I could be wrong here but despite last night's result, I'm not convinced we'll sign Toney, as PhilTim commented Mr Lawwell doesn't like his business being conducted through the press and Barry Fry seems intent on starting a bidding war. I think the Swiss lad on loan is an option but I'd also like to see another striker come in with some height but preferably one who's closer to 25 than 35. Time will tell.

I think PL will be going all in on Fletcher unless eddy is sold then we may buy a younger striker.

The player holds the power. If he wants to go to Celtic and we want him then Petersborough will accept an offer rather than risk losing him for peanuts in January when we can sign him on a pre contract.

My gut feeling is he'll be too pricey for us unless god forbid eddy goes bit like sevco selling the coo.

Signing Toney would suggest a precautionary move for Eddy and as it seems we are being priced-out of the deal, then we need to ensure big Oddsoaks stays for another season and even bring in Boyle or Fletcher as squad players to cover.
However, our priority must be adding a wing-back and centre back as those are positions where we are vulnerable and short of quality.

West ham boy will be in after he's had his holiday. Celtic won't be held to ransom for Toney.

Maybe Tony has told Fry that he is joining us either now or he will sign a pre contract in Jan maybe that's why Fry is pushing us hard to sign him now.
