A little rusty which was expected in our first competitive game of the new season.
Scales was easily the Man Of The Match and totally justified his starting selection.
Hibs are ahead of Celtic on goals scored.
It's the first time since 2021 that Celtic haven't been top of the league after the opening match of the season.

Celtic were also top of the league in 2019 and 2020 after the opening match after beating St. Johnstone 7-0 and Hamilton 5-1.
That Hearts injury time defeat in 2021 is the only exception from making it 6 seasons in a row.
It was mentioned In commentary that Celtic have now won something like 18 opening day games from our last 19 seasons, with that Hearts defeat being the only exception.

I'm happy with Yang as back up but he should not be first choice.

Totally agree with Scales being mom Buzz. He never put a foot wrong. Yang and Idah were ineffective but there were a few off it today. Nygren and Hatate were way off it and our general play was lacking any urgency until Forrest came on. It's going to be a long hard season if that is the style of play we are aspiring to ??♂️.

As first competitive game of season I thought we did ok against a very fit and well drilled outfit. Back four and Trusty when he came were solid. Midfield not quite gelling today, our press wasn’t up to our usual standards, and they had huge slices of luck. I thought big Idah done ok, a bit unlucky but if he had a better first touch he would be much more effective.
Yang won’t get many more chances to show what he do for us, he has had more than many others got.

Agree with a lot of the points.
We laboured that - although credit to the Buddies they defended well - not much else tho.
Scales was good and deserved man of the match.
Enjoyed seeing Tierney back doing what he does.
Yang needs to hit the byline more but TBH probably he’s back up at best.
Nygren thought was good for a first game and hopefully grow into it.

IMO, I'd like to see (or not) ;-
* Yang - sent out on loan
* Forrest - unused
* Scales - getting warmed up, from the bench
* Kasper - replaced at some point between now and Christmas
* IMO - We need to sign at least 3 FIRST TEAM players in this window in order to progress - at least. Not squad players, STARTERS

Yang has been around long enough, I cannot see any benefit sending him out on loan . Yang like Forrest is a good back up last 30mins player . Neither should be starters but both can ve our most dangerous last 30 mins players.
