Reports linking us to the Chelsea duo of Carney Chukwuemeka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Now it's great being linked to these players but another thing to actually getting them into the club. One hurdle is are these types of players happy to sit on the sidelines and pick up their mega bucks wages or do they want to showcase their talents at a great club and also on a European stage.
We wait with bated breath but these are the sort of players we should be targeting.

So Brendan has shot down suggestions that we are in for Fraser and Podence. Thank goodness for that. I don't think at any point during this transfer window has the MSM been on point over who Celtic are going for until right at the end of negotiations. Long may it continue ?.

We still have a couple of weeks left of the transfer window.
I reckon the most Celtic have spent on wages with our new 7 signings is about £12K per week.
It’s looking like our recruitment team, are praying our projects will stand up to be counted.

Rodgers said he’s working with the players he’s been given, so has no say in them whatsoever then, the Fraser rumours are way off, whoever put them on rumours, he knows nothing, it’s seems a very strange way of managing he’s signed up for, in the recruitment team we trust.

He didn't say he has no say in them whatsoever, he said he had a role the type of player and who suited his system and the scouting network had lists of players they had scouted over the last years/ months and we can then go straight after a player if someone leaves.
This is the way it should be at big clubs because we can then lose a manager/ coach without it disruping the whole club.
ED, you are correct in regards to what BR said about Fraser and Podence.
He was asked “There’s been speculation surrounding Daniel Podence at Wolves, is there anything to bring us up to speed on that?
And he answered No.
I took that as he had No update on the players, he never said we weren't interested in the players.

JB, absolutely correct on both counts, he just said he had nothing to say, not we are not interested.
He is part of a team around recruitment, he will advise on the type of player that suits his style of play and our team will identify players. He may have a say in who we ultimately make offers for but he doesn't need to, he will have trust in the people like baby L. That's how it should work and provide longevity even when a Manager leaves.

Guys BR said yesterday that he had not heard of any the players we are being linked with, so I am not hanging on any names put out there in he click bait sites and will wait until club puts seomething out, otherwise it just feeds these nonsense sites. As for the game, it was a friendly and a warm up for us, so again not excited by it, however we are all aware that we need to strengthen our defence as we cannot cover AJ and CCV when they are out. What I will say is it isn't easy being in the bench for nearly all season and then being thrown into a competitive game, no matter how fit you are, game time is important for players. I would spend heavily on an experienced defender and goalkeeper as we have sufficient cover elsewhere. We will need experience in defence in Europe.

Dc7591 . Spot on, no matter how disappointed we are, no matter how pathetic the team was today, there is no point in making a show of ourselves complaining about the match . If we are not satisfied and happy enough with our team’s performance this season, then there is no point in supporting Celtic, as we won’t improve much .
Are we becoming over complacent with our form, people faulting Brendan Rodgers on tactics, team selection and use of substitutes, need to remember so many years with no trophies, now we aren’t content with winning SPL we are always winning doubles and often trebles and we have fans ridiculing players and even managers .
Have we missed super players and have we really elite managers watching our games as so many are better than our players and BR.

There is still a lot of football to be played this season. We have a two legged Champions League game against Bayern Munich coming up as well as going for a domestic treble. To come out of this transfer window weaker and without replacing Kyogo, is criminal. I've read that Ings and Schlupp could be last minute deals. If that is correct we have completely lost the plot ?.

I have no problems taking on a couple of promising young players that we can either develop for ourselves or to sell later for profit. What we need right now are players that can compete at a certain level now. That hasn't happened yet but it needs to. We can't gamble that we have enough to qualify for the Champions League proper before spending money on those type of players.

I know your tongue was firmly in your cheek Ed but was only commenting on Bernados game last night where he didn't really impose himself on a game where the other team were short in midfield. At times last year he looked really good especially in games where he was afforded more time on the ball. Those good games were few and far between so he will need to step up this year if not then maybe we can move him on ?.

Portugal were terrible. They looked good until the Dutch went down to 10 men then they just stopped playing. Their attacks were pedantic and predictable. Bernando was hooked in the second half. Nothing outstanding from him. ?♂️.

I started supporting Celtic in defiance to my family who were all Rangers supporters.
The 76/ 77 Scottish Cup final was the first final televised in over 20 years. It was a big occasion. I remember being over at my grandfathers house as he was the only one with a colour tv. My dad, uncles, cousins, all supporting Rangers. My favourite player at the time was Danny McGrain (I was a defender when I played) and I started to cheer everytime he tackled and won the ball much to the annoyance of everyone.
It just started there. Nothing to do with religion. Just a wee upstart wanting to rebel against everyone else.
