind to alternative formations that would suit other better players more, he left out Griffith's and Rhodes and McCormack, when they were scoring freely, but kept picking Fletcher, who was scoring heehaw, he will eventually stumble across a good team when his first picks are injured, or too old, haven't seen the pool, but read he was thinking about Whittaker, surely there must be a younger faster better full back somewhere,?, well I could name a few,

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Aug 2017 15:04:20
I'm with Davie 100%. Hate international breaks and matches and only concerned about our club and players.

Agree2 Disagree2

21 Aug 2017 16:02:11
Scotland desperately needs a new manager someone who is willing to give youth a chance and in form players a game on merit. Strachan continues to play players who have let him down in the past no wonder we don't qualify the man hasn't got a clue and the same goes for the clowns running the SFA. Scottish Football needs a massive clearout from top to bottom.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Ronny Deila for Scotland!}

21 Aug 2017 16:28:58
I'd have Deila ahead of Strapon no problem.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Aug 2017 17:50:20
I wish he'd left all the other Celtic player out as well, we have enough games to worry about without players risking injury playing internationals at the moment .
Drewzybhoy .

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2017 18:06:47
Ronnie might be available soon, right enough, he seems to be managing his latest team the same way he managed Celtic, difference being over in Norway, he is not managing the richest club with the best players, he is being found out, the same was Gordon is being with Scotland.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2017 18:42:09
Anybody but Strachan with his negative football. Anyway time to make the SFA to sit up and head. I anticipate a very very very poor turnout for next home game.
