Think we missed a trick in signing Ryan Fraser- I know wages would of been difficult to compete against Especially an epl team! but he was on a free transfer and maybe We could of made His signing on fee Like a transfer fee to compensate wages! He's ReallyBeen impressive in Scotland's games and any Times I've seen him play . Anyway 3-0 Saturday ๐Ÿ€.

Not that sure he really fancied coming to us in the first place?

He painted his subuteo team in the hoops.

15 Oct 2020 00:46:44
Been more impressed with Dykes. Really seems to have stepped up a level. Strong, physical and an eye for a goal. Runs all day as well. Could be a missed opportunity for us or Sevco.

15 Oct 2020 05:51:23
If you had the choice of Dykes or Ajeti who would you have signed?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 07:57:28
Dykes should have been red carded for a deliberate stamp on an opponent, how the ref deemed it yellow beggars belief.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 09:39:32
Tough one Marco, too early to call . gut says Albien Ajeti.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 09:43:12
Mcginn was miles ahead of everyone including Callum.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 10:25:44
Mally I don't think callum can control a midfield or be THAT guy that propels, initiates, agitated, drives. Sure he does it now and again but he's not a midfield general or box to box powerhouse. Maybe Callum and his ilk let players like McGinn stand out. on Saturday or McGinn will be ntcham it won't be callum. And callum at his best osnt the same as Brown at his best

I like callum, I genuinely do. but mcginn was a big miss, no doubt

Hopefully Turnbull will have a turbo charged season.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 11:29:53
Forrest is better and gets pelters from our own fans . are we just wanting another player to vent at.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 11:39:53
Dykes is in the mould of Fortune and Miller. Works his socks off and does a lit of work outside the box but has a poor goal return. Happy we got Ajeti instead of him.

With regards McGinn, he would not have got in the Celtic team at the time and Hibs were asking too much for a player going into the last year of his contract. At the time I was happy of the way we handled the transfer and I am not going to change my opinion now I have the benefit of hindsight.

That being said I do rate him and wish he was in our team.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 11:50:23
Imo he would have got in and he would have taken over from broony him and รงallum compliment one and other and mcginn has tgat physique needed.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 13:08:00
I agree mally

McGinn would be playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 13:35:00
No doubt McGinn's a player with turbo energy but there's one thing that puts me off him as he goes about like a headless chicken. He pops up in central midfield, left and right wings and left back and all over the place. That to me tells me that he doesn't trust the ones in those positions. If he channelled his energy into what he's supposed to do rather than what he thinks he has to do then what a player he'd be.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 18:33:24
We have soro and Turnbull to play broonys role if he is out mcginn is a decent player but I think young Turnbull will be a better player than mcginn once he gets into our team, and mcginn at the time he was leaving hibs wouldn't have gotten into our team over who we had in there.

After all the C.V. tests I have a serious doubt about Saturday. If THE rangers don't win on Saturday then they will have to seriously look at Gerrard position this is their best chance to win in a long long time they must be faves to win.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Oct 2020 13:37:22
Agree Marco if Gerrard flops then he isn't the right man to win them the league. That being said our starting 11 should be more than capable of beating them anyway even with the CV dropouts and injuries. It's just not ideal preparation as we usually seem to go into those games having to play people out of position while h has been our undoing. At least we have have the squad to cover now. Biggest concern is who plays as the ST as Griff, Eddy and Ajeti are all fitness concerns as well as a returning Jullien at CB as he could be off the pace.

Anybody interested in a free ride in a helicopter flight for 4 people after the game on Saturday?!

I'm still looking for 2 more people to join us. We leave later Saturday (October 17) from The Heliport on the Clyde, and will fly over Loch Lomond and then over to Troon for dinner and then on a yacht for supper and an overnight.

Following morning we'll have breakfast and then we'll do a flight over the Northern Irish coastline and returning to Troon for lunch. We will then fly back to the Heliport.

If interested please pm me.

Preferably someone with a helicopter and yacht, otherwise we can't go.

14 Oct 2020 12:47:13
Agreed we haven't had our troubles to seek as far as the impact the recent international games have had on our squad but that's why we have a squad.
These players should eat, train and sleep Glasgow Celtic, and for those who get called upon when there may be an injury or suspension, they should be chomping at the bit to prove their worth.
Take a draw, never! We go out there and show them what we are all about. HH.

Pedro

That's the trouble though, most don't eat train and sleep Celtic

They are happy being paid, being care free and generally faffing about because today's players care less and often see more money as possible in warmer climes without making a much bigger effort

Player power is off the charts at Celtic and we can only hope that those that are asked the question, rise up and put on a show.

14 Oct 2020 15:53:48
As a team we have won 9 in a row and are unbeaten in league cup and Scottish Cup since many of our contributors have been in Primary School, so it seems the club and management teams have been doing something right, however if we fail to win 15 SPL โ€˜s in a row there will be a clamour to sell all the players, sack the manager and get rid of the Board .
There are many clubs in Scotland who would love to have our problems.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 18:32:52
OMC, your point is valid

I was generally making the point that players today ( in their aggregate) not all pmatwrd obviously, probably care a little less about the clubs to which they are contracted

Things are more transient
Not all but a good number

The 2nd 9 is highly highly valued by me and I wouldn't be sacking the manager, the players and the board and demolishing the stadium if we lost a cup or a league.

This needs to be viewed over decades and it has been ridiculously good in terms of trophy count and unbroken league and cup run

That said I think, for whatever reason, we are a little off it in spite of results

Saturday will be tough IMVHO and that's okay, so long as we give it our all that will ALWAYS be good enough for me at least.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 22:45:40
I hear you Lubo, we, like a few of the guys on here probably sound ancient to the younger Bhoys when we talk about players 'playing for the jersey'. As you say, as long as we give 100% on Saturday and for me we're better individually and collectively. HH.

New film out called the 3 kings all about Stein shankly and Busby. yep no torn face watty or a Pedro in sight of the leg end that is fat Sally ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜….

Believable3 Unbelievable0

14 Oct 2020 15:15:29
Shankly said, "At a football club there is a Holy Trinity: The players, The manager,
The supporters. Us fans won't be there but the manager and players can do it for the whole Celtic Family๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ€.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 18:35:24
Let us hope so pud

I don't know the answer
No one does

But are we as hungry? Unanswerable I guess but the performance rarely lies

The evidence is in the 50/ 50s and 2md balls and asking questions of the oppositions when in possession, ie trying to make something happen

Let's see.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 10:38:25
So overall we only have these "minor"
problems to overcome for Saturday's game
Our players who have tested positive
Our players who have to isolate
Our players who are injured
Our players who have not played many games
Our players who are out of form
Our players who will be tired after their travels all around europe
Our manager will have little time to prepare team
Our disadvantage with no fans
Our disadvantage with a biased referee in charge

See nothing to worry about hoys/ ghirls.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

14 Oct 2020 11:21:58
The big leveller for me is no fans but still think we have enough even with all those missing.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 11:22:41
Tim mate, our great club was built on the fact we over come all that is thrown in front of us. Yes you point out a lot of facts that would impede a lot of clubs, but we are the great glasgow celtic and we will overcome and put that manky mob back in their box on saturday and shut them up. hail hail to the ten.

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Oct 2020 11:25:49
I'd settle right now for a boring draw. HH.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 Oct 2020 13:38:40
Bhoys

We do have players out and the internationals have definitely not helped but out of all the C.V. I think only Christie would have started the game. He is our biggest loss.

We still have enough to see off that mob.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 14:17:58
Although I think El Hamed would have started; I agree (as long as we have no more call-offs) , we should still have a decent team.
Forrest will be a big miss, as will Eddy, if he can't play, but this is what I think NL might be cautious; along the lines of :-
Barkas
Ajer Duffy Jullien Taylor
Frimpong Brown Cal-Mac Ntcham Elyounnoussi
Eddy or Griff?

Although I would prefer:-
Barkas
Ajer Duffy Jullien
Frimpong Brown Cal-Mac Rogic Laxalt
Eddy/ Griff Ajeti.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 14:48:02
Forrest has only ever had about 2 decent games against them he doesn't have the heart for these games so don't think we will miss him that much.

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 15:12:08
Agreed.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 15:31:18
Accept he probably should have a better record against them and can drift in and out, but he has scored in two previous meetings at Celtic Park since 2018.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 16:06:36
What a load of rubbish. In forrest last 10 games against them he has been directedly involved in 7 goals, scoring twice and assisting 5. If anyone thinks he's not a miss for this game they are sniffing glue.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 18:36:27
That makes me a glue sniffer then

And proud to be one.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Oct 2020 18:52:42
I wouldn't have forrest starting even if he was fit. Jumps out off every tackle and is worse than a man down in these games. I admit his stats for the past 10 have suprised me because when you watch the games he is hardly involved.
